Chapter 1: What are the shoutouts and introductions at the start of the episode?

0.031 - 2.795 Unknown

This is an iHeart Podcast.

2.815 - 4.917 Morgan

Guaranteed human.

4.937 - 26.343 Unknown

Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy. Not quite. On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guests, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between-songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes.

26.524 - 45.18 Unknown

Those people are starving for banter. Listen to Humor Me with Robert Smigel and friends on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the Enhanced Games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host, Keir Gaines. This space is about Black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men...

81.571 - 96.222 Keir Gaines

carry a suit of armor it signals to the world that you not to be played with and just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to listen to learn the hard way on the iHeartRadio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts

96.387 - 111.251 Unknown

My mother-in-law spent years sabotaging our relationship until karma made her pay for it. All right, Sophia, tell me about how we started this story. She moved in for two weeks, lasted five days, left a mess, and then pressed her ear against their bedroom door and burst in screaming.

111.271 - 128.157 Unknown

When kicked out to a hotel, she called her son-in-law's workplace pretending his partner had been rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Faked a medical emergency? And spoiler, that was just the beginning. To find out how it ends, listen to the OK Storytime podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Chapter 2: Who is Scuba Steve closest to on the show?

423.186 - 428.995 Unknown

Anything I learned in my music knowledge came from when I was an adult solo. So if you're teaching me about it now, I did not learn about it growing up.

429.015 - 449.46 Scuba Steve

Well, I recommend you should 100% Get on your phone one day on a road trip or something. I'm sure your fiance has been all about it or heard it or is aware of it. The Chronic, the original, a little hardcore. It may not be suitable for you, but the Chronic 2000, the newer one, but it's not really new anymore, had Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dre, and all them on there.

0

449.58 - 454.005 Unknown

Oh, he for sure loved it. Listen. Oh, my gosh. That guy loves hip-hop rap.

0

453.985 - 471.433 Scuba Steve

Oh, then he's for sure. If you go to him tonight and you're like, hey, babe, I never listened to The Chronic. He's like, what? And I haven't listened to The Chronic 2000. He's like, what? So you should definitely spend, because one of those albums when you press play, all the interludes, like the little skits in between, they all blend and fade together so beautifully.

471.813 - 478.985 Scuba Steve

And it's such a great, texturally, the album is such a great, phenomenal, pop cultural moment.

479.085 - 480.567 Unknown

Okay, so The Chronic 2000.

480.665 - 481.772 Scuba Steve

The Chronic a little hardcore.

481.792 - 483.221 Unknown

Or the Chronic 2000.

483.261 - 487.367 Scuba Steve

The Chronic 2000, I think, would be a little bit more your vibe. Chronic 2000.

Chapter 3: How did Scuba Steve get his nickname?

801.757 - 813.73 Keir Gaines

Because you find it important to be a good person while you're here on Earth? Or are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person.

813.71 - 826.672 Keir Gaines

Continue Scuba Steve's story.

831.445 - 849.291 Scuba Steve

And then so intern day one, I walk in. I was in Orlando, a station called XL 1067. It was Johnny. Johnny and Jay was the show. It was like an iconic Orlando radio show. And I walk in first day and they're like, yeah, I walk in. They're all in the office. They turn around, look at me. They're like, Scuba Steve, damn you. And I was like, oh, that's a cool movie. Like, no, no, no. That's your name.

0

849.331 - 864.53 Scuba Steve

And I was like, what? And they go, we give all our interns a nickname. And that's your nickname. And I was like, all right, cool. And then I was like, whatever. And then it was one of those nicknames where I realized, oh, I can't escape this nickname. And the host, Johnny, loved it. Every time I would see him, he'd be like, Scuba! Scuba Steve! And he just loved saying it.

864.59 - 878.711 Scuba Steve

And for me, it was cool because then I have this guy that I looked up to growing up who now knows my name and gave me a name. And, like, he can't get it. I see him now. The first thing he says, he's like, Scuba! Scuba! And I'm like, oh, that's so cool. He still knows me.

878.751 - 879.593 Unknown

That's cool.

879.613 - 896.164 Scuba Steve

And so for me, it was pretty legit to get nicknamed by somebody you looked up to. Johnny Magic was his name. And then I carried it from every market. When I was in San Francisco, though, they hated it on it. And they were like, you got to change it. And so I went by just Steven for a while, or Producer Steve, which is such a boring ass name.

896.144 - 897.306 Unknown

Compared to Scuba Steve for sure.
