There's a new Siena College poll that shows Zoran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral nominee in New York City, is now leading by an increased amount, 44%.
Former Governor Andrew Cuomo is at 25%. Where is that support coming from? Well, as you might have guessed, it is people who are young. It is people under the age of 35. According to pollster Steven Greenberg, city voters under 35 are overwhelmingly supporting Mamdani. As are our plurality of voters, 35 to 54%. Voters 55 and older back Cuomo over Mamdani 38 to 32. So what does that mean? It means younger voters are driving Mamdani forward. And, you know, there are a lot of folks asking questions like, why is this person even the frontrunner in the first place? He's never held a real job. And that's true.
