This is Saturday's United Daily Podcast. I'm Wayne Barton with today's news and rumours. Um bit of a messy one yesterday with Edison. News broke. Um well news broke all over the place yesterday with Edison. Now this um story has got some legs, so follow me with it. Um obviously the official line is that even though the club have never actually announced this um on any of their platforms like through the website or anything like that, they never officially announced this this was a story broken by journalists like through the likes of David Ornstein and and Romano that Edison, the Brazil midfielder, um had agreed a deal to sign for United and he would sign after the World Cup or when Brazil were done in the World Cup as they are now.
Um and that he'd completed the first part of his medical. That was how the story He would complete the second part of his medical after the World Cup. However, over the last week there was emerging reports saying that the deal was off.

Uh We shall see what happens here. Edison, um, as far as I'm aware, was still in the US at the time of a of of writing. Atalanta last night were strongly briefing that the player is healthy, there was no issues with the medical. United were putting it out to their sources that that you know that they didn't want it out there that there was a doubt with the transfer. Um that the deal isn't Dead but I don't know if that's to get the Santos deal concluded.
Um on Andre Santos he has been at Carrington, he's completed the first part of his medical as he looks to sign um from Chelsea. The rest of that should be completed over this weekend. If he can stand the temperature, I'm sure that they're not terrible temperatures for him, but um it's almost unbearable in Manchester. Good air conditioning in the re um the redid uh Carrington gyms, I'm sure it'll be fine there. Um anyway, United are looking to complete that deal this weekend. Whether or not they um go for two more midfielders, whether or not there's a headline midfielder that comes after this, it's not gonna be Andre Chiumeni, he's already signed that deal with Real Madrid. Um I'm not quite sure on where this goes 'cause Carlos Baliber's name has been missing for the last four or five days from all conversations as um this Edison news has popped back onto the radar.
I just think it's United uh would have preferred for the Santos deal to get concluded and then to make whatever necessary announcements with Edison.

Um but as of this present time, all the majors um outlets, all the the major sources are saying that the deal's off, but the club themselves are unofficially denying that is the case.
