Chapter 1: What nostalgic memories does Joanna share about caravans?
Welcome, Joanna, to the Taskmaster podcast.
Yay!
It's a delight to have you here.
Oh, God, it's an absolute pleasure. It feels really weird being back in this caravan because I love the caravan because it reminds me of my childhood holidays and it's really homely. But then also there's like a slight sense of danger. What are they going to do to me? The last time I was in here, there was a cat over there with a worm in its bum.
Yes. Poor old Patatas.
Yes.
A development of Patatas' story that he now has worms, which is a real shame. So were your family holidays like this? Was this a sort of caravan?
They were. First, yeah, I remember going to Fishguard in an actual old-fashioned caravan like this, except it was blue on the outside. And it was like the proper old-fashioned caravan. And we would sit here and we would play cards. Because I was a bit thrown. Like, whenever anybody came in here... Everybody was a bit like, oh, God, you know, we don't like it in here. Oh, God, this is awful.
And I just thought, oh, it reminds me of home.

Chapter 2: How does Joanna feel about working with Armando Iannucci?
We're both wrappers. Yes.
We're both really into wrapping. I went through a tinfoil phase. What? I went through a tinfoil phase. Just for presents and stuff. What?
tin foil yeah yeah because then you you don't need to cut that you don't yeah i know yeah but it's make a lot of noise and everything yeah and it doesn't i don't think it feels great for the person receiving the present oh it looks like there's uh something radioactive in there yeah or leftovers or leftovers yes yeah or a kind of small marathon runner very small yeah
But I came up with an idea of tinfoil-backed wrapping paper. I thought it was going to make me, you know, millions. It looks like paper on the outside, but then on the inside it's tinfoil, so you don't need to... And you just fold it over and you don't need to use...
But would that make the paper on the other side crinkled as well?
We didn't go through it fully.
Yeah, okay. I didn't get into Dragon's Den. No. My big idea I had when the internet started and deliveries, I remember thinking, somebody should put their money in delivery vans because there's going to be an awful lot of those. Yeah. I should have. You should have done. I should have, but I didn't, which is why I'm doing this. So that... Yeah.
So your idea was invest in delivery vans when the internet started.
Yeah, because doesn't that make sense? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, you were right. I was right. Yes. All that money I could have made. I could have been bigger than Musk. I could have had the satellites. Yeah. Straight to space? Straight to space. I could be able to kind of interfere with your steering wheels. Yeah. Any time of day or night.

Chapter 3: What challenges did the guests face during the tasks?
I feel like a cuck husband. Yeah. You look like a cuck husband. I feel like my partner's brought me in to put me in the wardrobe.
We're on our holiday.
We're on our caravan holiday, Ed. You and me. We're on a romantic break in the back garden of the Taskmaster house.
It's lovely, isn't it? It's great. We're having a nice time. Welcome back to the Taskmaster podcast, Jenny.
I wouldn't like to go on holiday with you.
No? Why not?
I know some of your habits are disgusting.
Talk us through some of them.
Right. Well, I listened to your other podcast, you know, the one where you talk about eating food.

Chapter 4: How does the scoring system work in Taskmaster?
He just knows. I don't think Armando thinks you're riffraff. Oh God, he does. He does. You know, he's an educated man. He can just smell it.
He is a very educated man.
Yeah, he can smell my riffraffness. Joel, Joel. It's great that Joel kind of is playing up to his kind of, well, he looks like, well, a middle-aged rent boy, a tiny bit middle-aged rent boy. Sure, yeah, yeah. But with this like goofy charm.
Yeah, he's very charming.
The goofy charm actually doesn't wear off. It gets better. Originally you think, okay, enough goofy charm. And then about 20 minutes later, when he's laid it on quite thick, you think, no, I'm lapping up.
Well, this is genuinely who he is.
Yeah, I think it is.
He's very funny and he's a cute dummy.
Yeah, it's sweet, isn't it?

Chapter 5: What humorous moments arise during the egg task?
And you haven't quite worked out, I don't know, you haven't quite worked out what you make of it all. And it's interesting, at the end of the day, Alex said, oh, well, yeah, you were almost quite fast on all of them. As in, I just went straight in. You just did it, yeah.
And that was one where I thought I could see what you could do, which is, okay, well, I could pick the bucket up, move it over, so that's that. And then I'm going to have to touch something. So if I just make an arc, pick up, pick an arc of skittles and move them, that might give me enough room to, you know, maneuver myself over and lean down, pick the bowling ball up and put it in the bucket.
Straight into the bucket. That was the plan.
Yes. Obviously, as I picked it up, I nudged a skittle and they all fell over. Yeah. And I thought a, I thought, well, I thought it was really, really funny. But I think I found it more amusing than anyone else did. And part of me was thinking, so I'll stop there because that's the funny bit. And I did say, well, you've got time to pick them all up and start again.
And I thought, A, but that's a lot of picking up. I'll lose lots of whatever. And B... I quite like the purity of ending on that stupid thing. And C, I'm not sure I want to pick them all up. Do I want to do that? Sounds like a very long afternoon, doesn't it? And it's interesting because when we got to the studio, of course, everyone that happened to... Yeah. And those were all funny as well.
Yeah. So mine wasn't any funnier than anyone else's. But then they had the, you know, the good character to then go on and pick them all up.
Yeah.
Because I just gave up.
But also you put it in the bucket so quickly, you gave yourself no chance to... I know. You swung right back round. Yes. Dumped it in the bucket. And then I think tried to claim... that none of them had fallen over by the time you put it in the bucket.

Chapter 6: How does Joanna's approach differ from other contestants?
You're so funny. You're so fwoah.
You're so four, man. This is nice. This is a nice way to do the podcast. Anytime you feel low and you feel, you know, you're like, oh, I don't feel myself today. Give me a call, man.
I'll give you a call, yeah, yeah.
And I will tell you how four you are.
I tell you what, you're the first guest to do this. Armando, nothing from him about me being good looking.
I can imagine. Yeah. I can imagine that. I just, every time I see you, it just improves. By it, I mean your face.
My face, yes. Before the first task is shown, Alex blows an air horn. Oh, God, I love this. And Joel very frantically unzips his trousers and produces a chain with an egg holder and gets an egg out of it with Greg's face on it. So eagerly, he's so eagerly doing it that sort of doesn't notice that no one else is doing anything.
That's why I couldn't get... I was thinking, at what point is he going to realise he's the only person rummaging? And also, I felt really sorry for him because it's such a funny idea to put it there. Yeah. But he was thinking, when everyone else brings their eggs out, mine's going to be in the funniest spot.
LAUGHTER

Chapter 7: What insights are shared about the new lineup in Series 21?
Maybe they thought you've been hypnotized at some point and that's why you did it the first time.
The horn sets me off. Yeah.
Oh, no. I've got to do it. I've got to get it out.
It's... I... Yeah. And this is another thing that's been sort of drawn to my attention since... Since the episode has aired, I actually got the task completely wrong. Because when Alex tells me the task, he says, show me the egg and I must hand Alex the egg and never mention the egg. Yeah. I never once do a hand him the egg. Not once. Nope. And all I do is talk about the egg.
Yeah. But I think by the point that Greg tells you you're not going to get any points for it anyway, that doesn't matter.
Again, this is another thing that's been raised to my attention since I've watched it, is of course the thing that you should do at that point is that he goes, you're not going to get any points of it. You've had this egg on you for six months, protecting it, making sure it's okay. I should then get the egg out and be like, fuck you, Greg, and throw it on the floor.
But that's not you, Joe.
What? I put it back in the egg cup and it's back in my dick. What am I doing?
Well, you want to complete things as they should be completed. I carry it on. Yeah. That's what I do. I respect you so much for that. That egg would have been going full pelt towards Greg's head if it was me. And I don't want to give anything. Or I would have panicked and eaten the whole egg. Yeah, just give yourself salmonella.

Chapter 8: What are the funniest highlights from the episode?
Alex is waving to me.
I mean, Alex is here, guys.
I remember winking lots and waving lots and having to pick the bricks up.
Yeah. Do you want to do your wink quickly now, just so we can see it?
Well, I'll do it now like this.
But when I was actually doing it, it was like a... Like that. put the most t-shirts on Alex and of course they got to use a t-shirt cannon I've never have you ever used one? no I'm so jealous I want to use it so much
All I've seen is Homer Simpson killing Ned Flanders. Killing Mort Flanders, yeah, yeah. And, yeah, that is the task. Because I watch it going, oh, it's great, great, great. But there's not a task yet that, obviously, there are only two in. And then as soon as I went, oh, I want to try that. Oh, why didn't we get that? And at first I misunderstood it again.
I tried to rewind it going, oh, I thought they had to fire it and it would land perfectly on Alex.
I hate what he's doing.
