Lemon Live at 5. We're on the air, everyone. Hello, hello. Welcome. Let me know where you're streaming from. Gas is 438 in my town. It says Val X198. Okay, well, there you go. So I wish I could come to you. I feel like every day I am bringing you guys like some version of bad news. And it's because probably I am. And I hate to be like, oh, it's so bad, it's whatever. But I got to tell you the truth. And I got to tell you, these people don't care about you. By the way, hit the like and the thumbs up. It affects the algorithm. The more people become aware of our conversation on our channel. So if you haven't done it, just do it right now. West Michigan, $4.99. Vegas is in the house. Good evening, Lemon Nation. Chicago, it's $5.00.
Don Lemon 1:07
499 in West Michigan. Wow. Philadelphia is in the house. Omaha, Nebraska. Hello. And Maryland is here. Maryland is here too. I don't know what to tell you guys.

What immediate news prompted tonight's special on the Supreme Court voting rights decision?

Don Lemon 1:15
Seriously. Every day I'm like, what do I talk about that can make people feel better? What can I talk about Philly that can make people feel better? What can we do for, I try to do everything that I can for the state of the country every day, and it's just tough. It's tough when, you know, I went out to do some Man on the Street today, and I'm surprised, honestly, Baton Rouge, T-Ga, T, T-G, T-G-T, or T-G-G-T, I can't, I'm sorry, I can't get it. Excuse me. I go out and I talk to people, And they say the same thing. When I asked, I'm surprised at how informed they are. I asked about voting rights and they were extremely aware of it. They said, we understand what's happening. We know what's going on. And it's really sad.
Don Lemon 2:10
And one person said, and you'll see it on the social media tomorrow. We'll put it on the show. He said, how much more can you disenfranchise the people who have been so disenfranchised? And I said to her, that is absolutely brilliant, because it is. And these people care nothing about you. They don't care about the MAGA folks either, because if they cared about it in Annapolis, Maryland, what they would be doing is making sure that people have affordable health care. Republicans have not done that since ever. They'd be making sure that you had a minimum wage that could afford, that can allow you to be able to take care of your family and yourself. I was watching something the other night about what it was like in the 50s and 60s.
Don Lemon 3:02
Now, I would not want to go back to that, but the interesting thing is that mostly the man of the house worked. And people were able to buy a home, to buy a car, to maybe put a little bit away, to pay for their families, everything on one salary. Now, I'm not talking about all the misogyny and the bigotry and the racism and all of that, Jamie Wolfe. There's Jamie again. Thank you, Jamie, because of Jamie's generosity. 20 people get to become members of elimination. Thank you, Jamie. 20 people get to become members of elimination. And welcome to the elimination, the very Terry. So... That's where we are right now, in a place where people don't care about you and they think that they're actually doing something that is good for America.
Don Lemon 3:47
They think that they are doing well here. Here is Mike Johnson.
Mike Johnson 3:53
House Republicans continue to deliver for the American people. You will continue to do that for the remainder of the year. And that is a large reason why we are going to win the midterms so that the grownups can stay in charge here. Take a few questions. Mr. President.
Don Lemon 4:06
So that the grown-up can stay in charge. The Republicans are doing a good job for the American people. And so that's why they are going to win the midterm elections. Now you know why he has this confidence about winning the midterm elections, right? It's because none other than the Supreme Court of the United States has signed off on... disenfranchising African Americans in this country in the voting process, basically dismantling the political power, dismantling, first of all, the Voting Rights Act, but gutting the Voting Rights Act and disenfranchising people who all of these laws that they're using right now
