But last night in Nebraska, in Lincoln, Nebraska, this representative, Mike Flood, got an earful. This is a little bit of what he heard last night and the headwinds that he's facing. And then I'll tell you about our other big story. Watch this. So my question is, did you read the bill? I read the bill. I read the bills. Is every bill perfect? No, but I supported this bill. By the way, I think this is important. I cannot stress it enough because I think there's a lot of information out there that's wrong. We protected Medicaid. We cut $2 trillion out of the future debt.
We work to get results. And this bill builds for growth.
OK, so there we go. Doesn't understand what the people he thinks that he's doing a great job. He thinks that he thinks that he is saving democracy and that Republicans are on the right side of history. But he is wrong. So wait till you hear about that. And then there's this. Democrats have left the state of Texas and Republicans are responding by formally issuing warrants for their arrest. So we have a representative. who left the state, is in New York in an undisclosed location. You heard from her yesterday, and she has been speaking truth to power in the way that the American people want. This is what she said yesterday. She is here live. Stand by. Here it is.
I'm a lawyer. A part of my practice is criminal defense work. There is no felony in the Texas Penal Code for what he says. So respectfully, he's making up some shit, okay? He's trying to get sound bites, and he has no legal mechanism. And if he did, subpoenas from Texas don't work in New York, so he gonna come get us how? Subpoenas in Texas don't work in Chicago, he's gonna come get us how? So let me be clear. He's putting up smoke and mirrors. And I'm hopeful that the media doesn't follow that. I will also say this.

When I heard that sound bite yesterday, I said you need to run for president of the United States. That is the energy the American people want. Do you understand that?
I have learned that if I did not understand it. Yeah, go on. I mean, you know, it has just been it was interesting because I wasn't supposed to really speak. You know, we had this plan and and I just thought that they have targeted black and brown people and actually LGBT people in Texas. And I happen to be the first black openly LGBT person in the Texas legislature. And we're invisible all the time. And when they were just talking generally, I think that people want to know specifically how what we're doing in Texas is hurting us.
