Yeah, I just – look, I feel like we're kicking off the Australian cricket season today. Here goes. Squad's been announced. Well, that's why I say it. Like normally it's the olfactory senses, you know, the nose, the waft that denotes the commencement of cricket season. It's the jasmine in spring or the, you know, the dried sweat-laden cricket gear inside a hothouse of nylon. which houses your cricket kit. The combination of those two wafts suggest cricket season is upon us. But yesterday, my beautiful wife, Tori, brought me a rare species of jasmine that grows in the late winter. And today, Bales announced the squad for Bangladesh. And I'm thinking, fuck yeah, Australian cricket is on. And wasn't it a squad, he goes, that put all of the chips into safety?
Yeah. There's the cartel. There's Gaz. There's Smudge. Hairdy. There's Kez. Manas. There's your cordon with Slug and Greeny. There's several players who will go down as all-time greats, but in 12 months' time from now, we'll know if this team goes down as an all-time great together. And because of the foresight to utilise our northern climes, we can declare the Australian cricket season commenced. Now, that's right. It doesn't begin with August hands anymore, you know, trying to catch during pre-season on dewy suburban outposts, dewy suburban outposts in Australia's south.
