Who is Miro Gospodinov and what does myDataValue do?
Okay everybody, we are back for another episode of the accommodation show, and this week I am joined by the wonderful Miro Gospodov from my data value or data value. Welcome to the show. Thank you for having me, Bart. Pleasure to be here. Uh, thanks for coming on. Thanks for staying up uh late. You are in uh whereabouts in Europe are you? London. You're in London. So it's uh late for you, early in the morning for me, but we're here, which is fantastic. And um uh uh it's been great because I found you through a LinkedIn post. And you're uh very, very active on LinkedIn and just adding value to everybody and giving them data points that they can then use in their business. And the one uh you were controversial.
Miro because you posted up saying these are the top property management companies in different territories. I believe you may have done Australia and then I got the list and I shared it around and there were people that were missing on the list and they were not happy with you, Miro. Oh. Make it soggy. But um It's good because I think anyone that's listening, I do recommend that you engage with Miro because his content is really valuable. So if you're running a hotel, motel, short term rental, and if you want to get more data, which is gonna help you become a better business, he is one of the leaders in the space and doing really great uh things with his products. Um, Miro, I'm gonna crack straight into it.
Tell us a little bit about my data value and what you guys are uh building.
Yes, of course. And actually you started with uh the data site. I was just mentioning a sentence over there. Um it actually it's been an interesting journey 'cause we started with uh the data reports for from countries all over the world. And it has been uh amazing to see so much interest and when we share the distribution about booking.com, which is controversial for vacation rentals, that they have cost of their properties on Airbnb, but with growth of booking.com has been a very interesting trend. Um however our main uh product actually it is we're improving uh ranking, so we're solving the rank visibility in different platforms on booking.com and now we're gonna be expanding to Airbnb and Expedia and also we're gonna go in the future to AI search.
Why does ranking #1 on Booking.com increase bookings by 70%?
So what do we do is we are um the only one actually that we have uh fully automated way to optimize promotions and rates which has been uh huge uh it has huge benefit uh benefited our uh clients. So it It's been an interesting journey so far, yeah.
Yeah. So uh i in summary the the the main sort of purpose so we've done an episode before about uh ranking number one on Airbnb. This episode today, what we're gonna do is talk about things that you can do practically on a day to day to help you rank number one on booking dot com. 'Cause that's where you guys started, it's where you've got the biggest skill set. And I guess this some of these rules could be applied across the different OTAs. Um and you guys have built a bit of a tool tool which sits behind that, which is gonna help um people automate that process. But I think through that automation of process, well, hey, you can do a lot of things manually and there's a lot of things that you can do to actually optimate optimize your listing to be number one on booking.com.
Before we go into um how it's actually done, tell me about the the the results. Tell me about the difference it can make make for a business if they're doing it right, if they are optimizing, or conversely, what the penalties are for not doing it.
Correctly. That's a very good question, uh Bart. And um again, you can do it um with the tour, even if you uh when you said that's even manually, you can have huge amount of benefit uh doing that. Because we've seen a lot of operators, um and I can give an example of one of the first operators uh that we cooperated with. Um You can use a revenue management system, a data system. However, they don't push you up in the ranking. And this is where most companies they have like a listing optimization function, channel optimization function, which is uh optimizing manually, changing different parameters inside the channel so you can optimize.
