Chapter 2: What updates are there on Reaves and Luka?
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year. It was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to Look Back at It on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host, Kier Gaines. This space is about Black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men...
carry a suit of armor it signals to the world that you not to be played with and just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to listen to learn the hard way on the iHeartRadio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts

That's how it goes, right? So I don't have to get ready.
It's Covino and Rich, Fox Sports Radio, an action-packed Taco Tuesday. Let's go. You're wiping down the studio like someone's got the plague. Yeah, bro, I don't trust it, man. These dirt merchants that work in this building. I mean, you know. Rob Parker or Stu Gotts has polio or something? How dare you, Rob Parker. What are you doing?
Rob Parker, one of the only guys that talks sense in this building. I'm a big fan of Rob Parker.
That's right. That's right.
We're the same cat. Yeah, yeah. Me and him, we're the same couple. Me and Rob. Same cat. Covino and Rich. That's this show right here. Thanks for being part of it with Danny G. Wait, you've been covering baseball since 1987 too? I have, yes, because I'm a huge baseball fan. Since I was in diapers. Thanks for rocking out with us. Did I do that? Got any cheese? Did I do that? We got Dan Beyer.

Chapter 3: What makes Fernando Mendoza stand out in sports?
It's not just L.A.
It's everywhere. You always say that.
There's weenie parents everywhere.
But the simple fact, Danny, you drove in. Did you really think they expected their kids to play when they're wearing sandals and socks to the game? Can you imagine, Danny, a parent calling, and I described the weather perfectly, like overcast but not raining. Would you believe someone would say, is the game canceled? Like, what? Yeah, of course. That's great sports weather.
It's like cool, cloudy. So what do you respond? I don't know, but I respond sort of rudely. Like, yeah, it's not raining. Unless it's pouring, show up. And a couple parents hit me up on the side and like, thanks for shutting up the weenies. I can't imagine that.
When I was a kid, and I'm sure when you were a kid, if it was even raining hard the day of a Little League game or a football game or something, I'd be like, we're good. We're good. It's a weak feeling to be on the fence, like wondering if it's going to be canceled or not. Like, oh man, that's the weakest feeling ever. But it's not even raining out.
You're cut from one of two cloths, and we're going to get to Mendoza in a second, but you're cut from one of two cloths. You're cut from the, I want to play. I don't care about the rain. The field will be fine. Or you're a big wuss ass that's like, oh, I think the game, maybe I think it'll be canceled. Get your kid off the team. Get out of here. You know what you made me think of?
You've never indicated more in my life that you are not a gamer, that you are not a baller of any sorts in any sport. If you're like the first sign of a cloud, you're like, oh, the game's canceled, I think. If you're telling me that there's weenie parents out there, trust me. I know it. Don't be a weenie parent is the reminder. Don't be a weenie parent.
Let's move on to weenie parents raise weenie kids.

Chapter 4: How did the Knicks blow their recent game?
Fernando Mendoza. Everything about this guy is likable. There's no denying it. His college journey, the relationship he has with his mother. I didn't like how short he made me feel when we took that picture. I didn't like that.
Chapter 5: What are the implications of the NBA playoffs for the Lakers?
I'm like, why you got to be all 6'5"? feeling alive. The story about Miami, how he goes back there to win a national title, him diving in the end zone, putting his body on the line, the speeches. Putting everything else first. Putting the city of Pittsburgh first. The other draft picks, watching them, how happy he's going to feel. Always putting his teammates ahead of his accomplishments.
Saying he's going to take care of ESPN and be a good partner to the NFL.
I can't wait to be a league ambassador. He puts all the right things ahead of his selfish ways. Okay. Well, here's my question. Because this is a good one then.
Because I just say he's selfless.
Very rarely. Does someone seem so unflawed in the world of sports, entertainment, pop culture, politics, you name it? Eventually, something will happen.

Chapter 6: What is the significance of the upcoming NFL draft?
So here's my question to Fox Sports Radio's nation. God! Mendoza is perfect until blank. What's going to be the first thing to drop? When is there going to be a story, a narrative? Is it poor play on the field? Is it some training camp squabble? Like, what? Because... Name the athlete. There's not an athlete in the history of sports that has gone unscathed. The great Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter.
I mean, Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods. You name it. And by the way, who was more polished? Who seemed like he'd never get into trouble more than Tiger Woods? Mahomes. Remember at one point his brother causing chaos in the booth, his dad getting arrested. You know, Kelsey. Okay, so it could be outside sources and forces. What's the misstep? Or the controversy?
What's the thing that makes him no longer perfect? Because no one in any sport is Curt Hedding. Except for Derek Jeter. No, Derek Jeter, remember? Oh, he gave girls gift baskets. That's all fake. I know, but what I'm saying is. He just got in trouble for partying late a few times. That was about it. Otherwise, perfect blueprint, perfect career. So, Mendoza. Fernando Mendoza is perfect until.
Until what? That's the question, Fox Sports Radio Nation. Until when? He gets a stripper pregnant at Spearmint Rhino Las Vegas. That ain't happening. But you know what? Yeah, it might be. Imagine if he gets caught up with some scandalous woman. And we're going to have the baby shower here at home with my family.
Oh, man. There's 800 of us.
That's a lot of baby gifts, by the way. What happens in the world of Mendoza? Because he could be the greatest family man. He could end up winning Super Bowls. I root for the guy because he seems like a great fella. But there'll be something. I'm just curious what that something's going to be. But when you brought up Patrick Mahomes, for example, right?

Chapter 7: Why do parents worry about weather during kids' sports?
I mean, dude's pretty perfect, stellar career. What brings him down is outside sources, not necessarily anything he did. There were stories of his brother.
Yeah, but that's not his fault.
No, but remember his wife had a reputation for a second. I'm just saying maybe it's someone else in his camp or someone else in his crew. Recently, his dad almost went to jail and he was fighting John Rocker. But again, that shouldn't be a reflection on Patrick Mahomes.
But I'm just saying that is something.
But it is. Yeah, no, it's something. Shohei Otani, the gambling accusations with the interpreter. Until then, Shohei Otani was near... Perfect.
You're digging up dirt on everybody. How about LeBron?
LeBron? LeBron, cheating accusations, right? And he's all about me. Maybe the criticism simply comes from him not being ready for the NFL. Like, he's still got to get his reps in. Even the late, great Kobe Bryant, who is one of the most beloved guys...
accusations and the denver hotel and cheating and stuff like there's always every someone's got something and i just wonder what that thing for mendoza is because right now the kid seems damn near perfect how about kirk cousins Oh, he overcharged his Kohl's card. And that was a big scandal.
He forgot to tip it.

Chapter 8: How does Fernando Mendoza's decision impact his career?
Pacific. And it's brought to you by Express Bros and Weebles. It's all I'm doing for, man. On Fox Sports Radio. 2%. That is the number of people who take the stairs when there is also an escalator available. I'm Michael Easter, and on my podcast, 2%, I break down the science of mental toughness, fitness, and building resilience in our strange modern world.
I'll be speaking with writers, researchers, and other health and fitness experts and more to look past the impractical and way too complex pseudoscience that dominates the wellness industry. We really believe that seed oils were inherently inflammatory. We got it wrong. Many of the problems that we are freaked out about in the world are the result of stress.
Put yourself through some hardships, and you will come out on the other side a happier, more fulfilled, healthier person.
