Chapter 1: What skincare products do the hosts recommend?
Hello and welcome to Soul Sisters with me Clare Solon and me Georgie Crawford. This is the podcast that guarantees plenty of aha moments and healthy nourished skin with thanks to our friends at Sanex. We've been loving the Sanex Skin Therapy Shower Gel lately. It comes in three different options depending on what your skin needs.
We have anti-itchiness and anti-irritation designed of course for itchy skin. It contains omega-3 and reduces irritation in just three days of use. We have anti-dryness, designed for dry skin which contains hyaluronic acid, known for its moisturising power. And we also have smooth skin texture, suitable for combination to oily skin containing niacinamide, known to help reduce imperfections.
So whichever skin therapy shower gel you choose, you are in great hands as it's developed with dermatologists. It's a shower gel. Can you believe that? That's developed with dermatologists. So you know you're getting the best of the best. It's patented amino acid complex preserves your skin's barrier, which we're all about this year. It helps support your skin's natural defense and protection.
It delivers a 24-hour hydration feel. Giving us the good glow. Hello and welcome to Soul Sisters. We were just chatting there before we logged on about the amount of feedback we have been getting for this season between the main on a Tuesday, the bonus episodes. Thank you so, so much for
I don't know about you, Clare, but some of the feedback that I've been getting is that this is the best season of Soul Sisters ever. And that means a lot to us because Soul Sisters is so close to our hearts and such a big part of... Like, it brings me pure joy.
It is.
It's such a reset, I think. And because we do it twice a year for 10 weeks, it's a really good barometer of where you are in life. And I think it gives our Soul Sisters an opportunity to look at themselves that way too. I'm getting a lot of feedback...
saying the same thing and it's great we're 10 seasons in so it feels good thank you Soul Sisters yeah thanks so much we've loads to catch up on this week and I also have a few Tips on how to age well from Martha Stewart that I want to share with you later on in the episode, Clare, because obviously Martha Stewart, before Gwyneth Paltrow came along, she was our queen. She is the OG.
And if she's writing a list, I'm reading it.

Chapter 2: How does batch cooking improve meal prep?
And then he went out the front and there's another tree just outside the front and he went, oh my God, look, out the front here as well. And now, as I mentioned earlier on in the season, Vivian, no matter what time of day or night, she's asleep now because she's up all night. But by about five or six o'clock, she'll be like, come on, come on, step away from your laptop.
And we walk out there and she sits down in the long grass and I lie down in the long grass like a 10 year old. And I just lie under that tree and look up and think about all the angels up in the tree.
Oh my God, that's beautiful because Julie is actually away at the moment. So she had this, and normally we go away together around this time of year. And she, so they went anyway. And I know where she is that there's loads of trees. So she should go and just sit under a tree and like connect with her dad, shouldn't she? Yeah.
Yes, for sure. And also to be around trees, like Claire McKenna's book, Would You Be Well? Trees are sentient beings. Trees communicate with each other. Like in a forest, if one tree is poorly, the other trees rally around to send the nutrients to that tree. I now have shivers. So being in somewhere like that, like a forest or what do they call them?
What do they call a group of trees? Coven is witches. What?
A group of trees. A cluster of cops. Yeah, if you're over in the park, just go over and stand in the trees and call in your angels there. And the nice thing about that is you're out in nature. You kick your shoes off. You know, make that your little ritual. It's easier to do when you're out somewhere rather than trying to do it at home.
Oh, I love that. Oh, my God. It's so mad that you're talking about this because I wanted to bring this into the podcast. So I went to my friend's wedding, two friends last week who were getting married to each other, Tilo and Geraldine. And they are the gorgeous couple who got engaged at the top of the Alps. when we went to run in Arosa and we were all there and it's just such a special moment.
And they invited us to their wedding. We had the best crew. You know, when you're like, I was like levitating. I was so excited. Like I just couldn't believe that we were going to this event. And we went to the church in their local town in Leish. It's called Castletown.
And we went into the church and we were sitting there and GrƔinne Gavigan, who sang at the National Concert Hall on stage at the Good Glow Show with us last December, was singing in the church. And her brother, Brendan Gavigan, was playing for her. And it was just magical. But behind the altar, Clare, were huge windows. I've never seen this in a church before. No.

Chapter 3: What is the recipe for cowgirl caviar salad?
Wow. Churches, like you'd never see a window behind the altar. And it was just added like something so special to the ceremony. And after they signed the register, they just stood, all of their family and their bridal party just stood on the altar for like five minutes. Just, you know, that expression, be here now. There wasn't like sign the register, get out of the church, do this, do that.
They were just... existing in the moment. I was like so blown away by it. I was just like, this is...
magic we are all here in this moment together um and then we went to meet the best day ever the um we went back to the heritage have you ever been to the heritage hotel and leash no but we have to go we have to go and the food was gorgeous the staff were amazing the we had a room like overlooking the golf course and i was there and there was um 16 of us, you know, spread across two tables.
And the next day, of course, I was crying going home. Like, why do I have to cry saying goodbye to people? I don't know why, I just always do. And I was like, oh my God. And then I was like, why do I cry when I leave this group, you know? And I think it's because this is a group of friends that make me a better person. You know, they make me...
kinder they make me um more open I lean into a version of myself that feels so much joy um so like all of these people who come together and bring out the best qualities in the other person you know Like, where would you get that?
Oh, it's so rare. And to be able to see it and know it and acknowledge it.
I was just going to say, what was the dance floor like?
It was so funny because you remember I said last week on the podcast, like, oh, Jesus, like I'd be a bit scarlet now on the dance floor.
so I was up on the dance floor like fairly obviously immediately as soon as the music started all of us were and Catherine who is you know an OG team called Glow she is Geraldine's sister and she was made of honour and she just like danced over to me and she was like are you turning inside out there Georgie and I was like Soul sister in the wild.

Chapter 4: How do the hosts feel about aging and self-acceptance?
Claire, what was yours this week?
So this was a lovely little sequence of events that happened. And this... blew me away. It was such a lovely reminder of the importance of sharing compliments and giving love to strangers. So maybe it was last Friday evening. I sometimes spend Friday afternoon in the BBC preparing for Saturday's show with Emma and I think I was coming home. So quiet times on the tubes, right?
So the very few people on the tube on a Friday evening traveling out, traveling south. So I was sitting, maybe looking at, reading my book or something. And I looked up, as I was getting off, I saw a girl with curly hair, red curly hair. And mine was all tied back and business, business. And hers was out and amazing.
And
And I, as I was getting off the tube, I said, amazing hair. And she didn't hear me. And she kind of looked at me because I leaned into her and she took her headphone out. And as I was jumping off the train, I said, amazing hair. And she was like, oh, thanks. Thanks. I walked away and I thought, oh, God, it's been so long since I've given a stranger a compliment.
So next morning, I'm getting ready for work and I headed up to the post office and I'm standing in the post office in the line, turned around and the lady goes, lovely hair and amazing trousers. And I was like, oh, thank you. And she's like, where are you going? And I said, oh, I'm going to work. And I said, where are you going?
And she was like, I'm sorry, I'm hiking up the South Downs today because it was a beautiful Saturday. And I went, oh, well, enjoy yourself like that. You know, wow. What a great Saturday you have ahead. So I'm heading off to the train and I'm thinking to myself, wow, a compliment for a compliment. Look how quickly that was returned to me.
I was on my way into the BBC and I stopped off in Pret to get myself a coffee, an iced coffee, because it was a million degrees. And I said to the guy behind the counter, hey, could I have this wrap and a nice coffee, please? And he said, yeah, sure. How are you? And I said, I'm really, really good. How are you? And he said, yeah, I'm great. And then I went to go and tap and I saw 4.99.
$1.99, that can't be right. And I looked down and I looked up and he handed me the iced coffee and gave me a smile and went, enjoy. And I said, thank you. Tapped and went. He'd only charged me for the wrap. Now this all happened within 24 hours. And when I was in the shower, I was thinking, that's as simple as it needs to be.

Chapter 5: What insights do the hosts share about friendship and support?
Love that idea. Yeah. So if we were to get a, if we were to choose a prompt from today's episode, it's got to be something. Are you playing hide and seek with me?
Sorry, I'm just, I'm trying to see over my phone to my other tab. I'm sorry. Yeah. Okay. So we were to pick a journal prompt for anything we spoke about today. Yeah. Okay.
So, you know, maybe it is sitting with what you're feeling. So first of all, tapping into when is it I feel most anxious or insecure? Make a list of those moments when you don't feel like yourself, when your skin crawls. So when do I feel out of my body? uncomfortable. And then follow that with, when do I feel safest?
When do I feel most in my body? Okay, that's brilliant. Thank you so much for that suggestion.
One more for you. And this is from Kathy Lewis Paintings on Instagram. Kathy paints the most beautiful pictures, florals. So take a look at her Instagram if you get an opportunity. But she was listening into one of the episodes and I was talking about the calendar that I got in Rome when we were in Rome running with the good glow.
Yeah.
Sexy priests, right? This is, this is May. Oh my God, look at him. Look at this guy. September, he's in your favourites. He, I mean, I was looking forward to seeing him, but now, thanks to Kathy, I realise I have to get rid of this calendar. Why? Gone. Because she said, Claire, you're bringing the energy of unavailable men into your home. Feng Shui.
You can't have a calendar for 2026 full of unavailable men, full of men of the cloth.
Go and throw it out the window.

Chapter 6: What lessons can we learn from Martha Stewart's approach to aging?
LAUGHTER
Okay, so into recommends. I wanted to recommend, actually, I haven't listened to it yet, but Call Her Daddy. Oh, hold on.
I think you're, are you disconnected? Oh, Jesus.
Call Her Daddy is, I love this podcast. And she has interviewed Gayle King.
I've listened.
Have you?
It's one of my recommends.
Wow. So Gayle King is an absolute queen of broadcasting in the US. She also happens to be Oprah's best friend. And the reason why I was recommending this is because I was really pulled in to the trailer. And actually, I haven't listened to many podcasts this week because I'm saving all my favorite podcasts for the rebirth of my running career, which is starting at 5pm this evening.
But in it, she said something that really sparked my interest. Alex Cooper asked her about her friendship with Oprah and she says, I've never stood in Oprah's shadow because she allows me to stand in her light. Preach. Is that not so powerful?

Chapter 7: How do the hosts connect with their spirituality?
So heads up for that. I know tickets sell really quickly. So make sure if you're in Dublin to get to the Casual Choir with Roisin Savage. What a night. I loved it. The other thing I wanted to mention was, have you seen Anam Cara Wellness? No, I don't think so. On Instagram, Sophie Anderton. Remember Sophie Anderton? Yeah, she lives in like Wicklow.
Yeah, she lives in Glendalough and Anam Cara Wellness is her new wellness retreat. It is the most incredible place and I'm looking at maybe doing a retreat there in September, Soul Sisters, so if you're interested in that, a day retreat. But take a look because you can go down and have... the most beautiful day. Like there's lakes on the property. She has saunas.
She has all of the usual spa stuff. And there's aerial yoga. There's all sorts. And for, you know, beyond the pale, Yeah, that festival that's going on. If you're going down to Beyond the Pale, and this is very us, I thought, you can leave Beyond the Pale and head into Anamkara and relax and chill and maybe spend some time in the sauna or in the pool.
And you can come back out and then go back to the festival all rejuvenated for that evening. So I discovered her on social media this week and I just wanted to point people toward her because she is an honorary Irish woman. And she said she, her husband has been living in Wicklow for years. And she said the locals love her more than they love him. That's how invested she is.
Love it. And actually, do you know who she's really good friends with? Julian from the cheese bar. Stop. Yeah. And my mum, I just happened to ring my mum during the week and I said, hey, where are you? And it was quite loud. She's like, I'm in the cheese bar. And I was like... So it's called Ickar and it's in where the Silver Tassie used to be.
Basically, it's called Wheelhan's Wine Bar, but there's a cheese bar in there and it's Julian's. And she was like, there's a man beside me speaking French on the phone. Is that him? And I said, it sure is. I was like, does he look like George Clooney? She's like, let me tell you this. It looks like he's just dropped down from heaven. Yeah. And I was like, get up there and introduce yourself.
She's like, oh, I don't know if I have the nerve. But yeah. So Julian, of course, who looks like he's never worked a day in his life. He's like, looks like the healthiest, most glowing, gorgeous person. Is friends with Sophie Anderton. Anderton?
Anderton, yeah.
Sophie Anderton.
