Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human.
Hey guys, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but you know.
Tired and sick. Tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy. Not quite. On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guests, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an acapella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to Humor Me with Robert Smigel and friends on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam? It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, The Playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season, and I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments.
If we didn't talk ever again, I was crying. You just understood. That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis coming to me, he's like, you know I love you, dog. You know it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball. So listen to Point Game on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Chapter 2: What pressure does Victor Wembanyama face in this pivotal game?
That's great for him. Shea has the responsibility of doing that every single night against the best defenders. Defenders. Because sometimes they're throwing doubles at him. They're loading up on him. And, man, look, J-Mac, at this time of year, it's winning advance. Michael Jordan shot 41% against Seattle. He shot 43% against Utah in his last finals.
Chapter 3: How does the media's portrayal of players impact their legacy?
Who cares? SGA would kill for that. He was the finals MVP. I mean, SGA is the MVP, no question about it. Honestly, I don't know if the cowardly media would vote for Caruso, but hell, I think Jared McCain has been more of a spark plug for this OKC team. First of all, Jared McCain is shooting 36% himself. Right, but this is a guy who averaged 3,000.
You can't kill SGA, who's out there playing more minutes, out there having the defense loaded up on him. And he's shooting, I think, a better percentage than Jared McCain. McCain is really good. I like him. I mean, Daryl Moore, I don't know what he was thinking. I guess he was forced to by the owner. But Jared McCain has been big for them. All right. So I don't want to shoot him down.
But again, it's all in perspective, J-Mac.
Chapter 4: How has Wemby's performance impacted his team's playoff chances?
Like nobody expects if McCain goes out tonight and has seven points on 26 percent shooting. Guess what? Nobody's going to say anything. SGA is where all the pressure of leading this team. And so he's not living up to his regular season standards. Caruso is exceeding his McCain's exceeding his SGA. He's not playing good. Castle has him locked up. He can't do anything.
If he's not playing good, they wouldn't be up 3-2. Do they win that game without his 32 points? The role players have been great. Do they win that series without his 32 points? Well, no. Somebody else would come in and score 20.
AJ Mitchell or whatever. Oh, really?
Somebody else would? AJ's hurt. So he's doing it without the two other playmakers, the two other ball handlers on the team. Come on, man. Don't be fooled by FG percentage. This is a role player. The role players for the Thunder are carrying them. Hartenstein shows up, amazing. They've played well. They're not carrying them. They're doing their job.
That's all they're doing.
They need somebody to give them big points and big numbers, and that's SGA. My favorite is if you look at SGA against the Suns, he was incredible. Against the Lakers, a little less so. And now the numbers, look at anything, true shooting, field goal. The numbers, isn't it 26-10? Yeah, but they're down from 32. I mean, 32 points a game. They're down to 26. Of course, it's the playoffs.
You're facing better teams. They know everything you want to do.
You're supposed to play.
Usually, you play a little worse. Man, win and advance. Win and advance. Let's move on to my Knicks, who I guess once upon a time were your Knicks when you covered the New York Knicks. Yeah. Listen, I had a hot take. I think this is the greatest Knicks team in the history of the franchise. I know they haven't won the title, but Brunson, listen, Patrick Ewing didn't win a title.

Chapter 5: What role do the supporting players have in Wemby's success?
Everybody's getting their touches. A lot of balance, even though you had two stars in Willis Reed and Clyde Frazier. And that's what this team has. They've got Kat, they've got Jalen Brunson, and everybody's getting involved, getting their touches. That's really what took them to the next level. So, and I'm, look, I don't think Jalen Brunson is as good as Patrick Ewing.
But if he leads his team to a championship this year and had gone through Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, SGA the two-time MVP, or Wimby, who we know what he's going to end up being, if he goes through all of those guys to win a championship without that second super-duper star, Cat is a star, without that second, like,
all first team, all NBA type teammate, then I do think you have to say he's the greatest Nick because to give them the first championship in 53 years to average 27 points throughout the playoffs while, while leading them to that championship to be arguably the best clutch player in the league.
I know, like I said, these are legendary names, Ewing, Frazier, Reed, but I think you'd have to put Jalen Brunson atop all of them if he pulls this off. And my guy Ewing did not win a title with the Knicks, and they consider him the best. Chris, I want to give you a shout-out. Congrats on that green tie. I can get the signal. Aliens are green. Wembin Yama is an alien.
You, like I, have the Spurs tonight. Chris, thanks a lot. Good stuff. Cats brew on First Things First right after this. Chris, we'll talk to you soon, buddy. All right, man. Later. Good stuff. Chris Bouchard. Gosh, it's fun just rapping with him, knocking him down. Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays at noon Eastern, 9 a.m.
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the iHeartRadio app. This is Rob Parker, and I'm here with an important public service announcement. Whatever you do, do not listen to the Paulie and Tony Fusco show. Fox Sports Radio asked me to do a promo, but I'm here to do a no-mo. As in, don't listen to this show no more.
The host are two fools from Philly who have the dumbest takes ever in all of sports talk. And you know, if I'm saying that, they must really be bad. I have no idea why Fox Sports Radio picked this up, but I know where to put it down. In the trash can. So please, don't listen to the Paulie and Tony Fusco show. No way, no how.
Number one hits, millions of records sold, awards, sold out tours. You think the Jonas Brothers are satisfied? Nope. It's podcast time.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.

Chapter 6: What are the historical comparisons made with Wemby and other NBA greats?
Not quite. On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. All of a sudden, I had hanginess happening on my arm. I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of SGA's flopping controversy in Game 6?
There's more ball movement. And that means that everybody is more engaged, not just Cat. Everyone is more engaged when they go play defense. So we've seen it. It's a winning formula. They trampled the East. Is it going to be the key, though, for them really being competitive or even winning the NBA finals because you're playing against different defenses?
That's a great question. Well, let's see who they face. I'm not dead on the Spurs yet. I don't know how the Spurs would match up with Cat. I mean, I don't think you could put Wemby on him because he's actually a good three-point shooter. And it's going to be a tough matchup for the Spurs. I think the one on the Oklahoma City matchup would be interesting.
Chapter 8: How does flopping affect the perception of the NBA?
You could throw a body in Hartenstein at him who's tougher. Chet's longer. That could be a bit of a wrinkle. But to go back to Draymond Green, you're right. That is a rare positive comment. from basically a division one hater in Draymond Green. That's what he knows. And he goes on and blasts everybody on his podcast.
I mean, you gotta give him credit though. He knows Paul. So there you go. I mean, I'm interested, you know, the one thing that he did in his backhanded compliment is he talked about Kat's dumb fouls, quote unquote. I think that certainly either of these teams would have an easier time getting Cat to bite and commit some fouls, maybe, you know, knock him out.
And I also think that these teams have more guys who will go at him because he has been a defensive liability at times for them. Now, as Draymond said, he's been more engaged on defense since this new scheme has come in, but that might not be enough if you're playing, you know, elite guys coming at you.
We'll see. If you asked me, Jason, who leads the Knicks in stocks, steals, and blocks, I would not have guessed Karl-Anthony Downs. Yeah. I would have probably gone OG, but he missed a couple games. Maybe Hart, who's just flying around constantly. Mitchell Robinson doesn't play a ton, but gets a lot of blocks.
It's a great stat for Kat. Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, they traded for him for this reason. Let's see if it holds up in the finals. Okay, I got another basketball one for you, Jason, that I don't think you're going to expect.
Interesting conversation was being had on the Road Trippin' podcast, which is Richard Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, and Channing Frye, and they started to debate who would you rather defend against, Wemby or Steph Curry? Listen to what they had to say.
I'd defend Wimby any day.
Yeah. No offense. Yeah, give me Wimby. Give me Wimby. Really? 100%. I thought you were going to say Steph or Shea. I was like, oh. I couldn't even get on the court when Steph is out there. I was watching that last night. Steph different, man. And that's not to ā Steph is one of the greatest of all time. Everybody's different.
But if you told me which one is harder to game plan currently, now eventually Wimby could be up there with the greatest to ever do it. All right, what's your take, Jay? Well, you know, I largely agree with my former men's rec league teammate, Richard Jefferson. You know, down the road, Wemby, impossible.
