Well, hello there, chippers. It's Monday morning in Georgia, although I'm in South Carolina. Ian Carter's in Georgia, a regular special guest. Eddie Pepperell is in Oxfordshire. Who knows where Rory McIlroy is in the state of bliss? Perhaps a state of headache. I'm not sure.
Most importantly, I think we wonder what Ian Carter's watch is telling him now after offering the wise words that closing your eyes will help you sleep. How are you, Ian? What's it saying?
I'm all right. I'm just having a look to see what my battery is. Well, the watch battery or your personal battery? My body battery is 15. That's terrible. I would take that. That's really awful. I've already lost four today.
If I hit double figures, I'm happy. So, Eddie, what's your aura ring telling you?
Yeah, it was down this morning considerably, but not as low as 15, so I'm holding it better than the badger over there.
The badger's just crawling along the side of the road at the moment. It could be roadkill in this pod. You're in an echoey room as well.
Are you in your accommodation? I am, yes. All rooms in American houses seem to be echoey. They don't really do the carpet thing, do they? So I've got... sort of wood panel floors here in the house. All my colleagues, they've gone off. They're going to go and play crazy golf actually now.
Oh yeah, that was the tradition. That's always the tradition. Yeah, I took it too seriously. I think I got banned.

Chapter 2: What are the initial thoughts on Rory McIlroy's performance at the Masters?
I stumbled over the line. So, you know, I think it's just, it's hard to win golf tournaments. It's hard to win majors. That's why not many people do it. And, you know, I think just to prove to myself that I can do it again. And I, you know, I said, you know, afterwards, I'd love to get another opportunity where I'm in the lead standing on the 13th tee and see if I would handle it differently.
And I had that opportunity this year and I did handle it differently, which was great.
It can't get much better than have the chairman put the jacket on your shoulders because that tells a different story, doesn't it?
It does, yeah. It's pretty rare. We had to practice it before we went into Butler Cabin because he'd never done it before. But yeah, that's what I said. I said at the end of my speech last year, I'll hopefully see everyone next year where I'm putting the green jacket back on myself. I wasn't quite correct there, but the next best thing is having the chairman put it on.
Chapter 3: What reflections did Eddie Pepperell share about the Masters?
And yeah, that was... That was the goal this week was, you know, I drove down Magnolia Lane with the green jacket and I want to drive back up Magnolia Lane leaving with the green jacket again because I've gotten used to seeing it in my wardrobe. I've gotten used to wearing it at places and it's just so cool that I get to do it for another year.
You had a lovely exchange with Sir Nick Faldo immediately after the ceremony. The only other European to have that achievement of successfully defending the Masters. Can you tell us about that?
Yeah, he came to find me, which I thought was amazing. We had a lovely time at the Champions Dinner on Tuesday, and then we tried to recreate a photo from 20 years ago where I was part of the Faldo series, and he was presenting prizes. I was a 16-year-old, and so we recreated that photo, but he left me a lovely note, so he won back-to-back in 89 and 90,
And I won back to back in the 89th and 90th Masters. So a little bit of a tie in there. But yeah, it was lovely that Nick came to find me. And we have a long history and a long relationship.
Chapter 4: How did Rory's emotional state affect his gameplay during the tournament?
I've known Nick since I was 12 or 13 years old. So to emulate one of his amazing achievements is very, very special.
How does this win compare with last year?
I think last year was the culmination of trying to win the Grand Slam and win the Masters for the first time, win my first major in 10 years. It was all of it together. This is obviously amazing. It's my second green jacket. It's very cool, but I really don't think I'm going to have the the like lull or whatever it was I had last year of like trying to figure out, okay, what's next?
Because I've went through that and I realized, well, what's next is you just keep going and you just keep trying to have more success and keep winning the biggest tournaments that there are to win in the world. I was glad last year that the whole Grand Slam thing was done because that really was what I was chasing.
And now going forward, it's just everything is just icing on the cake or a cherry on top or all gravy, whatever you want to call it. But yeah, I feel like I can just go and play my game and have a chance to win a lot more majors.
And as a final thought, that manifested itself, I thought, in your body language and how you looked when you were competing. You were battling to win, but there wasn't an air of desperation, if I could put it that way, about it. It was the difference between need and want, something like that. You're in the battle and it looked like you were reveling in it.
Yeah, I definitely felt more comfortable in the battle this year on the back nine than last year. And yeah, it is, it's a want more than a need. Not that, you know, I want to win the biggest tournaments in the world. I want to win Ryder Cups. I want to win majors like that. That's, at this point in my career, that is what drives me forward.

Chapter 5: What insights did Ian Carter provide about Rory's strategy and performance?
And I think it would have really stung to, if I hadn't went on to win this tournament after building such a commanding lead over the first two days, it would have stung. But at the same time,
I would have dusted myself off and I would have came back for the PGA at Aronamink or the US Open at Shinnecock or Birkdale or whatever it is, but it's such an amazing start to the major season and I can't wait for what lies ahead.
There we are, Rory and the Badger, which sounds like a children's book, which I might write. I'm going to use that. Rory and the Badger. It's a young boy and his pet badger and they solve crimes and get up to all sorts of mischief, all sorts of scrapes, but they're good at heart. Anyway, so... More importantly, that was nice to hear from Rory McIlroy.
