Good morning, or what does Medea say? Good morning. How are you guys? If you want to say I'm a little bit on CP time, because I am. I'm so glad that you're here. We had a very late night last night, all of us here at the Don Lemon Show, and we didn't get off air until, my goodness, well after midnight. I think it was like about almost 1230 a.m., And so I'm so glad that you're here. I hope you have your coffee. Oh my gosh, by the way, there is a worker right behind me. You see it in my studio. They're still working on this building. How weird. So I'll tell you something. I came down this morning to get my coffee and was surprised by the worker. I was like, hey man, you know, this is me. And I woke up like this and I closed the blinds.
That's all I'll say. I'm sure he's seen worse. uh okay good morning do you guys watch the debate how are you doing by the way do you have your coffee i hope you do i've got my um my windy mug by the way it was on by the way uh you should be watching the sherry shepherd show right now not right now excuse me i mean today not right now you should be watching today when sherry shepherd comes on because i will be on the sherry shepherd show so thank you so much uh for joining us so let's talk about the debate a lot of people are um are happy about it. A lot of people are upset when you're watching it in the moment. Sometimes when you're watching it in the moment, you get, I don't know if it's skewed or real or what, because I remember when I was watching the presidential debate
with the vice president Kamala Harris. When I was watching it, I was like, you know, Donald Trump is really doing okay. And I'm not sure if, you know, how this is going to come up with the American people, if it's going to go over well, if people are going to say, oh my gosh, he seems stronger. She's not, you know, being as whatever. And then the next day, wow, wow, wow. How people were like, you know what? This was not good. This was not great for the former president of the United States. So sometimes it ages differently, right? And after you get a little bit of perspective, and that's why I say there's always nuance. So you should never judge something immediately, right? Never judge a book by its cover.
Never judge something immediately. Guilty, innocent until proven guilty, and on and on and on. You know, J.D. Van Slade, this was a total knockout. TKO, all of those things. And then when you get the actual facts, from people who are watching, right? From the American people. That's why I said last night, if you believe, if you just sort of watch it, it appears as if J.D. Vance was slicker, smoother, sharper, and polished, right? And I said, so on that level, he may have won and done a good thing. But for the American people, I think they're going to think that Tim Walz came off as relatable and not as slick, not as practiced, and just like sort of, hey, the affable American guy. So that's what I thought.
And you know what? I think it's kind of right, because if you actually look, people are saying, hey, it's a toss-up. You know, it's a toss-up. Now, let me see if this is ready because I want to just run a little bit of analysis here if we have the sound bite that can show the analysis. And it's from our friends over at The Morning Joe. And so we have it. Let's take a look and see what they said. And then we'll go through the soundbites and we'll talk about it. We're just going to go slow and methodically go through these things.
OK, negative at the end of the day. But it's not going to be negative because, first of all, vice presidential debates don't matter. But secondly, let's show the poll again. And I want to go back to Donnie for a second. Donnie, you know, it's almost like Dean Smith was coaching him. The legendary North Carolina basketball coach said, you know, we're going to go into the four corners here, boys.
Did Tim Walz or J.D. Vance win the vice presidential debate?
We're going to just pass the ball around. You're going to have a chance to, like, you know, dunk the ball and shatter the backboard. No, just do a layup, go down, and set up on defense.
