Even back when you were watching football back in the day, sacks was not real. It became real. Now it's entrenched. Shots discouraged for Wemby probably won't. But I went back and looked.

I think it was 61 to 74. And he is officially now credited with 173.5 sacks that is on his Pro Football Reference based off NFL Films. I'm going to have to call. You know what? I got my friend who was a Big Ten official sent me his flag. So I got my, you know, when you throw a flag, this is the BS flag. I just threw it against the window there. I threw the BS flag on that. Chapter 8: How does Jamal Crawford view Wemby's potential?
So you said he had 300 sacks? I don't know how many. Let's say 250. Okay, because I was going to say 300, if you divide it by 14, he would have averaged 21 sacks a season. And you weren't throwing the ball that much back then. If you threw it 20 times, it's like, oh, my God. So now you're throwing the ball 35 times. The chances, the opportunities for these guys and more games to get more sacks.
Back then, you might have quarterbacks throw 12 to 15 times because it was a running game. Yeah, Paul? According to pro football reference in NFL films, Deacon Jones had a run where he had seasons in a row, 22-19-16, 22-22-15 for sacks. That's a run. Woo!

When you pass the ball. It's like, I'm going to go. Oh, no, no, no, no. This is where when you face somebody who is taller, a lot taller, you must make the extra pass.
It's really imperative because they can cover so much ground, but But they're not quick enough to be able to cover the ground if you have really good passing. And you're going to have to do that with Wemby. You must move the ball. Because if you give him that opportunity where he can cover you in the paint and cover you at the three-point line, you must make him move as much as possible.
Portland wasn't able to do that. Look, Portland made the playoffs. Give them credit. I mean, keep in mind what happened with Chauncey Billups during the season. And not a lot of marquee names, but they did make the playoffs, which is a big positive for that franchise. They love their basketball there.
Gave me one of the greatest years of my life when the Blazers with Bill Walton won the NBA title. Now that... was basketball. That was teamwork. That was a team that ran. That was a team that beat the 76ers with Dr. J. That team might be, I'm trying to think, most talented teams that didn't win a title.
