This is Sunday's United Daily Podcast. I'm Wayne Barton with today's news and rumors. Louis Sahar has urged Manchester United to um raid his former club, Newcastle. So he's speaking about both of his former clubs, well two of his many former clubs. He's telling United to go to Bruno Gamares and sign him. I can't see Newcastle wanting to sell once they've got raid. of Sandro Tonale, or once they've moved him on, not got rid. £100 million for Tanale looks like um just about enough money for them to uh do a complete rehaul, especially considering the sixty million that they got for Anthony Gor Gordon earlier in the summer. So um they'd be able to spend about three hundred million if they choose to do that, if they can do that, if they can get the targets to do that.
But United are looking to strengthen their midfield, of course. Saha said maybe someone like Guimarez would be better, players who have a guarantee because next year is going to be tough, and those midfielders need to be right on the spot right away. So if the if that's the case, he's talking about Premier League proven midfielders. United have been linked with a couple of those in recent days.

I don't think Wharton is on United's um on on the A list of targets. Let's just say that. I'll be surprised if they um I in fact I might be surprised even if Warham moves on at this point. I think um United's targets are elsewhere. One of them was said to be Alex Scott. I think United did make inquiries here, but Bournemouth have um sort of doubled down
Down on this and said they're trying to get him into a new contract. As far as they're concerned, he's not for sale this summer. Um they um say he's not for sale at any price, so and Bournemouth, you know, generally don't have to sell. We'll see what happens there. Um I think they were hopeful that there'd be more interest coming forward on Junior Cruper. They might well be before the end of the the summer.

Um Um I think they've got a big close, haven't they, in on on the contracts for for Krupi uh signed him last summer for a bargain fee as well. So the way that they do business, um but yeah, I I think that it's look looking likely that they'll keep older Alex Scott for the next season. Uh Real Madrid, this isn't really connected to United, but it may be in terms of how they see their own midfield uh squad Building. The the noises coming out over the last few days were that Jose Mourinho's gonna wait for a little bit um before deciding on what to do with the midfield. But they did issue an official club statement distancing themselves from Enzo Fernandez, the Chelsea player, said that they appreciate his talent but they have no um intention to sign him.
It's very interesting that they made such a statement. if Real Madrid aren't looking to sign in Madrid though, they'll be looking to keep the ones that they've got. Um, yeah, I think they were interested in to uh Moises Caicedo earlier in the window. I'm not sure if that's really um one that anyone will be pushing now because of the way that the market's inflated, um even Real Madrid will be thinking that the price tag Chelsea will be wanting for Caicedo will be it'll be way over the hundred and twenty million that um City have already committed to Elliot Anderson. Um Speaking about players with uh a Brighton background, um the current star of their midfield, Carlos Baliba, who's been linked to United, all of the safe indications suggest that United will be going back in for him this week or next week.
And um Brighton have reportedly put a price tag of around £77 million um on his head.
