That's nice. We've got similar jackets on, haven't we? We've got similar jackets on, similar boys. Yeah. I probably started comedy around the same time. Same sort of time. Same sort of time. Same wedding anniversary. Yeah.
yes that is true yeah um and uh but you i've i think i've sort of stayed the same uh sort of amount of good looking and whereas you are really ramped up you're obsessed with this i'm obsessed you're so good looking yeah we did a gig the other night together and joel was on after me and i say the first two minutes was joel going i'd gamble four i just kept to say the word four yeah they were on board with it though there where were they
Chapter 4: How did Joel Dommett feel about his experience on Taskmaster?
No, actually. They were really annoyed by it.
Just going, fwoah, all the time. Fwoah. Because I found the word fwoah funny.
Yeah.

I absolutely loved it. It's a cliche to love this show, I think. And I am fully willing to jump on the cliche. I think you just find out so much about yourself. When you do it. And also when you watch it back. Because you... I sort of know who I am, I think. I'm 40 now. I've been on this earth long enough to be like, I think I know who I am.

Chapter 6: How did the contestants approach the 'sardines' task?
There's no darkness there?
There's zero darkness.
There's zero, you're not, weirdly, not competitive. Hmm. Even though, you know, you're an athlete, you like to throw yourselves into things, but I don't think you're ever truly competitive with other people. You're competitive with yourself. Absolutely. I mean, we'll talk later about the task of getting the ball down the tube and then into the cup. I've never seen anyone more excited for a task.
Loved it. Yeah.
The way I jumped and... Tell you what, it was so visually exciting to see someone sort of tuck jump in leather trousers.

We'll talk about it. Save the leather trouser chat. We need to talk about the egg. Yes. We've got to talk about the egg because this huge moment in episode one is revealed that throughout the entire filming process of Taskmaster, including the studios, you had to have an egg concealed about your person and produce it when Alex blew an air horn. Yes. But you were the only one doing this.

Chapter 7: What humorous moments stood out during the discussion?
This is the big twist.
Yes. I did not know I was the only one doing it. And like I said in the studio record, I was fascinated. We were in this sort of holding pen before you go into the studio where you'll get your microphones put on and stuff like that. And I was looking around and I was like, where has everyone put their headphones?
whereas and amy had a top on that i was like how is she where is she i was like this is fascinating you know and i felt like i was walking really weird because i had a full egg and also the i had a chain attached to the egg yeah um which is a it's a lovely bit of kit by the way to store the egg was this was this of your own design or did you have it commissioned on the other side of your chain
No, no, no, no egg on my wallet chain, no. And then obviously like a little egg holder. Is this something you made yourself?
Yeah, so it took a lot of sort of safety pins and Amazon purchases. So basically you can get like an egg holder on Amazon. And so I got that and then put some gaffer tape over it. My thing at this point was I do not want it to break.
Yes.
And then I sort of safety pinned a full wallet chain to it.
Yeah.
Which again, I didn't really need to do that. But it looked cool. But then I thought it was also quite a fun idea to reveal a chain from your fly.

Chapter 8: What are the upcoming episodes and guests for the Taskmaster podcast?
The horn sets me off. Yeah. Oh, no.
I've got to do it. I've got to get it out.
It's... I... Yeah. And this is another thing that's been sort of drawn to my attention since... Since the episode has aired, I actually got the task completely wrong. Because when Alex tells me the task, he says, show me the egg and I must hand Alex the egg. And never mention the egg. Yeah. I never once do a hand him the egg. Not once. Nope. And all I do is talk about the egg.
Yeah. But I think by the point that Greg tells you you're not going to get any points for it anyway, that doesn't matter.
Again, this is another thing that's been raised to my attention since I've watched it. Of course the thing you should do at that point is that he goes, you're not going to get any points of it. You've had this egg on you for six months, protecting it, making sure it's okay. I should then get the egg out and be like, fuck you, Greg, and throw it on the floor.
But that's not you, Joel.
I put it back in the egg cup and it'll be back in my dick. What am I doing?
Well, you want to complete things as they should be completed. I carry it on. Yeah. That's what I do. I respect you so much for that. That egg would have been going full pelt towards Greg's head if it was me. And I don't want to give anything... Or I would have panicked and eaten the whole egg. Yeah, just give yourself salmonella.
And be like, ha-ha! I win. I win. I'm in hospital now. And I don't want to give too much away, but at the end of the whole thing, there's quite a lovely... There's a lovely sort of through line to the egg. And it's beautiful at the end.
