Why did Manchester United send goalkeeper Altay Bayandia on loan to Celta Vigo?

This is Saturday's United Daily Podcast. I'm Wayne Barton with today's news and rumours. Manchester United goalkeeper Altai Bayandia has joined Celta Vigo on loan for the season. The Spanish club do have an option to make the deal permanent. United announced the deal yesterday. Bayandia posted on his socials nice things about the club he's obviously going to be leaving. The deals that were there to take him back to Turkey apparently weren't there at all. Those were the most sensible ones, actually. I was hoodwinked by that earlier in the year. I really thought that that was the sensible route for him, but he's gone to Celta Vigo.
Is Inter Milan forward Pio Esposito a realistic target for United this summer?
He'll experience playing in Spain, which will be a good experience for him. I don't think he's of the quality to play for United or even... I doubt the quality he had to be a backup goalkeeper for United but he's probably a top level goalkeeper for someone that might be a good move for him and it might be a good move for Celta Vigo so who knows in the future they might well make that deal permanent if he enjoys a good season there United aren't going to ask for a big fee for him yeah that was made official yesterday Another rumour from Italy, which I can't see coming, but the Sun are picking up on it. Pio Esposito, Esposito, the Inter Milan forward, the youngster a lot of clubs are interested in.
United have been linked with him. Arsenal could battle United out for him at £73 million, so about €80 million. It's not going to happen, United or not, in the market for Pio Esposito. Certainly not this summer. Certainly not at that price. Famous last words, of course, but... I feel quite solid on saying that.
Why did Newcastle reject United’s bid for left‑back Lewis Hall?
Newcastle have rebuffed an inquiry for Lewis Hall from United. So United made their first kind of approach for Lewis Hall in the middle of this week. And yeah, Newcastle just said no dice, really. They're not into selling any of their star names now that they've had the fire sale. Well, at least not to Manchester United. You can't imagine that they'd... countenance that whether or not they'd welcome a bidding war from other clubs I'm not quite sure but they've told United no Lewis Hall is not for sale so United will be looking elsewhere for a left back and the name that cropped up this week George Salinas of Racing Santander well he's apparently got a 13.7 million pound release close so around 15 million euros I think he can play left back and centre half he is viewed as an alternative to Lewis Hall
Not sure about this one. I think United might have to go outside of the Premier League in order to get a left back. But I'm still not sure. I think he was linked with Barcelona earlier in the week as well. Atletico Madrid have also been linked with him.
What can fans expect from United’s friendly against PSG in Gothenburg?
It might be a ploy for him to stay in Spain. United play PSG today in a friendly in Gothenburg. They will be playing without Diogo Dalo and Matias Cunha, who have both picked up minor illnesses, but Bruno Fernandes will be with the squad, so expect him to play. He'll probably start knowing Bruno. I'll report on that match tomorrow for you. A few happy birthdays to bring you and a few on this day. On this day, Joe Myerscough, a striker in the early 1920s, was born. He played 34 times and scored 8 goals. Louis Saha also born on this day in 1978 striker for United scored just over 40 goals I think injury hit time United but played very well when he was with the club and in fact it was his form that convinced
Alex Ferguson thought it was alright to move Rudvan Nistelrooy on, obviously the emergence of Ronaldo and Rooney as well, but the need for goals, he was banking on Soho to score them and he scaled his fair share and it did allow Rooney and Ronaldo to blossom as well. Also born on this day in 1910, Jimmy Murphy, the legendary assistant manager to Matt Busby, Sir Matt Busby in fact, in the 1940s he was hired, became the youth team manager, looked after the reserves as well, looked after everything under the reserve team, under the first team.
