Hey there, Instance fans, it's Bobby here with a little supplemental episode of The Instance. I wanted to jump on and talk to you guys about some exciting news that just came out. Scott and I haven't done an episode of The Instance in a little while, so that's why I'm on here now. It's a little bit longer between episodes than normal. Not because we're abandoning you... Not because we've decided... We're loving doing the instance, and it's just sometimes you have trouble syncing up schedules. And we were, you know, having trouble syncing up schedules. So we're planning on recording something very soon, and so you're still getting more. But I wanted to jump in and give you guys a little quick breaking news update. Just recently, we had Blizzard...
put out a little sort of like looking forward a first look at housing player housing in World of Warcraft something that we're all very excited about I'm sure and so when I saw this I thought this is cool I bet World of Warcraft fans would love to hear about that so I'm going to jump on dig in a little bit and let's talk about what their first look is that they're giving us about player housing so For those, if you haven't been paying attention or haven't noticed, player housing is something that Blizzard has announced that they're going to do for World of Warcraft. It's going to be coming out in the Midnight expansion, or I believe it's going to be in the lead-up to the Midnight expansion. I actually don't know if that's confirmed, but when you look at the roadmap...
that they laid out it i think it very much looks like they uh they're doing it for to lead up to the midnight uh expansion like in the pre patch um stuff but either way it's coming with or just before the midnight expansion it's going to be player housing they're going to be people players are going to be able to acquire and personalize homes within the game and we've all been very excited about that announcement and wanted to know more all we had was this teaser video that they showed us some you know looked like an alliance person coming into their house sitting down and holding the mug and And that's a home sweet home on it and got everybody speculating and wondering what's going to be going on.
All the videos around the internet analyzing and dissecting pixel per pixel, frame by frame, every bit of the teaser announcement to try to see what they could... you know, prognosticate was going to be coming. And we had a couple of interviews that talked a little bit about it, but now this is the first like big, here's what we can tell you about player housing. And there's some really cool juicy details in there. One of the first things that they talked about was, and I really appreciate this, that they did this. One of the first things they talked about was, uh, three pillars of development for, or three sort of like core pillars of player housing. And, um, What they meant by pillars were that these are three, maybe values, maybe core principles that are going to hold up the player housing feature. Because they say this they plan to have be a very big feature that is evergreen and continues across many expansions to come. And so they say that with as big as they plan it to be,
They want it to be widely adopted, and as big as they plan it to be, they find that establishing some core pillars of this feature for everything to rest on is really, really useful. And so to help guide them and the large team of developers that are going to be working on it, And what are those three pillars? So the first one they said was boundless self-expression. They said, and I'm going to read a little bit here. Our highest priority is to allow players to build a house that shows off their personal tastes or their war bands, act as a desired backdrop for role-playing, or just allow players to create something in a flight of fancy. So that's cool. They want players to be able to express themselves very, very well.
um and for it to be easy to do they even said that they want the tool set to be easy enough for someone with no 3d experience to be comfortable with using but also be powerful enough this part is probably exciting for me and probably a lot of people who think that the feature might not offer enough detailed customization
