On the Look Back At It podcast. 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year.
It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to Look Back At It on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Chapter 2: What are the implications of Steve Kerr's potential departure from the Warriors?
It was not a rehearsed bit. Yeah, that's what you're saying. You rehearsed that. Not a rehearsed bit. You looked in your mirror before you came in to do the show. You rehearsed it. Like, this is what I'm going to hit him with when Brady hits me with it. You thought it was good, too, huh? For anybody that recalls that Sunday night show, there was not a lot of rehearsal done. It was a wild...
What's that supposed to mean? Well, you know, I mean, we would have people call in who were just butchered listening all over the country, trying to avoid having to wake up for work the next day. Just it was a mess, man. I fell out of my chair on the it was the Viking Saints. In Minnesota, the Stephon Diggs catch? Yeah, we caught the Marcus Williams who tackled a ghost.
And then Stephon Diggs ran and scored. And we were on the air before Brady lost it. I literally leaned back because I fell back out of it. It sounded like I choked on a cigarette kind of laughing. It was so bad. Yeah, there was a lot going on during that time slot. But, you know, here we are. And let me tell you something about what's going to be happening here on this network.
Because there's a lot going on Thursday night. Because it's the draft. The NFL draft. And Fox Sports Radio's Draft Night Live is this Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern time throughout the first round of the draft. It's a who's who hosting this draft. Insider, Jay Glazer. I'll be speaking with writers, researchers, and other health and fitness experts and more to look past the impractical and way too complex pseudoscience that dominates the wellness industry.
We really believe that seed oils were inherently inflammatory. We got it wrong. Many of the problems that we are freaked out about in the world are the result of stress. Put yourself through some hardships, and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person.

Chapter 4: What factors influence the current state of the Golden State Warriors?
If I had to tell you how many times I had to tell a guy. Stop trying to catch the ball with one hand. If I could tell you the amount of times I heard coaches say the same exact thing, it would blow your mind. He totally revolutionized, which, by the way, Chris Carter was doing it for a long time. Randy Moss was doing it. There was a few guys that were doing it. But OBJ made it a...
It was a movement. It turned into its own thing, and now nobody has a problem. It's actually celebrated. Look at him. He caught it. It's almost even common now to see guys catch the ball with one hand. Now it's like, how do you catch the ball? As if you could imagine, you could outdo OBJ's one-handed catch has been outdone by other one-handed catches since that's happened.
So I think the relevance of OBJ is connected to him having a moment in time that kind of crystallized how we viewed OBJ. He became a larger-than-life figure. His brand was larger than football. It went beyond the parameters of football. But in terms of football-wise, fellas...
looking at it where it's at now that's more sentimental value more than anything else because i think at this point i mean he didn't even play a snap of football last year um and if you guys recall i i believe he has a situation with peds so he you know he's trying to to capture he almost loves that by the way was he on the gas let's see piss hot oh Let's see. I think he did. Let's see.
OBJ PEDs. All right. Let me look that up here. Listen, all I'm saying is that he's trying to capture a fountain of youth, probably still loves playing the game. I got six games. Doesn't want to stop playing the game. Elevated testosterone levels. Jonas, speculate. Jonas, what do you think it was? Come on. Jonas loves this stuff.
um no one no one loves when guys test positive for peds and jokes oh yeah because i'm i just hearken back to the old days the good old days when you would just meet up with some random guy who had a brown paper bag with the goods in it you give him some cash and next thing you know you got a needle in your ass like yeah just gassed to the gills jonas also believes that the uh the oil change they did in the movie the program if you recall yeah
He still thinks that goes on, too. He's imagining, was it Bill Romanowski just sitting in his room and they're giving an oil change? They did say Bill Romanowski had a suitcase. That's what Jonas thinks that you were doing the night before games. Never used. Although I feel like I rethink it. If I could have done it all over again, maybe I should have, man.
You start to hear things after you've retired. You start to learn about what people's habits were. Can you use peptides in the NFL? Is that banned there as well, too? I don't know. I think it is. I think it's banned. But there's a lot of people who look at it and go, why? It's a big thing right now. Old peptides.
RFK would say why.

Chapter 5: What challenges do teams face in rebuilding after a dynasty?
Yeah. For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history. Listen to Look Back at It on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio. He's LeVar Arrington. That guy's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. In for Dan and the guys. You can hear us weekday mornings before Dan and the Danettes on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe every weekday morning, 6 a.m. Eastern Time, 3 o'clock Pacific.
But we have you covered here on the Dan Patrick Show until the end of this hour, noon Eastern Time, 9 o'clock Pacific. You can listen to the show on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country. If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate you doing so. You can also watch along on YouTube as well, too, at 2prosFSR. That is at 2prosFSR.
As we are waxing poetically here on this Tuesday morning, talking all things NBA with the playoffs and Steve Kerr and what the hell is going to happen there. Billy Donovan just walked away from the Bulls job. He has resigned as head coach. So now we continue the journey on.
We're going to hopefully catch up with our guy Bruce Feldman here, who does a deep dive before the draft to get the feedback from scouts, executives about what the feeling is on some of these prospects with the NFL draft coming up. And Bruce really connected and does a really good job of gathering this information. A true deep dive.
If you're a football nerd and you want to find out the ins and outs of this draft, he's broken down just about every angle and every position there is. One of the coolest things Bruce does is he's got the freaks list that usually comes out before every college football season.
And it's basically kind of paints out a light on just the freaky athleticism you'll see from a lot of the different players. Could be strength, could be movement, could be explosion, whatever it is. He finds a way of tapping into that and talking to a lot of the different college coaching staffs, etc.
But this time of year, what's neat is he then applies that same approach, talking to a lot of the NFL teams. and some of the coaching staffs, and some of the front office folks about what they see in these players.
And so a lot of that stuff, you know, if you follow them for the college game, you'll see some of those same names pop up, too, that are that freaky athleticism that you're looking for at the next level. So let's welcome him in. He is Bruce Feldman. You see him on Fox. You can read him at The Athletic. Best-selling author, and you can get him on X at Bruce Feldman CFB.
