Uh but Mason was moving around the mound. Great pick on the other side when Ty Fran when he had to get over on that ground ball to Ty France. Uh so he he showed he was an athlete today.

Where he goes six great innings and sets the table for the back end for your best relievers to come in, shut the door. And You go win a a hard fought game. It was close. Um offensively, Padres went over with runners in scoring position, left six guys on base, so you wanna be better with that.
Uh but Jackson Merrill came up huge with a Homer and then, you know, the manufacturing of runs and taking advantage of Houston when they make mistakes. Houston made one error on the ground ball to Jeremy Pena and Peña botches it and uh Gavin Sheets is able to score there. That gave the Padres what ended up being the winning run. in this game. So sometimes it's not gonna be the sexiest, sometimes it's not just gonna be Homers and doubles and clean baseball all around, but what matters right now for the Padres and what's gonna matter every day moving forward, and including into the postseason obviously if they get there. Did you finish with more runs than the other team? Did you get the W? And that's what happened today.
Adrian Morhone was absolutely Fantastic tonight. Um For me I thought it was dumb that there was a Conversation about Hey, are they gonna trade Adrian Morahone? Look. Yeah, if you're trying to win. Training Adrian Morahone doesn't help you. I I don't care what you're getting back. The bullpen is so so so so so important in the postseason. And so for you to sit there and say, Yeah, without Adrian Marahone the Padres have a better chance of winning, you can miss me with that. That that just wasn't gonna be the case.

You have an opportunity to to make the postseason, uh Adrian Marhone is a huge piece in helping you get there and he can be a huge piece in in the postseason locking down games and not just pitching in the eighth inning, but pitching in the seventh inning like he did tonight, pitching more than three outs like he's done a lot this season. Uh like he did tonight. He went four outs tonight. And struck out a couple of guys and base is loaded in the seventh inning and gets the strikeout. So Um I think the pod rays their decisions to keep the guys that they kept, I think that's showing off to be the right decision.
