When we get to the Gospels, get to the New Testament, I love the Old Testament. It is incredible. It's incredible. The Hebrew covenant, the Hebrew story, the Hebrew scriptures, so good. But there's something about even today's gospel of John chapter 4, 5, and 6 that I got to tell you right now, it's changed my life. It has changed my life, especially that last chapter, John chapter 6. So I will try to contain myself as we read the gospel of John chapters 4, 5, and 6, book of Proverbs chapter 5, verses 7 through 14. The gospel according to John chapter 4. Now when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John, although Jesus himself did not baptize but only his disciples, he left Judea and departed again to Galilee. He had to pass through Samaria. So he came to a city of Samaria called Sychar near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there and so Jesus, wearied as he was with his journey, sat down beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give me a drink. For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
