Welcome to today's United Daily Podcast. I'm Wayne Barton with today's news and rumors. Uh Marcus Rashford has been linked with a move to Bar uh to not Barcelona, beg your pardon, to Spurs. Spurs uh probably willing to pay around forty million pounds for him. Um and Rashford is prepared to take a pay cut in order to make that uh move come off. That'd be an interesting one. Uh
Is Marcus Rashford likely to move to Tottenham and what would the transfer involve?
I th there was some whispers that he w favoured a move to the capital if he was gonna stay in England. Um Spurs looking to rebuild and forty million seems fair considering the um the form we know he's capable of and how well he played for Barcelona uh last season. Um I'm not sure Spurs being linked with everyone at the moment. We'll see what happens um when they start making their moves properly. They still linked with a move for Sandro Tanoli and um um yeah United have um have been favoured in the race for Elliott Anderson by John Barnes who's told um he's told Anderson go to United, not City um City don't play the way that you like. Um I don't think he'll be swayed by John Barnes's opinion. I think that deal is already done uh from the player to club side anyway.
Forest still playing a little bit of hardball on the fee.
Which other player transfer rumors are circulating for United and their rivals?
United not doing so with Manuel Agate. They're quite happy to um accept a loss on him this summer in order to move him on, but he is on over £100,000 a week, which is proving to be a bit of an issue in terms of finding a club for him. I think they're looking for a straight sale as well. They're not looking for a loan and sale unless there's an obligation. in there to to sell uh to to buy. But the big announcement yesterday came from United from the club themselves. They've announced that they've secured um land required to buy the uh to to form and build the new s uh stadium which they've um stated marks a major milestone in the long term vision to transform the uh transform the old Trafford area The old Trafford will become the biggest
The stadium, which will become the new biggest sporting arena in the UK, will serve as a catalyst for the regeneration of the surrounding district, helping to create one of the most dynamic and globally significant sporting and entertainment destinations in the world.
Um As you walk past Old Trafford to the right, um if you're coming from uh I guess the town area, there's uh the land there. Um so it you'd be able to find pictures of it all over the um T internet now um to see exactly where the land is outlined, but it's still looking at acquiring a little bit more land apparently.
What did United announce about acquiring land for a new stadium?
Um it was speculating. at some point yesterday that the council might force a compulsory sale order on um Freight Lino 'cause they're pretty much um sandwiched in now. Um although they've still got their site close to the close to the railway, so who knows? Who knows anyway. Colette Roach made a statement, she said the club has also worked in oh no, she said we are committed to building a world class state.
