Good morning, and just like that, New York City. I'm back. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Hot Topics. I mean, literally, I just rolled into my building with my suitcase in hand. The elevator was not working because they're doing repairs. If you hear knocking, there is construction happening below me. And I want to talk about some things this morning. I think they're very serious, but I have a lot of sort of disparate things that should come together. And I'm going to rely a lot on the producers because, as I said, I just got in. So good morning. Let me know where you're streaming from. I spent the entire night on a plane, so I don't really have, I don't know if there's something crazy going on in the world.
Don Lemon 1:03
Maybe I missed something. Hello, cold day in Georgia, says Chanel Brown. Adjust my camera here. So, yeah, that's where I am. But I have some concerns about a couple of things. Number one, I'll put the breaking news up first. And I'll put this up, and then I'm going to talk about an issue that I have and something that I've been discussing lately. I'll tell you why I was in California. Make sure you hit the hearts. Make sure you hit the likes, the thumbs up. It affects the algorithm. It does. It's important for people to get to know us. And it pushes our information and our channel to other places where people who may not have heard of us, and then everybody gets involved. So it just works that way. That's how the algorithm works.
Don Lemon 1:47
I know you get tired of me asking you and people, if you probably watch other people here streaming on YouTube, that's how it works. You have to hit those thumbs up and the likes and all that. Hello, East Orange, New Jersey. Hello to Harlem, Harlem, M-I-C, baby, Shawna. That's my old town right there at, Frederick Douglass in one mission crossing the police station. I miss it up there. How is Harlem? Let me know. Hello, Maryland. Hello, Pittsburgh. I'm sure. Can you guys hear the knocking this morning? I'm sure you can. But I am happy to be back. But I do have to discuss a couple of things that are very serious. So everybody gather around. Let's talk about this. Hello, Las Vegas. I'm glad that you're here. Chester, Pennsylvania.
Don Lemon 2:28
Hello, Wisconsin. Hello, Mexico. Wow. Cheers from Mexico. Wow, El Paso, Texas, Isabel. Central Illinois, Redbird. So here's the thing. Donald Trump is really putting the screws to Vladimir Zelensky. I don't know why, except I told you, I think he has a grudge. He doesn't like him because he doesn't bend the knee. He doesn't bow. He doesn't acquiesce. Remember that phone call? It was the first time that Donald Trump was impeached was because of a phone call with Vladimir Zelensky, where Vladimir Zelensky said, I'm not doing that shit. He wanted dirt on Joe Biden. And Vladimir Zelensky said, I'm not going to do it. It's unethical. Why would I give dirt on someone? And why are you seeking dirt on a political opponent?
Don Lemon 3:18
So Vladimir Zelensky is a stand-up guy. Donald Trump is a monster. He's a mob boss. Venice, Italy, holy schmoly. DJT is a Russian asset, says someone in the chat. I don't know about that. Perhaps, I'm just wondering, because the breaking news that I have this morning is that Donald Trump has put up, he's going to revoke temporary legal status for 240,000 Ukrainians as the U.S. steps up deportations. Let's read through some of this. This is the breaking news. 240,000. President Donald Trump's administration planning to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the conflict with Russia, a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter said, potentially putting them on a fast track to deportation.
Don Lemon 4:13
Now, my question when I heard this was, why does he care so much? Why is he treating Ukrainians like this? They were fleeing an occupation By a hostile takeover, through hostile takeover, from a hostile foreign, not a foreign, hostile neighboring nation. Make no mistake about it. I mean, I think Republican politicians may not understand or maybe they can't say for sure because they don't want to mess with the dear leader or go against him.
