Chapter 1: What snacks have Dave and Kitty been enjoying lately?
Hello and welcome to our podcast of junkies. I'm Dave O'Neill.
I'm Kitty Flanagan. This is the Sweet and Salty Roundabout. Get on board with Possum and the Big Guy.
Choo-choo. Choo-choo. Choo-choo. Choo-choo.
Dave, what have you been eating?
Oh, well, I bought my favourite snacks and you don't want to bar it. I love boiled lollies.
Oh, no, boiled lollies, that's fine. That's new. You haven't told us about those. I thought you were going to say twisties.
No, no, no, no. I have been eating twisties because thanks to Wayne from PepsiCo, I did that gig for them. And before I got paid, I got a lot of boxes of twisties, I'll tell you that much. I've still got some. And I love them.
Yeah, they never made their way to me. Thanks, Wayne.
Oh, I can get you some. I've still got some. Do you want some? Cheese?

Chapter 2: What are the new Smoothie Chews and their flavors?
You make me sound like I've got staff, like I live in a manor, but I've got a gardener. He's not my gardener. Well, the gardener's your lawns.
I've got some of those out lawns too, don't worry. I used to do it, but I ruined my back with an electric mower.
I've been eating those and I'll tell you what I can't get enough of. Nadine's Bobitos.
Oh, yeah, you love Bobitos.
Oh, my God, I can't get enough of them.
And you sent me a message saying you're going to Bobitos. Why don't you just go to Aldi and buy them?
Because they're all out. Someone's discovered the Bobito and I've been to several Aldi and they don't have them. And I took them to golf and made the mistake of offering them around. Everybody loved the Bobito.
Of course they did.
Yeah.

Chapter 3: How does the Mountain Dew chew compare to the original drink?
Just to Shepparton run, people. Don't think I'm big enough to get the Victorian Greyhound of the Year. Gee, it was good fun.
Did you meet any greyhounds?
No, there's never any greyhounds. They don't do it during a greyhound meet.
Did you ask about the rumour whether they put mustard on their bums to make them go faster?
I didn't ask about that.
I can't believe you. That would be my first question as I got up on the stage. Is it true you put mustard on their bums to make them go faster?
I should have. I've never heard that. I just think of all those horrible stories about greyhounds and then just, you know.
Yeah, well, I don't think mustard on their bum is a good story.
No, it's not a great story, to be fair. To be fair. And there was a great guy sitting on the front. He was so well-dressed. And I'm like, wow, look at the best-dressed guy in Shepparton. And he used to run a menswear shop.

Chapter 4: What are the unique flavors from the Pringles Passport Series?
You could probably get a greyhound. It's not like a racehorse. I think they're pretty cheap to invest in.
Yeah, but also apparently they're real lounge lizards. They don't actually need, they like to just lie around.
Yeah.
They're good couch surfers.
I don't think running around that track is natural. I'm putting it out there.
I think they're like a bit of a sprint, but they're not like working dogs that you've got to run for days. They just have one quick sprint and go, yeah, I'm done. Get the mustard off my bum. I'm done.
Yeah, chasing the fake rabbit or whatever they do. Anyway, they were good. They were good for that tree.
Yeah, those golden lollies.
Oh, they were great. They last a long time.

Chapter 5: What memories do jelly fruits evoke for Dave and Kitty?
It's not like a round suite where you kind of go, oh, this is all just nice in my mouth. I find rock has got those blunt, sharp edges.
Yes. There's some excellent ones, which I've got some at the โ where did I go on the weekend with Jasper? For Mother's Day, Kieran wanted to go to Waverley Antiques, which is this huge warehouse.
Kieran should ring me on Mother's Day. I would have gone.
Oh, fuck. Far out.
Wow. Next year, I'll take Kieran.
Yeah, you take her to Waverley Antiques. It's not even in Waverley. It's in Clayton for a start. I don't know why it's not called Clayton Antiques. And anyway, it's this huge warehouse with bric-a-brac. So, you know, people have stalls.
Yeah.
And so she bought like a jug.
I would love that.

Chapter 6: How do the hosts feel about the new hard candy flavors?
Thank God they had a New Zealand and Australian section. Because that was the best. They just had rows and rows of cereal, American cereal, and Pop-Tarts.
Did Jasper get any cereal?
Yeah, of course he did.
Cinnamon Grahams? I would like Cinnamon Grahams.
Oh, he didn't get them. What annoyed me, though, even Jasper agreed with this, and he's a young person, they had music going like it was in a nightclub. It was so loud when you're trying to look at it. In the lolly shop. Yeah, in the lolly shop. Why have you got the music so loud?
I don't know.
It's a great hard lolly that has sherbet in it. Yeah, and they're like a little pillow and you suck on it and it's got sherbet in it. What's it called? I think they're just called sherbet something or other. I can't remember. Sherbet hard lolly. Anyway. Hard lolly connoisseurs will know them. They're bloody great.
Sherbet hard lolly.
Sherbet hard lolly.

Chapter 7: What are the health benefits of gummies discussed in the episode?
So not like sherbet bombs.
No, no. It's like a boiled lolly with sherbet infused into it.
Oh, infusion. A sherbet infusion.
Oh, the best. They are. I should have brought some of them, but I ate them all.
Yeah, you didn't bring those. You just brought a couple of bottles of half-eaten rock and went, let's do this. And I was like, no.
And you said, oh, I just wanted to eat it. More for me. Anyway, we're going to start off with... Yes, I bought some stuff from that warehouse. We'll do that later.
Just on the hard rock candy, though, there was one that I used to like. It's not really hard rock candy, but remember Bo Peeps from Daryl E? Yes. I did used to love Bo Peeps.
They were musk.
No, no, no, Bo Peeps weren't musk. They were dotties. Oh, yes. Bo Peeps were like little miniature tiny hard lollies.

Chapter 8: What can listeners expect in the next episode of Chew News?
We're not doing them. Get back in your bag.
And then Cara sent you a jar of them as well. I'm not sure what flavour they are.
These are Castlemaine Rock. Yeah, I don't know what flavour it is. It looks like a weird flavour. Is it cinnamon or something? Yeah, they're kind of spew many things. Oh, you already know it. We had these when we were kids.
Oh, is it famous?
Oh, yeah, it's famous. Smell that. It's peppermint, I believe.
Oh.
Yeah, you'd hate it.
Yeah, custom made rock. And it's in an old Vegemite jar. No offence, Carl, but you haven't rinsed the Vegemite out well enough. It still smells like Vegemite.
Hey, I don't mind, Cara. Don't worry about it.
