So we I think the only note I gave them on the book was that like the cover needs to be horny. Cover needs to be horny, needs to be fun, you know, wanna be a artifact. 'Cause you know, downtown like Dimes Square area, you always see like guys carrying books as like an accessory, like sitting outside the bar on page two. You know, like LeBron. Performative reading. Yeah. Yeah. LeBron readers like always on page two. Yeah. I was just like sex item. Yeah, even for Yeah, even for those guys, you just need a book like this. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's nice. Sitting outside of Clandest uh Clandestino like Friday night with a book. So um Rodrigo Corral d designed it and then uh I think they got one of the illustrators that works with Louaive on it.
It's a beautiful book, yeah.
It is a thingy pity. Um what is it about though? 'Cause obviously your first book, which we absolutely love, was more about your life. This is a novel, but sort of partially biographical in some ways or
Auto I would say it's uh like modern auto fiction. Okay. And like uh, you know, some of my writer friends have helped me with with characterizing this. But yeah, it's just like avant garde auto fiction where like there is a memoir you can piece together in there if you know me and we're friends or you listen to the pod. Like I'm kind of playing on the parasocial relationship that people have with everyone. these days, like through the internet and using little bits and fictionalizing them into a novel.
Come on. How did it come up come about? Does someone come to you and say, Eddie, we want another book and you go, Well, I've run out of my own life, let's go fiction? Or are you writing anyway? Like how what's going on there? No, you know, I actually
Had a book deal after my second memoir. I like I was sick of writing nonfiction. I wanted to write fiction. Yeah. And the publisher, very cool guy, like one of my best friends, was like, Look, I'm gonna give you a novel deal if you write another nonfiction book. So it was a two-book deal. Yeah, I couldn't service it for ten years. I had nothing to say. Well, really, just sat on it. Yeah, I had nothing to say. I wasn't really growing, I was kind of like stuck. in my life. Um I was in a bit of a sad boy era and this is when I like quit doing Wong's World.
