Drawing upon the Power Threat Meaning Framework (PTMF), Dr. Hoerricks explains how societal structures create power imbalances that threaten autistic individuals, leading to BIMS. The article offers scripts and strategies for managing BIMS, including honoring rest, practicing interoceptive awareness, and cultivating self-compassion.
