Chapter 1: What sparked the ICE protests in Minneapolis?
Welcome to the program, everyone. Support comes from ZBiotics. And let's be honest, after a night with drinks, I don't bounce back the way that I used to. I've learned that I usually have to choose a great night or a great next day. That was the deal. That was until I found ZBiotics pre-alcohol.
ZBiotics is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic created by PhD scientists to help you feel better the morning after drinking. This is how it works. When you drink, alcohol turns into a toxic byproduct right in your gut. It is that buildup. It is not dehydration. That is what causes those rough mornings. Z-Biotics produces an enzyme that breaks it down.
So I take pre-alcohol before my first drink, usually a cocktail with friends. I drink responsibly. And then the next morning, I actually feel clear, focused, and human again. So make it your first drink of the night. Drink responsibly and feel your best tomorrow. So go to zbiotics.com slash lemon. Use the code lemon for 15% off of your first order.

I don't know. No, you can do it later because you have to open up another tab. So go to donlemon.com. Pardon me, as soon as you open the page, it's gonna pop up, this is gonna pop up, and you hit the first one, outstanding podcast, society and culture, and then boom. And then you hit under my name. Right. So if you hit submit there, what is it going to do?
It's probably going to ask you for email or something.

I don't know. Yeah, it wants my email. Yeah, and that's it. It'll take your email address or whatever. And that's it. Done. Okay? You can vote more than one time. It resets every 24 hours. Okay. So, thank you. Thanks, everybody, for joining us. To the news. And when I said we had the Lemon Heads here, Lemon Nation, we also have... Drumroll. I wish I had a drumroll. Andy, I know you do.
I should have warned you. Drumroll. The Lemon Legends are here today. We usually do it on a Thursday, but you know, it was a hell of a week.
Chapter 6: How are weather conditions affecting the protests?
I had some stuff going on, and now the Legends are here on a Friday, on a Friday. They're going to let me know if they're in the path of this crazy weather that is happening. We're in the snowstorm is about to happen. Who is that? lost her camera there. Wendy's camera's going haywire all over the place. All right, so legends, I'll see you in a little bit.
We'll get to the news and we'll get you to comment on it. Okay, so Minnesota is on, I don't mean like really on fire, but on fire. It's because it's freezing. But the protests there have really erupted. They're exploding. There were, we were told, look at, these are the reports. Enough is enough.
Hundreds of Minnesota businesses take stand against ICE after protesters called for a pause on economic activity and work to strike against the federal immigration crackdown. Many business owners kept their doors shut on Friday. OK, you had that. And then you had huge protests. We are told that there were 100 clergy members arrested in Minneapolis airport amid protests over ICE immigration surge.
We have that.
Chapter 7: What can citizens do to support the movement against ICE?
We're told that there were thousands and thousands, maybe tens of thousands of thousands gathered in downtown Minneapolis and ice out day. So they think that they're corralling these protesters. And as I have been saying, by pushing them, they are emboldening them. Instead of trying to deescalate, they are escalating. And this was a scene in Minneapolis or in Minnesota all day.
And do we have any sound here, Andy? You can just put it a little bit on. And so all day in Minneapolis and just feed after feed after feed that we have been looking at showing all the protesters out there. And by the way, it is, look, look at that crowd. And to see that, when it is like nine below zero, that's really something.
Now, I don't know if you guys remember when I told you that this was just the beginning and that these protests would grow because as the polling shows The folks are not happy with people being, their due process rights being taken away. It's nine, it's minus nine degrees. Downtown Minneapolis is packed for the anti-ice rally and the crowd keeps growing. This is Minneapolis and it's crazy.
Now, can I show you why these folks are so upset and they're protesting? Okay, I'm gonna show you why. Here's some, this is, we showed you the massive crowds. Okay, so this is, let's see.
Chapter 8: How does the episode conclude regarding future actions?
ICE agents, they are calling a domestic, a woman in the crowd, a protester, a domestic terrorist. Watch.
It's not illegal to record. Exactly. Yeah. That's what we're doing. Yeah. Why are you taking my information down? Because we have a nice little database. Oh, good. And now you're considered a domestic terrorist. We're videotaping you? Are you crazy?
Yeah. And you know what? He gave the plot away. Because there is a report from Ken Klippenstein. Let's put it up. ICE is making a list of everyone who is filming them. So if you are a citizen and you're filming them, they're making a list. You guys remember, if you know the novel 1984, George Orwell, if you know that, then you realize this is what's happening right now.
If you are in your car, if you are on a street, if you are in a public space, on the sidewalk, on a public road or whatever, you are free to use your phone or whatever and videotape. And so this is Ken Klippenstein, the journalist, ICE is creating a watch list of anyone and everyone who films them, DHS sources tell me. That's the Department of Homeland Security. And then here's the report.
Do we have the report? Can I read it or is it just that? Let me make my page bigger here so I can read it. Okay, the Department of Homeland Security has ordered immigration officers to gather, identify information, identifying information about anyone filming them, and to send that information to Intel, who will do a workup on them, a federal law enforcement official directly involved tells me.
This is some scary shit, guys. Is this constitutional? We should check this. meaning trying to identify them via social media, running their license plates if available and running a criminal history check, the official explained. The directive is part of a sweeping nationwide effort by US immigration authorities to identify anyone and everyone trying to film their conduct.
This includes not just ICE, but other Department of Homeland Security agencies like Border Patrol as well. The ultimate goal is to create a list of anti-ICE protesters, which the Trump administration believes are part of an organized network of domestic terrorists. Domestic terrorists. What? Wait, are they saying that these protesters are... January 6th insurrectionists?
They said that they were domestic terrorists. Is that what they – so I thought that that was the ICE groups that they were saying that there were January 6ers in there, the folks who committed terror on the American people and the House of Representatives, the Capitol, on January 6th of 2021.
A loose-lipped ICE agent in Portland, Maine, publicly hinted at the effort in an exchange on Friday that was captured on video. That's the one that we showed you. The video shows the ICE agent taking pictures of a car belonging to a woman who had been recording him, prompting her to ask why. The ICE agent replies, because we have a nice little database and you're considered a domestic terrorist.
