This is Saturday's United Daily Podcast. I'm Wayne Barton with today's news and rumours. Manchester United's interest in Nico Williams continues to rumble on. The talk this morning is that uh due to the Fullback being able to play on either side, that has um heightened United's interest in him because they are looking for Fullbikes to be able to do that. Obviously Diogo do Dallo does that at the moment. United um impressed by Williams' versatility. I'm still not sure about this one. Um think it might be the last of the summer business, but Forrest will want big money for him.
What are the latest rumours linking Hugo Larsson (Lawson) with Manchester United and Newcastle?
They they'll want big money for all of the players. They're quite happy to sit where they are and um demand that I can't imagine. Unless they're pushed into a position where they've got to sell. Um So United um sort of playing the long game with that one I would guess. Also they've been linked with Hugo Lawson this morning, the Iron Track uh Frank Frankfurt midfielder who is a Swedish international. Um yeah Newcastle have also been linked with him. I I think that this is more um German based rumours really. I don't think United will be looking at Lawson to complete their midfield um split.
I don't know how happy Newcastle will be to do multiple n negotiations with them.
Is Arsenal considering a move for Lewis Hall and how might United’s interest affect the deal?
Maybe they will be. Um Arsenal interested in Bruno Guimara as well. Obviously, Newcastle might not want to keep Keep selling all the players. Lewis Hall would be one they'd prefer to keep hold of is possible if possible. United have been linked with him earlier in the summer. Um yeah, and AMI up on the list of preferred targets at left back, whether or not United will have the resources to be able to go there after completing their preferred activity elsewhere. I don't know. We shall see. Um John Philippe Mateta has been linked to T United again.

Um interesting this one. I think that this is a throwaway, to be honest. I think Mateta has got uh a contract that expires in um the summer of twenty twenty-seven. They were looking to move him on in January, they almost did. They're open to selling him for around £25 million. Honestly, it's not that bad a deal for a Player who's got good Premier League pedigree. I would think United would be in cheaper than that, even though Mateta is a good player. He's getting on a little bit, there's no sell-on value. It'd be a squad option at United.

Um I just think his name's just been linked in there because Mateta's um on the he'll be pushed for the IS bidder and um yeah, Pallis will be looking to move Him on, I think United's name just been he was there. Um on this day in um in history nineteen thirty eight, John Connelli um he was born, he played one hundred and thirteen times for United, helped the club win the title in nineteen sixty-five. He passed away in twenty twelve. Really good winger for United, one of these underrated players of the Busby era that doesn't get a lot of attention. Really good. You know, much like David. Hurdu's whose goal scoring record is phenomenal. But you know, people remember Bessler, Charlton, John Aston in the um cup final, Brian Keely in the cup final, and players like Kennelly and Hurdu played such a role in the success of the decade earlier to that sometimes get uh forgotten.
But yeah, on this day, um John Connelly was born.

Um finally United kick off their pre season today, don't they? They play against Wrexham in Helsinki. They've already landed there, lots of good stuff going on in Helsinke.
