Welcome back to the Richard Sherman podcast. This offseason has been incredible a lot of action, but the FIFA World Cup Mitchell USA the most goals since like 1930. They're rolling the energy around Seattle has been incredible. People are so excited. It's great to see the world come together other countries getting to to experience America and the culture from different places. It's different places. I saw the Japanese fans in Houston going crazy. I saw the Bosnians in L.A. walking down the street. What are you thinking about all this? Richard, it's a cool sight. Man, I was one of those guys. I flew into Seattle to meet up with you last week, and I had no freaking clue that the FIFA World Cup was playing in Seattle until I even got there.
And then you see everything everywhere. People going nuts. You got to love to see it, man. And for the USA to be playing as good as they are, I tell you what, it's a football, man. Is that the real football, Richard? That might be a question for another day. Some would argue that it is. Much, much, much, much, much, much different. Well, yeah. So, I mean, the soccer fanatics out there, it's a great time to be alive. FIFA World Cup in the U.S., Richard, let's get to American football, though. That's what our listeners want to hear about. And I want to start it out talking about the San Francisco 49ers and specifically Brandon Ayuk. This is a guy that begged and pleaded for a new contract. He got just that, and then everything just seemed to go downhill from there.
Richard, what do you make of this whole Brandon Ayuk situation? It's unfortunate, but it didn't start there. It started at the Super Bowl. It probably started even before the Super Bowl. Receivers are very incredible, interesting, but sometimes, you know, it's a fragility there in terms of, you know, how you deal with the psychology of the receivers on your team and how to make everybody happy. And on a team like San Francisco 49ers with an all-pro tight end, an offensive player of the year in the backfield, you got Deebo Samuel, it's hard, and Brandon Ayuk. Only one football. So I had to give the football to everybody at the same time. But Brandon Ayuk was the highest targeted guy.
