Chapter 1: What does Amy Gledhill reveal about her costume regrets?

12.417 - 35.726 Ed Gamble

Hello there, it's Ed Gamble, host of the Taskmaster podcast. I'm at the Taskmaster house. I'm in the caravan at the Taskmaster house. And today we'll be talking about, you guessed it, Taskmaster. Series 21, to be specific. To be even more specific, episode 6. And we'll be chatting with the brilliant Amy Gledhill, an amazing contestant competitor on this series of Taskmaster.

36.027 - 53.145 Ed Gamble

She's an amazing comedian. Can't wait to have Amy here in the caravan today. So let's get on with it. This is Taskmaster Series 21, Episode 6, as discussed by Amy Gladhill. Welcome, Amy, to the Taskmaster Podcast. Woo! Nice to be back in the caravan. It's lovely.

Chapter 2: How does Amy feel about working with a famous teammate in Taskmaster?

53.165 - 54.646 Amy Gledhill

It's nice and warm in here.

0

54.666 - 55.527 Ed Gamble

It is, yes.

0

55.707 - 62.834 Amy Gledhill

Yeah, the seat's been heated by the sun and I sat down and I went, oh, they've got heated seats. And I thought, no, no, no. We're in the caravan.

0

62.854 - 65.577 Ed Gamble

In this rickety old caravan, we've put heated seats in.

0

65.557 - 68.584 Amy Gledhill

Just for the pod. They take them out for the series.

70.027 - 86.811 Ed Gamble

It's so luxury when the series isn't filming. What you can't see, there's actually a small swimming pool back there. It's fantastic to have you on the pod. Thanks for having me. You're amazing on the show. We're going to be talking about episode six, which is, of course, called An Even Bigger Spoon. You got the quote.

Chapter 3: What embarrassing possessions does Amy share?

86.831 - 91.538 Amy Gledhill

I'm so honoured. I am so honoured. It's like my biggest achievement.

0

91.798 - 93 Ed Gamble

To get a title.

0

93.18 - 94.542 Amy Gledhill

Yeah, it's huge.

0

94.582 - 96.064 Ed Gamble

Yeah, it is huge, actually.

0

96.084 - 96.284 Amy Gledhill

It's huge.

96.484 - 99.048 Ed Gamble

It is huge. I think everyone does get one, but... Oh, right.

100.83 - 102.212 Amy Gledhill

You didn't need to tell me that.

102.252 - 105.397 Ed Gamble

Well, look, in the comments, I'm sure people will say when someone didn't get one.

105.417 - 106.078 Amy Gledhill

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Chapter 4: What does Amy think it means to be brave?

113.903 - 117.246 Unknown

Do you know what? They both really sum us up as people as well.

0

117.346 - 120.45 Ed Gamble

Because David Baddiel picks Q for an alphabet thing.

0

120.63 - 120.83 Unknown

Yeah.

0

121.871 - 132.462 Ed Gamble

And I said, you probably just get the quavers. And then rather than saying quavers, just put them in the thing and say, quisps. Quisps. Yeah. Bit of fun. I love that. I was like, I think I got one. And then I know exactly what it was.

0

133.283 - 136.906 Amy Gledhill

Did it? I don't know. So what happened was David Baddiel.

Chapter 5: What musical instrument did Ed learn in school?

136.926 - 139.909 Amy Gledhill

I think about it every night. And that's why I got this tattoo.

140.65 - 155.773 Ed Gamble

When I write my gratitude list. Let's talk through, first of all, I think there's some things that people are going to want us to talk about. We're going to have to talk about how starstruck you and Joel were when you met Camille for the first time.

0

155.753 - 161.08 Amy Gledhill

I genuinely didn't think that would make it into the edit. It was just this tiny little moment between me and Joel.

0

161.16 - 162.862 Ed Gamble

You didn't think it would make it into the edit?

163.162 - 163.623 Amy Gledhill

No.

163.783 - 172.774 Ed Gamble

But also, it wasn't just a tiny little moment. It was that moment, which was big. It was a big moment. And then seemingly throughout the team day, you were constantly referencing how famous he was.

173.916 - 175.177 Amy Gledhill

He's so famous.

Chapter 6: How do Amy and Ed discuss the game of conkers?

175.237 - 183.988 Amy Gledhill

He is so famous, though. You must know him. Yeah, I know him. When you first met him, tell me your brain didn't go...

0

184.407 - 185.448 Ed Gamble

He's so famous.

0

185.548 - 199.043 Amy Gledhill

He's so famous. But yeah, it's weird seeing someone that famous up close in real life. He's in Hollywood, which is in America.

0

199.123 - 203.387 Ed Gamble

Yeah, like the other bit, the furthest bit of it.

0

203.467 - 211.196 Amy Gledhill

The furthest bit of it is far. He's come from far with his big arms and his jawline. He's incredible to witness.

211.256 - 212.457 Ed Gamble

The arms are mad.

212.639 - 216.112 Amy Gledhill

It's, I mean, it's very rare you see a specimen like that.

216.352 - 217.597 Ed Gamble

Yeah, poor Joel, man.

Chapter 7: What humorous moments arise during the live task?

217.617 - 224.522 Ed Gamble

He was certainly looking forward to being the most muscly one. I know. He looks like a little boy next to Kamail.

0

226.342 - 228.605 Amy Gledhill

Oh, gosh, I didn't even think about that.

0

229.146 - 229.947 Ed Gamble

First thing I thought of.

0

230.548 - 236.798 Amy Gledhill

Did you? You were like, oh, he's not going to be the ripped one of the team. Gosh, yeah.

0

236.818 - 238.06 Ed Gamble

And I'm sure Armando felt the same.

240.824 - 242.206 Amy Gledhill

I'm not going to be the ripped one.

243.969 - 251.32 Ed Gamble

Did you get any advice when you were going on to the show? Obviously, you know a lot of people who've done it in the past. Did you speak to any of your friends about it?

251.553 - 255.38 Amy Gledhill

Everyone just says, oh, it's the most fun you'll ever have. Just have fun.

Chapter 8: What are the final standings in the Taskmaster series?

255.4 - 280.661 Amy Gledhill

It's not good advice, is it? You're like, shut up. Tell me exactly what to do and when. And the only advice I wish somebody had given me, but nobody did, was I wish I'd have worn, like, comfy clothes. Yeah. And what I will say is the first day of recording the tasks, I had shorts on, but they were short shorts.

0

281.241 - 296.077 Amy Gledhill

And there was a point where production, God love them, had to have a very diplomatic and gentle conversation with me to say, shall we put you some bigger shorts on? And I was like, yes, please. I'm so sorry.

0

296.097 - 314.55 Ed Gamble

A conversation they did not have with Matthew Bainton when he... When he did his series, they were like, put some shorter shorts on, Matthew. Pop those balls out. Thank you very much. Imagine if you turned up episode one in the studio and you were the new Matthew Payne. So they were having to blur stuff.

0

316.252 - 321.417 Unknown

Just stuff just falling out. I don't even know what. Just stuff just falling out. Blur it.

0

321.517 - 323.679 Ed Gamble

We're not going to be specific about it, but stuff's falling out.

323.699 - 337.994 Amy Gledhill

Stuff's falling out. I'm sorry to say it, but stuff has fallen out. Where? Don't worry about it. A load of old mess. Just a load of old mess.

338.014 - 346.242 Ed Gamble

Anyway, welcome to the show. Is the outfit, like, is it a Flintstones riff?

346.458 - 351.204 Amy Gledhill

It's like a cave woman styling, but modern.

351.424 - 352.425 Ed Gamble

Modern, yeah, yeah.
