Chapter 1: What led to the fatal shooting involving a quadruple amputee?
So two days ago, there was a fatal shooting that left a 27-year-old young man dead. However, interestingly, the primary suspect was unarmed. All right, guys. So you might know what we're talking about based on the title and thumbnail. You might have figured out that riddle. But I just have to say, this story has been dominating my social media.
the last 36 hours and I kept wavering like I was sending the clips and information to my producer I was talking about it with Alex and I was wavering because I did want to talk about it I found it really interesting but I obviously wanted to be respectful like a young man died this is a shooting it is a murder case but also the thing that everybody is talking about online is how insanely absurd the entire case is and like that is what I was drawn to that's what everybody was
was drawn to, and so I basically spent the entirety of today trying to figure out what I wanted to talk about, but I just kept coming back to this, and then it finally hit me that I needed to reframe the way that I thought about things, and I needed to take a new motto to heart. And that new motto is, what would Tim Dillon do? would Tim Dillon do?
And Tim Dillon in this situation, I think, well he would tell the story, even though this is something that we absolutely should not laugh at, he would tell the story. And then once we get through that absurdity and we talk about the internet's reaction, then we can get down to brass tacks and see the root of the story, which is completely and utterly heartbreaking. So without further ado,
Here's what happened, and I'm going to try to say this with a straight face. This is going to be a true test for me and Max, my editor, to see if we can actually toe the line here. Max, I believe in you, I believe in myself. Guys, this is what happened. A quadruple amputee, US cornhole champion, is being accused of pulling out a gun and shooting his friend in the head twice while driving a car.
I mean, guys, when I first came across this headline, I thought it was the onion, Babylon B. I genuinely thought that I was hallucinating. I was like, no, this obviously is not real. This isn't even possible. And so I scrolled on, but oh my God, no, it is in fact possible. And this right here is the man.
All right.
He's going to set up a field goal for him. He's got a lot of room to work with. Just work right down the middle of those backs.
cornhole champion, the first ever quadruple amputee on the U.S. cornhole team, for that matter.

Chapter 2: How did the internet react to the absurdity of the shooting case?
No idea if he was suffering from something, but he ended up being at the hospital, and that is where they found him. They subsequently arrested him, and now he is being charged with murder, first degree, second degree, first degree assault, a myriad of other things, and here is his mugshot. Now, I am no expert on true crime.
I am not one of those women that finds entertainment in listening to bodies being dismembered and missing people's cases in podcasts. It's just like horrifying to me. But based on my limited experience, I would say that this doesn't really look like the most remorseful or upset young man. But here is Dayton. Dayton James Weber. That is his mugshot. So needless to say,
And this is where I'm getting into treacherous territory. When the news broke, when people saw that headline that again, read like something from the Onion or the Babylon Bee, the internet had the same reaction that I'm guessing you are probably having right now. But this case simply has no legs. It has no legs.
I mean, just to rip off the bandaid and just go ahead and start being offensive, first of all, how did they even handcuff him? That's the first thing I thought of. Is there a protocol for this? Did they carry him out? I don't know. That's besides the point, maybe, or is it? Somebody asked that in a comment section and Colin Ruge responded and said, talk to the police officer from SpongeBob.
Oh brother, this guy stinks!

Chapter 3: What details are known about the suspect, Dayton Weber?
Just gonna leave that there. Anyway, it is simply one of the many questions that people online want answered. For example, Autism Capital responded to one of these headlines and wrote, so is anyone gonna ask the obvious question here? We need to ask them, it's for justice. We need to know. Another person said, no fingerprints could be found at the scene of the crime.
Somebody else said, who are the people in the backseat that let the guy with no arms and no legs drive WTF? Now guys, this just gets even better because in this just absolutely insane, unfathomable story, there just seems to be an answer for everything. It's like when you get to a point where you're like, this could not have happened, people are like,
Oh no, actually it could, because obviously the car that this young man was driving was a Tesla. He was driving a Tesla, so obviously he had the ability to somehow, I don't even know how, pull out a gun, but he, it was hands free, you know, is what I'm trying to say.
Now other people online were immediately suspicious about the events, because obviously, no arms, how could he have reached anywhere in the car to pull out a gun, let alone pull a trigger? And speaking of pulling the trigger, have you guys purchased your Balance of Nature yet? Now Balance of Nature supplements make understanding and taking care of your health easy.

Chapter 4: What happened during the argument that escalated to gunfire?
I don't know if those are on record or off record that resulted in him losing his license. And then he had this DUI in October of 2020. And it, poof, it's just gone away. There's no record of it. So what happened? Did he just get some kind of slap on the wrist? Was he let off because of who he is and this inspirational story? I have no idea.
I saw this comment that somebody pulled on YouTube and they posted it on X and I hesitated reading it, but I did want to share now based on the information I found. This person said, I went to high school with him and I knew him as a little asshole. He treated everyone however he felt because he knew he could get away with it given his condition, unsurprised that he killed someone.
Now obviously this is not verified and that last line is a very significant claim and that's really why I didn't want to read the comment, but I think the more relevant part is that he treated everyone however he felt because he knew he could get away with it. And stick with me here because this is even more relevant when we get to the part about the victim.
But I read this comment and I was thinking, okay, like his DUI, he was able just to get away with it. Like he ran into a cop car, he ran into a building and it's so swept under the rug that mainstream media is not even recording it in their stories about this that I had to learn about it from a random commenter who lives in the area because no mainstream media outlet even found out about it.
Like it's just, it's weird. It's just interesting. Anyway, and of course there are people who will immediately jump on this story and talk about him and say, here's more evidence that we need to ban guns. Violence is happening. They're shooting everyone. But again, as I always say, and a lot of us say, this is not a gun problem.
As I learn more about this young man and read his story, I think it's abundantly clear that this is a very angry and unstable and possibly disturbed individual with a long pattern, a literal pattern, history, record of substance abuse. And unfortunately, devastatingly so, there is a lot of that in our culture, in our society today. And that is the problem that we should be addressing first.
Why wouldn't our focus be on making our populace healthier and stronger versus taking away rights from people who are healthy and who are law abiding? That is my question. Or I guess the better thing to say is that is my response to the people who will inevitably respond with that sort of ban all guns sentiment.
Now, I have spent this entire episode talking about Mr. Cornhole because that's what the internet is but I obviously do want to share my condolences to the family of Bradrick Michael Wells, because this is the young man that was shot. Now, according to somebody close to him who spoke to Fox, he was a car and motocross enthusiast, and he was a new father to a young baby girl.
A baby girl just lost her father. Now, in a separate interview, Bradwick's father spoke to the press.

Chapter 5: How did the witnesses respond after the shooting incident?
This article reads, Michael Wells, 64, said in an interview on Tuesday, so earlier today, that his son was closely acquainted with the accused shooter, Dayton James Weber, 27, and that the two hunted deer together, recently killing two bucks. Quote, he was very loving, speaking about his son. He tried to do everything for people. He helped this guy who killed him, Wells said of his son.
The father said he had been on Webber's property and watched Bradwick clean his house. Brad helped him a lot as far as like a caregiver and Webber's parents even loved Brad. They liked Brad because he didn't take advantage of him, meaning not taking advantage of Dayton. And this is really where it gets interesting to me and it ties back to Dayton's track record.
But Wells said that his son told him that some people took advantage of Weber because he had money. But he had a different kind of friendship with Bradwick. Wells said that Bradwick had recently bought a new car and was even storing it on Weber's property the day of the shooting. The father said he questioned his son about spending time with Weber, who he said had an unstable reputation.
Who knows why he slept like that. access to money, he had a lot of money, and an unstable reputation. Now, going back, looking through his records, I did find a lawsuit that was filed on Dayton's behalf back in 2000, when he would have been about four years old, because he was born in 1998.
He and his family allegedly, based on what I can see from public court records, sued a whole slew of doctors and medical institutions, I'm guessing maybe for possibly misdiagnosing him as a child, not catching his illness soon enough, something with his amputation, I'm not sure, but it was a large suit against doctors medical malpractice in some regard.
Now this case went on, it was deliberated and fought until 2017 and then based on what I can see and assume it was settled outside of court because it is closed and that might answer the money question, it might answer the extensive resources he had for all of these fancy go-karts that people talked about in articles, the fancy trucks, the Teslas, all of the guns, it might answer that question.
And again, I'm just, you know, assuming based on what I can see, but I'm just trying to put the puzzle pieces of this man's life together because again, based on the public information from ESPN and the Today Show, like this is totally unsurprising because he's this inspiration. He's a ray of positivity and hopefulness. But when you dig into the story, that's not actually what I found.
Like this is somebody who, in the public eye, acted as a kind of inspiration, a positive beacon of hope for his community, but behind the scenes was allegedly incredibly unstable, abused substances, even as a teenager, allegedly had significant resources to blow, and possibly limited accountability due to his situation.
Again, I'm just assuming, maybe projecting based on the fact that this DUI was expunged, even when he hit a cop car, I don't know, but that's just kind of my read on the situation. I mean, the entire thing, obviously, it is so absurd. I understand why the internet is just losing their mind over it and why the memes that are going crazy, but the entire thing is just so tragic, obviously.
