Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. Hey guys, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but you know. Tired and sick. Tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, we help make you funnier. On this episode, my guests Bob Odenkirk and Kids in the Halls Bruce McCullough try and help the Kazoo Kid and Tazon Day be famous again. What if there's an alternate universe show where you guys are incredibly popular?
Well, and they could travel up the land doing meet and greets. They're constantly needed at malls.
Listen to Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.

Chapter 2: What insights does Jonathan Givony share about the NBA Draft?
AJ De Bonza is a phenomenal player. I think he's going to end up being an all-star, but Darren Peterson is a notch above him from a talent perspective. Interesting. I love this job. Jonathan Cavoni, NFL, NBA draft analyst. Sorry. I do want to ask about Caleb Wilson, who is, you know, athletically, it looks like he could be Kevin Garnett. You've seen a lot from him.
He had the injury at the end of the season, but what do you see Wilson doing? Any shot he's cracks the top three? I think there'll be a conversation there. I'm sure that Memphis will look at that. I can't see him surpassing any of the guys in the top three, and it's not a knock against him. This draft is just so loaded in that top three that it really starts at four, really, with Caleb Wilson.
There isn't another alternative there. If he's there at four, there's really no chance that Chicago passes on him, in my view. Like you said, he's an exceptional athlete. He's a very, very good defender. He can rebound. He's a great forward. finisher. He's really hard to stay in front of, creating his own shot from the mid-post. He just made huge strides as the year moved on.
He was not this type of player, honestly, in high school. He had a reputation for tending to coast at times. He got cut from USA Basketball, just because he wasn't playing all that hard. That was not the player that we saw this year in college. He's going to be an outstanding NBA player. I think the Chicago Bulls are going to be very excited to add him at four.
So in that like five to 10 range, there's a glut of point guards. Keaton Wagler, you got Kingston Flemings, Acuff. I like Braden Burries a lot. I'm just curious, how do you see those guys shaking out in terms of talent? Is there one that you love more than the others? Yeah, I mean, I think that all of those guys are going to be usurped on draft night by Nate Ament.
I think Mikel Brown is probably the guy who goes five or six, in my view.

Chapter 3: Who are the top prospects being discussed for the #1 pick?
And then Nate Ament, and then Adai Mara, I think is very much going to be in that conversation, in that six, seven, eight range. I could see those three guys pushing down an Acuff, a Wagler, a Kingston, Flemings, because... The size, the positional size is so important. And that's where a guy like a Darius Acup or a Kingston Fleming really comes up short.
And you saw what Adai Mara did in the Final Four in the National Championship game. 7'4", incredible passer. He was just a really, really skilled player. And then Nate Ament, 6'10", 6'11", can shoot off the dribble, can create his own shot. Very versatile defender. I mean, that's what the NBA game is built around. We're watching the playoff games today.
You know, you don't see a lot of 6'2 guys out there, right? I mean, it's the guys with that positional size who can play multiple positions that are dynamic. They can play on the ball, off the ball. That's really what the NBA covets. And then Mikel Brown is another guy that I think we didn't get the best eval on him this year at Louisville because of the back issue.
You know, my understanding is that he's fully cleared. He's good to go. His measurements are absurd. And just what he can do with the ball in his hands, playing pick and roll, shooting off the dribble. Mikkel Brown, I think, he's the most talented guard prospect in this draft after Darren Peterson. Interesting. Now, I love these one-on-one matchups in the workouts.
I know they don't do them as often. The greatest story, I think I might have heard you saying this, was the Steph Curry versus the kid Tyreek Evans, who ended up going to Memphis. And they played one-on-one, and Evans killed him. And, you know, obviously Memphis jumped at it and it was like, we got to get in the Tyreek Evans business. Some guys aren't built for that one-on-one matchup.
Have you heard about any matchups or workouts where top prospects will be going at one another? Yeah, I think the workout circuit has changed now. I mean, the agents are very risk-averse, and it's a lot of one-on-zero stuff in the top 10. You know, you might get, you know, a one-on-one matchup, like, later in the mid-to-late part of the first round.
But, you know, these top guys that we're talking about, they're going to be dribbling around cones and shooting wide-open jumpers. You're going to have to go back to their game film if you really want to get a feel for how good they are. Yeah. Dai Mara from Michigan. You know, you said 7'4 has grown immensely as a talent since the UCLA days.

Chapter 4: What makes Cam Boozer a standout player in this draft?
I'm just curious, watching Wembyn Yama eat, do you think there are teams in the West who are like, you know what? You can't find anyone remotely large as large as Wembyn Yama, so you got to find someone big. Do you think this helps Mara at all that Wembyn Yama is emerging as like maybe the best player in the league?
mean every the the trend the last few years has been towards size i mean people are trying to play multiple bigs together at the same time and so you need really skilled really long you know centers who can who can pass and can score and can protect the rim adai mara has a nine foot seven standing reach second largest in in nba combine history after taco fall and so
that kind of length and reach is going to be really hard to score over inside the paint. And that combined with the skill level offensively, the passing, the feel for the game, the footwork, the touch, that is going to make him really compelling on draft night. And that's why he's going to be a top 10 pick when it's all said and done.
I do want to ask about Lendeborg, the great talent from Michigan. He's on the older side. We know the history of guys who are like 23 in the lottery, even 22. Is he a candidate to slide a little bit? But maybe that works out best for him because then he goes to a good team. I think he's going to end up in that 8 to 14 range, maybe 10 to 14. I don't see him sliding very far.
You know, I mean, he was the second best player in college basketball this year after Cam Boozer. And, you know, we saw him play every position in Michigan. Small forward, power forward, center. He can handle, he can pass, he can shoot. He made a big jump defensively this year. You know, that frame that we're seeing, the length, the 7'4 wingspan,
I just can't see very many teams wanting to pass on that. Yes, the age is a little bit of a concern, but on the other hand, teams are going to say, I want an older player. I want somebody that's ready to step in from day one.
There's not a lot of projection involved with Yaxel Lendeborg, and so he's going to hear his name called very high on draft night, and I think he's going to be a plug-and-play guy from day one. And last one, Jonathan, any high risers or fallers that you're hearing about? Scuttlebutt, team's love, keep an eye on.
I mean, I'm surprised Nate Alment in like the 6'7 range would shock me, but you're way more plugged in on this than anybody. What are you hearing? Yeah, you know, it's still a little bit early. I mean, really only now are teams in the lottery starting to really get going with their workouts. The guy that's really skyrocketed this whole pre-draft process is Morris Johnson.
You know, starting with what we saw in the NCAA tournament, you know, Michigan winning the championship. But his measurements were elite. He measured six foot nine barefoot, which is a little bit bigger than a lot of people thought he would be. 7'4", wingspan, 251 pounds. Went into the drill portion of the NBA Combine and really shot it well. Blew people away in the interviews.

Chapter 5: How do analytics influence draft decisions for NBA teams?
So I don't know. Dan Gilbert is a risk taker, right? Yeah. Maybe he says, I don't care what you want, Giannis. I want to come here and try to win a chip. But my guess is it's not going to happen. Well, look, you and I are on the same page, by the way. All these experts say he's going to Miami. He's going to Miami. They have the best package.
I don't know if the players you get back, they have the best. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not sold on it. By the way, yeah, what's that package? Tyler Hero? Jaime Jaquez, who I love? Yeah. But, like, what are you doing with those guys? And picks, obviously. But, yeah, we'll see. You and I will see. And, you know, we don't know if this isn't right or wrong. We'll just have to see. Yeah.
What they decide. Let's go back to the Eagles, Jason, because we were talking about them all day yesterday. Jalen Hurts, as we noted, not overflowing with praise about A.J.
Chapter 6: What are the strengths and weaknesses of Darren Peterson?
Brown. But today, he is all rainbows and unicorns about his new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion. Take a listen.
Yeah, it's been a really good process so far. He's come in and he's very clear, giving good direction. You can definitely see the vision. Been able to answer all of my questions. Very instructive, very helpful. So it's been a very enjoyable journey so far. It's exciting to be able to learn the new brand of football, get new perspective, and just grow.
It's exciting. He looks very excited there, but you know. There's all this who's to blame for the late season collapse in Philly, right? You know, is it A.J. Brown being difficult? Is it Super Bowl MVP, as you like to say? Jalen Hurts not being good enough? Is it other stuff with the team?
Look, you can't ignore the fact that they've had back-to-back new signal callers for Hertz the last few seasons. And I don't know, if he likes Mannion, and Mannion's certainly promising, maybe this is enough to turn him around a little bit. Yeah, I think you put me on to this, because you forget sometimes during these searches, but Mike Brown was not the Knicks' first choice. Absolutely not.
I think he was like their third, right? I don't think Sean Mannion was the first choice for the Eagles. This is a guy who's never called plays before. Right? So sometimes you don't land on your first choice and it works out great anyway. Yeah. Well, Jalen, again, looked incredibly excited. But for him, I think that's... What is with these... Well, look. He was like, I'm very excited.
I'm very excited about this. He's locked in. This is Mr. Reefcase. He is locked in in May, Jason. No, he doesn't have to be emotive on the podium up there. I don't care at all about that. I do want him to get the best opportunity to show his best self because I think both of us like him as a player and there's been knocks on him right and left, certainly in the last year. And let's see.
Let's give him the best opportunity and see how he can do. So maybe he'll win another Super Bowl MVP. Not this year, but at some point. Let's go back to your New York Knicks, Jason. On fire right now as they wait for the Western Conference to wrap up. I mean, this has just been days and days of people being excited. And now we see Jan Soto getting into it.
Soto did the Jalen Brunson celebration after he hit a home run. Mikael Bridges says the Knicks are loving all of it. Take a listen.
Yeah, I mean, it's great. You know, it's great to see the fans, you know, excited. I know it's been a long time, but... saving my family, friends, you know, everybody excited, but I know every single one of them, you know, is more worried about winning these four than anything else that happened.

This is Saigon, the story of my family and of the country that shaped us.
The United States will not stand by and allow any power, however great, take over another country. From iHeart Podcast, Saigon. Please allow me to introduce Joseph Sherman. You don't think I'm serious about a free Vietnam? I should stop talking so much. I like hearing you talk. One city, a divided country, and the war that tore America apart. This is for Vietnam.
