You're sort of down in the dumps, and I'm telling you it's going to be okay. A lot of work to do for folks who are supporting the Vice President Kamala Harris. Okay. A lot of work to do, but that does not mean it is impossible. I think that the work can be done. and you can get it back on track. But to be honest with you, I'm always going to be honest with you, it's going to be four years of chaos, four years of calling people names, four years of demonizing immigrants and
and minorities and members of the underserved community. But we did a bit of it this morning on our Hot Topic show at 10 a.m., and I'm going to do some of it now. I'm going to have a real post-mortem, and I have a perfect person to discuss it with. But stand by before I introduce that person. We're going to talk about a post-mortem meeting, post-mortem meaning what went wrong, what happened, what could have been improved. I don't know. Is there a blame to go around? I'm going to give you a caveat here. Under the circumstances, I believe that Kamala Harris ran herself personally a really good campaign. I'm not so sure. And again, I'm not just talking shit about people to talk shit about them. And you can take my advice if you want with a grain of salt or whatever it is, however it is that you choose to do it.
But I do not believe that she was served well by some members of her team and her campaign. And I will tell you why as we go through the aftermath here. The finger pointing has begun in the aftermath of a devastating loss for the Vice President Kamala Harris. Democrats all across this country have started to discuss how and why things went so wrong. Democrats are starting to speak out about some of the issues that people have been complaining about for a long time that they didn't take seriously, that they did not know would penetrate, right? Pronouns and such. The belief that they're over-indexing on, quite frankly, as a member of the LGBTQ community, but over-indexing on issues that have to do with trans people, okay?
Don't shoot the messenger. I'm just telling you this, all right? Who's to blame? Folks have no shortage of answers from President Biden. They're saying he stayed too long. To campaign officials like Jen O'Malley Dillon and Mike Donlan, who are part of the old Biden team. Maybe she should have gotten a new team. That's what folks are saying. To figures in the media. All right. Today, I want to discuss what could have been done differently and what Democrats now have to do going forward now that we are here. So joining me now, Ravi Gupta, the host of Majority 54 and Lost Debate podcasts. He also held a host of roles with Barack Obama's first campaign and first term, including assistant to David Axelrod. Ravi, welcome.
How are you doing? What'd you think of my introduction? What's going on in your world? I think it was spot on. And yeah, my world is like probably your world, getting a lot of calls from people from all over the spectrum. I went through my list today. I've been critical of a lot of things that have happened, but really out of love, trying to be as good as we possibly could be. And I woke up today and I made myself a call list of people who worked on the campaign. And I called one person at a time and just thanked them for their hard work and said, look, I know this is going to be a conversation about what we could do differently. But you were out there doing the thing, and I appreciate it, and I don't want to take away from that.
And there were some good conversations out there. People are bummed, but so many of the people I talk to are ready to peel themselves off the floor and get working. Do they have an idea of what went wrong? Well, there are a few.
