Oh!
Guten Morgen. Good day. It's Friday. Covino and Rich in for DP live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. And you can watch all the fun right now and see how Rich looks like a young Dane Cook. That's what it says right here. YouTube.com slash at Covino and Rich FSR. What up, Dane Cook? Not you. Actual Dane Cook. He might be listening. YouTube.com slash at Covino and Rich FSR.
Yeah, Frank Caliendo listens. Oh, the Sandman listens. We're glad you listen. And painting such a funny picture right now. Let me tell you what I'm thinking about. And by the way, great job on the glockenspiel, Sam. Sam on the ones and twos. Sammy Sweetheart. Iowa Sam. And, of course, Danny G. The smoothest, most buttery voice in all the land. He's our super producer. 877-99 on Fox.
I know we're done talking about tailgating, but I'm reading the feedback because we've got the live chat going on the YouTube. Of course. Look at it this way, Steve. We're introducing the entire world to tailgating. You know, I often wonder, like, what is American culture? Burgers and WWE?
Yeah.

Chapter 3: Why do fans feel entitled to know about athletes' personal lives?
That's really what you're saying. Like, this is who we are. We're face-painted beer helmet hooligans. Happy WrestleMania weekend. Yeah, I mean, that's what we're really saying. Like, this is our culture. I don't know. Can't we, like, find some other stuff to do? And then you're painting it out that I'm this guido from New Jersey, which I am. I'm from Union, New Jersey, right? Don't be a denial.
I'm also a vato loco forever. But, you know, you had me thinking about Silvio or Pauly Walnuts, are those the type of guys who would tailgate, you think? Can you imagine Silvio from The Sopranos walking up like, hey, Pauly Walnuts, what are you guys doing over here? So you're right. Culturally, it just depends where you're from and what you're into.
No one here was knocking tailgating, but they're not saying no more tailgating ever. They're saying for the World Cup, state by state. You forget our country is a big place, and it's, as Sam and I were saying before, depending on where you go, it's very different. You grew up pumping your fist in New Jersey. Got my hands in my pockets like I'm Silvio.
Oh, my wife grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, outside of San Antonio. I remember when we first started dating, she took me to a country bar called Cowboys, and people were line dancing in unison like they were in a Freddie Prinze Jr. video. That's when you wore that Cowboy Curtis outfit, right? Woo! Hey, peewee. And I remember thinking, like, am I being pranked right now? We live in a country.
There's a lot of different cultures. And I think tailgating and that great caller nailed it last hour. Tailgating and football is an event. There's 81 home games. I think the game is the event. And that's just part of it. But, hey, oh, oh, what do you know? What do I know? Oh, in baseball, 81 home games, half of that. In basketball and hockey.

Chapter 4: How do social media dynamics affect athletes' privacy?
In football, you get eight opportunities to throw a big-ass party, and that's what football does. So, the end. Football, this is, and this is the last time I'm going to say it, this is football, bro. All right. So, anyway, there's lots more to get to. We're giving away prizes. We got Brainwave coming up. It's the game that's sweeping the nation.
And Weekend Hobnob, and that's when we get you ready for the weekend, what to watch in the world of sports and entertainment. We're Covino, C-O-V-I-N-O, Covino and Rich. So, the last couple days, a few stories have been on our radar. And it's really interesting because they both sort of took a little bit of a turn. And I wanted to just sort of recap where we're at with two big stories.
One being Diana Rossini and Mike Rabel. and one being AZ Fudd and Paige Beckers. And there's the sentiment between both of them that's the same. And it's, what are we owed as fans? What are we owed as just people that watch the game? Like, the two stories, obviously, AZ Fudd and Paige Beckers, WNBA, two first-round picks on the same team, and they're dating.
And then you got Coach Ray Bull and the alleged situation with Diana Rossini. What are we owed from either one? Because we talked about how it's shocking how no one's really talking about how AZ Fudd and Paige Beckers are two women that are in a relationship that are now going to be sharing a court together.
Yeah, and we said, hey, that's great now, and they've proven they could win together at UConn. Great, grand, wonderful. You can do it. But what if... You can do it all night. What if... And again, we have the understanding, of course, they're professionals. But what if things don't pan out? How does that affect them and the team moving forward? As a franchise, as a business, I would say...
That's fair to question. Yeah, and you and I were saying that very few people in the media world are even talking about this. I felt like you said it was reporter Dave Perlman and us. Yeah, Jeff Perlman. Did I say Dave? You said Dave. I think that's a record label guy. Danny G, play the clip from a press conference with the Dallas Wings because this is what sort of put me over the top with this.
Paige announced last year on TikTok that y'all were a couple, and I'm wondering if that is still the case, and if so, if y'all have talked to any other couples in the league about how they negotiate that dynamic as pro teammates. I understand why you have to ask that question, but we're going to respectfully decline from commenting on our players' personal lives.

Chapter 5: What are the top three wrestling talkers mentioned?
The next question.
He positioned it in a pretty decent way, I thought. In the most polite way he possibly could. Because have you talked to anyone else? Because you imagine, or we know for a fact, in the WNBA, this is not the first time, but these are big, high-profile names. That's what makes it different. And let's be fair. We've never really had to think about it. this hard before as sports fans.
As you said the other day, it's not like Scott Brocious and Derek Jeter had something going on. Exactly. Right? As far as I know. And chemistry is hard enough to find and build on its own. This is just another level of complexities here for the Dallas Wings. That's all. So, I think... The team— It's a fascinating story. It's not coming from a judgmental place.
It's like, hey, this is new territory for a lot of other sports fans. Like, how does this work out? But you don't think it's wild that the team didn't even come up with, like, a politically correct staple answer? They were like, yeah, we're just not talking about it. But then it got me thinking, like— And AZ Fudge just sat there. She listened.
It almost looked like she had something to say, but they wouldn't let her say it. Yeah. I don't know that between that and we've heard a lot of people saying, in fact, NFL insiders are saying Coach Rabel is going to have to address this. Especially with his team, because he's the type of guy that's like, you know, everything's out there in the public.
We're accountable for ourselves and each other. So does Coach Rabel. Innocent or not. And AZ Fudd and Paige Beckers have to address the fans and the media. Or is this a case of, mind your own damn business? Because I wonder, so many times we say... We need to know. But it's like, you know what? It's really. Mark Anthony needs to know. I don't think it's really any of our business.

Chapter 6: How does the podcast celebrate WrestleMania 42?
But when you live in a world where these leagues and social media. It's such a blurred line, Rich, because of social media and because we live in a world where. The fans feed the product. The fans and the drama feed the product. So, like, do we need answers? I don't think we deserve them, but I think it's weird when everyone's talking about it. Then you're like, no comment. I don't know.
I have a question. I truly do not know this. I don't follow AZFUD or Pagebackers on social media. Maybe I should. Are they publicly posting stuff like that about their relationship? Let me see. Are they throwing it out there? Because then I think that does change things. Because if you're putting it out there publicly, then I think it's open game. It's fair to question.
If you want to keep your personal life personal because that's who you are, and I get it. They don't want that to be the story. And it shouldn't be. Hey, she's the number one pick. That should be the story. I agree. That's a major accomplishment. You don't want anything to be overshadowed. But as a fan, as a small business owner, I mean, this is why we have HR courses at any job, right?
You're not supposed to be... with your coworkers. And if you are, people want to know and things like that. I'm not saying I'm not seeing any page backers on.
But Fudd has talked about her relationship on her iHeart podcast.
We talked about her podcast the other day and it says that she shares various topics, including her friendship with her teammate, her new teammate and dynamic between the two of them. Okay. So that changes my response. Thank you, Danny G, super producer. Fudd around and find out is... A great podcast. That podcast is getting some followers.
Yeah, definitely.

Chapter 7: What unique challenges do athletes face in public relationships?
Whether or not it's a good podcast, great name. Great name. Great name. Should we be giving iHeart some props? Maybe they're saying, listen, if you're going to be talking about your relationship, talk about it here, not at the press conference. Ratings, baby, ratings. Gold. Someone brought this up yesterday. On your own time. Yeah. No, but that goes to my point.
So if you're putting it out there publicly, then I think it's fair to question it, right? If the flip side were true, if it was like, yeah, we don't really talk about that and you were consistent with that, then I think, hey, we already know that that's not something that they discuss and that's not something that they're bringing public and you have to respect that.
So I think that changes in today's world. It's the social media culture that we live in where fans feel like they're owed everything. They're not. But when you're leaving little... What's it called? Breadcrumbs? When you're leaving breadcrumbs and putting it out there like that, then I think, yeah, you might have to explain. And maybe sidestepping it from the PR person...
I don't know if it just kicks the can down the road. If you just addressed it, maybe this story just goes away pretty quickly.
You know what? Maybe they think they address it by just saying we're not going to address it. I agree 100%. In fact, I just looked at AZFud's Instagram. No sign of pagebackers. It's not like it's like... It's a pretty private thing. It's not like, hey, look at us making s'mores on a date night.
But it's also relatively known if you follow women's college basketball or the WNBA that they are a thing. They're an item. A lot of people know that. But what if the Dallas Wings were just smart enough to be like, hey, it's unprecedented. Two stars that love each other. They're on our team. And you know what? We're going to navigate the best we could.
And we're just happy to have these two amazing women on our team. And you know what?

Chapter 8: How do the hosts reflect on the evolution of wrestling over the years?
As of now, That's all we're really going to talk about. We've got two great women. They happen to be together. They're very much in love, and this team is very much excited to have them. You know what, Rich? They're probably going to take a page right out of your book. They're going to take it right out of your book right there.
But I just gave you the perfect answer they could have gave instead of no comment. Although I agree, I've got to make this clear because I don't want to get dunked on again. I completely agree with Rich. I'm not trying to be posterized by the Dan Patrick Nation. I completely agree with Rich.
It's just that when you're a public figure, especially in today's world, it's not that the fans are owed anything. It's almost that they expect it at this point. Because no matter how much you give, they always want more. Look, Rich and I host on Fox Sports Radio Monday through Friday, 2 to 4 on the West. We have a Patreon where we're uncensored and personal. Patreon.com slash Covino and Rich.
We post about our personal lives and our families. You think you give enough, and it's never enough. They want to see you on the bowl. They want to know if you're using dude wipes. People want to know every little bit about what you're eating, drinking, doing, sniffing. They want to know everything. That's just the culture we live in now.
What are you sniffing, Steve?
You know what? That's personal, Sam. I'm not telling you. That's private. That's private. My point is, This is what we expect. It's not necessarily what fans deserve. I think everybody's owed a sense of privacy, even though it seems like everybody's putting it out there on social media. It's an interesting...
line that you're not sure where it really exists now because, you're right, on our podcast that we do outside of this, our Patreon, which is uncensored, Kavino could tell a very personal story about his relationship, his kid, his daughter, his ex-wife, and people are like, yeah, like... They want more details.
Yeah, it's never enough.
It's never enough. And I feel like this happens a lot when we do interviews, right? Especially with less athletes, more, I guess you would say, actors, musicians. If there's a story where it's like, oh, the person you're about to interview, they're dating so-and-so. A lot of times a PR person will be like, yeah, they just don't ask about...
