Hey everybody, welcome to this episode where we're going to pick the CMA award winners and we're gonna pick our favorites instead of guessing. The problem is we're not giving who probably will win advice. 'Cause I think I can pick who probably will much better than I than I'll do if I'm picking who I'd like to see win. Okay. Also, it's these type shows that get me in trouble. Why if I'm just going full opinion? Because Yeah. Because you're being honest. If let's say, for example, and there's Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, but I'll do a category musician of the year, for example, right? And so I don't know a lot of these people w this is not a category we talk about. But if I were like uh the guitar player, Tom Bukovac. Don't know

of course, of course. So just uh a little background here, it's the sixtieth CMA Awards. Ah yes. And There are two major award shows. There's the CMAs that happen in November. There's the ACMs that happen a bit more in the spring, late spring, summer. The difference is, well, they're different letters. Uh
yeah, different organizations.
Yeah. They're not going to be a little bit different C M A, one's A C M. They take place in different places. Uh well sometimes. They've had the A the A C Ms in here before. Where have they where was the last Dallas for the they did Vegas Uh but they've had it in Nashville. But the A C Ms were started in California. Oh it's a little younger. Oh, I didn't know that. Mm-hmm. And CMAs are very Nashville. It's a little older, a little more prestigious. So early on did Dwight Yoakum win all the awards? Him and Buck Owens is every award. Like
that's how
it started. Um and also what happens a bit is the ACMs, that's not this one, mm-hmm, this is the CMA's. The A C Ms are known to be a bit more progressive and a little younger. So you would see people like in the past, like Thomas Rhett won Entertainer of the Year a few years ago. Yeah. Um I know there were a couple other examples of that, but uh don't have 'em right now. Didn't do that recently. But they're they're generally known to be a little more progressive. Got it. Where the CMA's long standing Traditional. Very much so. Probably slightly More value to artists just because they've been around a lot longer. But both are massive, but those are the two big ones. Uh different trophies too. Well yeah, they're different organizations.
