What is the “property health score” and why is it essential for accommodation operators?
Well, hello everybody, and welcome back to the accommodation show. This one is a special one because I'm talking to a founder all the way from Finland, from Helsinki, and his name is Yunus Sipela from Pacho. Welcome to the show. Thanks for having me. Um we had a bit of a chat before the show got started and we were talking about how far away Finland is and you said Finland is far away from everything. That is exactly how I feel about Australia. Is it really that far away from everything?
Yeah, well it seems like it's uh you always like w when you're flying somewhere it's like at least two to three hours in the you know, Central Europe. And you get one hour to Stockholm but that's the only place you get fast. But uh probably not so much remote than uh Australia is, but you know. Same style on long way from everywhere. Yeah.
I mean, you know, it it Even if it takes you a long time to get somewhere, right? It doesn't really matter the distance that you've actually traveled. Um Eunice, um so good to have you on the show. Um, folks, this is a cool episode because uh Yunus is a founder of a up-and-coming company, which you're gonna hear a lot about over 2026. Mark my words. Um, they're making a really strong strategic move into the short-term rental space or into the industry to get them. themselves in front of you because they're working on a problem that they think everybody has and they think that they found a solution which is gonna be practical. To solve the problem and we're gonna talk about the problem in a second. And they not only that, but they're backing themselves and saying, you know what?
We're gonna go out to the market and we're gonna prove. that this is a real problem and talk to everybody about it and people will Get involved, support us, and buy our product because the problem is real and the solution is good enough. Is that a is that a fair analogy?
Yeah, that sounds right. Like how we'd be thinking at like solving these kind of problems with uh technology uh that has never been before. So in these days you can use technology to solve Much more different thing that that could be previous previously done. Nobody probably everyone uh won't know about it, so be open about technology. Yeah.
But what? And one of the biggest questions that I always get asked. Is um What AI tools is everybody using? What technology are people using? It's been interesting because um I think that if we think about uh short-term rentals in general, um property manager systems have uh there's many, many of them on the market doing lots of different things. Uh we have lots of pricing tools now. Um we have lots of different solutions to different problems. And And uh and then different companies tackling them in a different way. The great thing that I know about technology is that if you build it Now, rather than having built it five or ten years ago, you're able it you're uh able to use the latest technology to build a really cool solution to to tackle the problem.
But Folks, we're going to be talking about Clean is Managing one of the most complex parts of a short term rental business. What the real problems are and what problems people still have And we'll be talking a little bit about the solution. Uh Yunus is from Pacho. Younes, tell us a little bit about your background and how you landed into this space.
Yeah, well, so uh my background is from property management. I've been a a property manager or part of the company sin Last eight years. Yeah. We've been uh managing uh like a hundred plus units uh in different places all over Finland. And uh Well, yeah, we've been uh like of course everyone has gone who's been enough long enough in this industry has been gone through COVID and those kind of things, so you need to kind of think things you have time had time to think about things in the industry and then you have create new plans and of course we're p uh while we open the back and we're The market is going again. We uh at our property management company started to scale. We were at tiny fraction in in uh city in in Finland but then you want to go all over the the nation then uh you uh ended up figuring out uh you know we have some kind of bottlenecks growing this business so uh and yeah then we came up that you can of course you have a really great tool for pricing and uh
