Hello and welcome back to Movie Mike's Movie Podcast. I am your host, Movie Mike. We are now halfway through the year, so I have my list of the top 10 movies of 2026 so far. The number one movie on this list is going to officially earn its place in not only my top 10 of the year so far, but my top 10 movies of the entire year in 2026. In the movie review... I was initially going to boycott this movie because just the thought of it infuriated me so much, but I thought I owed it to you to go and watch this movie with my own eyeballs and tell you my true feelings, even though I hated the idea of this so much.
I will give you my review of Moana. I normally do spoiler free, but it is a remake of a movie that came out 10 years ago. That falls within the spoiler window. We're going full all in on Moana so I can tell you all the things I felt about them turning an animated movie that was perfect into live action. We'll get into the trailer park, but right now I'm just trying not to choke on my own rage here. So let's get right into it. Let's talk movies. This has been a fantastic year for movies. We are on the up and up. One of the healthiest years at the box office because there have been good movies in the last few years that I was really excited about, but they just haven't had the numbers. But now in 2026, not only do we have great movies coming out, but people are actually watching them and they are making studios money.
And that is a good thing because then we can get more original stories. We get better franchises. It is a much better world to live in when the box office is doing well, in my opinion. But this is also my biggest passion. So I have for you, of all the movies I've rated and reviewed this year, my top 10 movies of the year so far, which I think this year is on pace to be the best year in film since 2019.
