Maybe it's Maybelline. Welcome back ladies and gentlemen. Today we have a very interesting one, actually a part two. This is people's biggest regrets in life. So it's like older people or whatever and they're like, should've done this, shoulda done that. You know what a regret in life is. What am I saying? Here we go. This is a seventy year old man. He said this might sound weird to some people, but I regret saving so much money. I'm seventy years old now and have more than I need. I know I could have had some very fun experiences along the way and still saved if I was just willing to par with some of the money I made. I feel like Greg put this first because he knows. But I I this is something that I feel like I deal with all the time of thinking about like obviously you want to save for your future and you you know, I'm still young and I have to I want children one day and I have to get a house and those things.
Joe Santagato 1:08
But I I think it is important for people to remember that, you know, you shouldn't fetish money or feel like you just need to hoard it or get caught in the rat race of you always need more. You always need to that number in your bank account has to consistently go up all the time. Of course you do need to be in that mode when you are still at a place where you have to take care of your basic needs. But once you are able to save some money, I think that it's important to remember like I can start spending on vacations and dinners, experiences, whatever it is, you have to treat yourself because at the end of the uh at the end of your life, Those are the only things that you have. You don't really have the money that you're about to lose if you're dying.
Joe Santagato 1:48
Like you can pass that on, sure. And that is important.

Why does a 70‑year‑old man regret saving too much money?

Joe Santagato 1:51
But there is a difference between saving for the sake of saving because you're just conditioned to be like, I need to save money, I need to blah blah and and also just like wasting your life away. And it's like I'm not gonna spend that so I could save an extra like you're supposed to You have to let some of it go as you're building it as well. It's very important to remember that. I'm not gonna keep going on that, but you you you know. A forty-seven year old woman. I regret letting my insecurities and self-doubt stop me from doing things I've always wanted to do. I now realize that people were never thinking about me as much as I assume they were. Yeah, this is like very true. Obviously, easier said than done that w everyone thinks that everyone's thinking about them.
Joe Santagato 2:28
I think now, especially with social media, you think that you're like a star and everyone. what you're posting on your page, what's posting on your story, are you going to the cool places? Are you wearing cool clothes? But at the end of the day, everyone's just doing this. Swipe, swipe, swipe, click, click, click. No one really cares that much. But again, this is easier said than done. Everyone has insecurities and everyone has self-doubt. But I think that, at least in my experience, the greatest things that you want are on the other side of this kind of shit. When you are insecure about something or you have self doubt and you do it anyway, the best things are on the other side of that. That's the only way to kind of get across because the thing that bothers me more than anything.
Joe Santagato 3:06
More than failing or whatever is letting my insecurities and self-doubt win and just keep me in this chair. And then a week goes by or whatever amount of time goes by and I'm like, I'm an idiot. I could have at least attempted it. I don't know how that would have turned out, but now I'm sitting here. Like that bothers me more than anything. So of course there's going to be insecurities and self-doubt, which I deal with f every day of my life, and you have to continue making steps forward.
