This is a double murder trial. Bolamar Condon is accused of killing Jesse Baird and Luke Davies in early 2024, and yesterday, as the trial got underway, we got our clearest image ever of what the prosecution says unfolded on that day, and of the relationships at the centre of these deaths. Yeah, there was an incredible amount of detail in the Crown's opening and it's still not finished. The Crown Prosecutor's been speaking for uh I think around two hours and he's still not at the end of that address. But what really stuck out to me was uh the level of detail they seem to be intending to go into about the previous relationship between Bolamar Condon and Jesse Baird and his alleged behavior when when that ended, there's a a huge amount of detail that they seem to uh be pointing towards. That's gonna come out during this trial.

Yeah, I'll I'll give it a try. So the Crown's opening address provided a huge level of detail about the evidence to come and painted a picture of Bolama Condon as a person who did not take the end of a relationship well after it appeared that Jesse Baird didn't reciprocate his uh much stronger feelings. The Crown suggested that this then senior constable developed an obsessive and jealous infatuation with Jesse Baird. And they said that that manifested in a series of intrusive and compulsive behaviours, which the Crown will characterize as stalking. It's alleged that included things like monitoring his relationships with other men, improperly obtaining CCTV, engineering chance meetings, interfering with his social media and his phone, breaking into his house, sabotaging his vehicle, and even stealing a house key.
And the Crown said. He also took steps to prepare for the alleged murder of Jesse, including using a hire car, disguising himself as an Uber Eats rider. And it's alleged that he then went to certain lengths to cover up after the fact, including allegedly shooting Luke Davies to eliminate him as a witness.
