I like that one. Thank you. Yeah, it was good. One of those guys at the auction that kind of do the auction video. Zaz made a face like he smelled a fart.
Yeah, I'm sure everyone's going to enjoy that. Chris, you have some observations from the local hour for us?
Yes, you referenced in there out of nowhere you were like, my 17-year-old son called me and I was just like, First of all, before we get to you and your son, how do you guys answer the phone? Depending on who's calling you. Because I have a lot of ways. If it's a number I don't know, it's hello. Because I don't want them to know in case I need to pretend I'm not me. I need a hello.
This is a good question because... Now that you have everyone's number stored in your phone and you see the name pop up, it's kind of weird if you just say the regular hello as if you don't know who's on the other line.
Yeah, I mean I think that you greet them the same way you would in person because it's as if you're seeing their face because you know who they are. I think the interesting thing that you brought up is You answer numbers you don't know, and I do too sometimes. But the question is, what are the ones? How do you answer? How do you decide which ones you're going to answer? When the scam is unlikely.
Does it say that for you? I have a scam likely and a scam unlikely. Really? Yeah, for sure.
Scam unlikely? Yeah, unlikely. That means it could be. No, no. I know what it means. That wasn't the part. That was not the part I was confused about. You got an update?

Chapter 2: How do you answer the phone in different situations?
My phone don't do that. I know what the word unlikely means. So if it doesn't say scam likely, I assume it means not likely. But you have a setting that actually says, you know what? Real unlikely to scam. Sometimes they get scam likely. Sometimes they get potential spam. You know what I think? That's another one. I'm looking at it right here. Scam likely, potential scam.
I think you got a case on your hands. Apple out here telling you it's not a scam. What if you get scammed? You need to call up a lawyer and get Apple. They got money. Do you get spam risk? No, I get potential spam, and then I get scam likely and scam unlikely. Scam unlikely is absurd. I've never had scam unlikely. I got spam risk. Spam risk? Yeah, we all get spam risk.
So yeah, if I happen to... Hello? Because just in case they're like, is this Chris? You owe us a million dollars. Nope. Because remember, I didn't answer like me. I feel like, and this is maybe just a weird thing about me, is I feel like based on the number, if it doesn't say scam likely or it doesn't say spam risk, it doesn't say unlikely for me.
I feel like I can look at the number and know whether it's a real person calling or a real business calling or it's a scam based on the numbers, which I don't really know what I'm looking for. I think it's like a local area code. If I have a local area code, You get my interest.
And if the final numbers aren't like some good combination, when it's a good combination of numbers, it looks too clean. What's good combination? 1, 2, 3, 4? No, not 1, 2, 3, 4. Like if there's two zeros in it or something, you know where it looks like it's 2200. Right. Yeah. It's like, hey, it's the right area code. So I live in D.C. So it's 202. Then it's three numbers. And then it's like 2020.
Nah. Even if it don't say scam likely, I'm like, eh, I know what you're up to. So for professional phone calls, you know, got a meeting with somebody, someone calls, hey, name, whatever their name is.

Chapter 3: What are the implications of answering unknown calls?
Yeah. Hey, Bob. Right. Hey, Dan.
If it's people I know, like my son, hey.
Just a hey? Yeah. My dad goes, hey, boy. I hit him with a, what up? There's always, what up? Or like if it's family, if it's like immediate family, kids or my wife, I know that they're only calling for a reason. So it's, we got to get right to it. So you say what? Nah, that sounds rude. A friend that calls too much, yo. Yeah, we're, yeah. Oh, yeah.
If I get, if I'm instantly like this person hates me, if they answer the phone, yeah, that's they hate me. They're bothered by you. That's what that means. Yeah. But why are they calling? Send the text. I know that I'm wrong in that. Like, that's the wrong way to feel. But generally, I've gotten better at this. Like, my producer and co-host, Charlie, he calls me a lot.
And he don't have a reason to call. He seems like a caller. He don't have a reason for calling. He just wants to talk. And I've come to really appreciate it. But every time the phone rings, I'm surprised because he don't, it's just like, hey, how you doing? And I like lose touch with friends because I don't call them. So like, I recognize it. I appreciate it.
I try to do this more and I do it in the worst way possible where I'll put in my calendar. called my homie Brandon. Oh, really?

Chapter 4: How do phone scams affect our daily lives?
And I called my homie Brandon and I'm like, hey, what's up? How you been? You good? Now it's like a meeting. I know. I hate it about myself. But otherwise, men really suck at that.
It's funny. Sebastian Maniscalco does a good bit on this where, remember when we were growing up, OK, you and I, Dominique, are close to the same age, but probably you guys over there as well, same experience.
Chapter 5: What are the differences between spam calls and legitimate calls?
If you're home and someone knocks on your door when you're going up and someone knocks on your door and rings the doorbell, this is a very exciting thing that's taking place right now.
Now I'm hiding.
And now if someone rings that doorbell or knocks on the door, I mean, everyone looks around and goes, what the hell is going on?
Dude, if I see it's a salesperson, I am like tiptoeing around. If my daughter, she's like, daddy, you're going to hear us. Daddy, the TV's on. It doesn't matter. Yep. You got any other observations from the local hour? I did, actually. I want to ask this question here, and don't take offense to it. Are you too good of a father, Zaz?
Because you are constantly referencing, I did this with my son, I called my son. It's just like, if it's possible, you might be too good of a father.
Here's the thing. I'm totally self-aware. Or you need friends. I'm totally self-aware when it comes to stuff like this. You could say that I'm a really good father. I do all these things. I take my boys. We do all that. But there's also a huge element to all these things that I do where I'm doing the things that I want to do. And I'm lucky that either both my boys or especially my younger son
is really into the things that I like to do. So it's kind of childish behavior. Wrestling, movies. Right, right. It's somewhat childish behavior on my part.
Do you recognize specific things in either of your sons that's like, this is definitely me, or this is definitely their mother? Or is there one of the sons that you're like, yeah, that one's me, this one isn't necessarily me? Do you see yourself in them, in behaviors and actions and the way that they carry themselves?
Yes, oh my god, the older one for sure. The older one is super moody. He's at that age course, so he's super moody around the house. But he's also the kid who outside the house, all the parents, the mothers, they love him. And so we get the whole, oh, your son was at our house the other day. He's so great. Like, really? That kid? You know, like, that was me growing up.

Chapter 6: What happens when family members call unexpectedly?
Fast take.
Fast take.
Fast take. That's right, Dominique. You've been on First Take before, right?
I have been, and the music is not nearly this good.
Okay, well, this isn't First Take. This is Fast Take, where you can't let any time go by. There is no waiting. It doesn't matter if you're right or if you're wrong. The thing happens, and you got to get out there immediately. Not even first, like First Take. You got to get out there with the fastest. And so our very first host of Fast Take is the one and only Nick Wright.
Teams that right now I expect to be better in next year's regular season than Miami just in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks, the Celtics, more on them in a minute, the Pistons, and the Cavs. That's four teams I expect to be better than them in the regular season. Now the Pistons and the Cavs, I don't have a lot of faith for them in the postseason and we'll see what moves they make.
But that does not, teams that should be eye to eye with the Heat. The Hawks, who were awesome post-Trey Young trade. The Pacers, assuming Halliburton comes back as anything like the Halliburton were used to. And while they're bummed they don't have their draft pick, they do have Zubats.
Well, I mean, how are you supposed to communicate with that? They do have Zubats. But we are less than two days removed from the Miami Heat acquiring a superstar.

Chapter 7: Why do people feel uncomfortable with phone calls?
All right? Top three, four player in the league, however you want to put it. Free agency hasn't even begun. Literally. Free agency has not even started. Nick Wright already knows, he's already mapped out, because he gave the top four, Boston, New York, Cleveland, Detroit, and then gave us the other teams that are on the level of Miami, including Atlanta and Indiana.
So within two days of the trade happening, free agency hasn't even started yet. Nick Wright knows the top seven seeds in the Eastern Conference next year.
And he also gave room for those teams to get better. So implicit in that is that the Heat might also get better.
I didn't get that impression from it. It seems like other teams can improve. Remember, because free agency hasn't started yet. Other teams can improve, but the Heat, they're locked.
Yeah, the Heat are going to stay with seven people on their roster. They're not going to get any better whatsoever. On Monday, when we were talking about the situation prior to the actual trade happening, there was already a lot of chatter with Nick Wright, and on Monday I said he's disclosed from being banned from the program. Fast take. Hit it again, Roy.
I think he might be banned from the program.
Fast take. Fast take. Fast take.
Ah yes, once again, today's host of Fast Take, Nick Wright.
Not writing them off, we'll wait and see version teams. I don't expect to be as good as the Heat, but I can't flatly say have no shot at it. Toronto, Orlando, and Philly. So where do I expect the Heat to be next year? No better than fifth and no worse than seventh in the East. Winning a round, certainly possible. Winning two rounds, very unlikely. Winning three rounds, I would be utterly stunned.
