Jackie O. Kyle and Jackie O. The Kyle and Jackie O Show. Morning, everyone. Hello. Hi, Brooklyn. Hi. Hi. Six o'clock is morning, staff.
Hello, everyone.
You might notice Jackie's not here. I spoke with her yesterday. She wants a couple of days off to gather her thoughts. Yeah. So it's just me and the lunatics here. That's you as well, Brooklyn.
Yeah.
So you've chatted and spoken to her. Oh, in all honesty, only on text. I tell you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same, actually. I'm not a big chatter on the weekend. Yeah. It's actually very hard to even get me on the phone. Bruno, you'll attest to that. How hard is it to get me on the phone on the weekend? Not easy, right? Impossible.
Impossible.
Yeah, yeah. Bruno often drives over.

Chapter 2: Why is Jackie O absent from the show?
It's easier to drive an hour and a half from his house. God, Bruno's life. It's like it's 1980 where he drives over and I'm not home so he has to drive all the way back again. God, what was life like back then? Oh, Brooklyn.
You'd waste an entire, like if you wake up on a Saturday, you're a kid, you think I'm going to go over to a mate's place and see if he's home, you'd get on your BMX bike after your Weet-Bix. Yeah. And after watching Cartoon Connection. Yeah, with Agro. And you'd ride over to your friend's house a good 50 minutes away. You'd pull up in the driveway, knock. Oh, g'day, is Alex here? No, sorry.
He's out for the day. Oh, righto then. And then you'd ride all the way home. And that was your day over. That was your Saturday finish. No wonder everyone spent so much time outdoors. You had no other options. Did you, Kyle, in your neighbourhood do a lot of yelling? A lot of yelling. Mum was yelling always. Kids! Come home for dinner!
Because that's how we'd figure out in our neighbourhood who was home. You'd be like, Sam! Oh, you'd just yell out. Is this in France? This was in Brisbane that we just yelled to see. I thought you grew up in France. Yeah, when I was really little, like six to eight. So you went from France to Brisbane. France to Brisbane to Quebec back to Brisbane. Oh, wow. Where's Quebec? In Canada.
But it's the French-speaking part of Canada. Canada. They're very, very rough over there. Actually, I did see some information about Canada today. Oh, is this about the shitty Toronto accent? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't realise. Because to me, I can never tell if someone's American or Canadian. You know, they all pretty much sound the same. Yeah, isn't the Canadian got that, like, air?
They put air in every sentence? I've never paid attention. In terms of how they speak French, it's very nasally, and you're right, there's a lot of... It's like a Queenslander sort of twang to it. Yes, yeah. So I've got here the English-speaking world. There are a ton of different accents. We know that you can speak English in the Scottish accent, South African, Kiwi, Australian, the American.
But you have no idea the Toronto accent. Actually, can we have some examples? Yeah, I need to hear. Of the Toronto accent, please.
You never know the context of people's things. If you got some shmoney, don't leave your people in the hood. You know what I'm saying? If I got some shmoney, I'm not leaving no one in the hood. She got super jatties on her phone. That's super diss. I'm out of there. Oh, no, I can't.
What was that last one? I can't. Is that just normal Toronto chat? Yeah, that's how they talk in Toronto. That last woman was barely understandable. The one about the shmoney? What are they? Is that what she's trying to say, money? Yeah, but they say shmoney because the accent has like Jamaican... It's really odd. And that's the Celine Dion accent, isn't it? Well, she's from Quebec.

Chapter 3: What memories do they share about childhood and outdoor activities?
That's a lot more nasally in French. Get some sort of continuity going, Canada. It's very confusing. I did meet a couple that were American in my last trip overseas, but they were wearing Canadian jumpers, like a lot of Canadian merch. And I was like, oh, you're from Canada. And they're like, we're actually from New York, but.
we're too scared to tell everyone from the USA because we don't think anyone likes Donald Trump. I was like, what a bunch of losers. Getting around in a maple leaf jumper. What did you actually say to them? I said, I love Trump. And they were like, oh, we love Trump too. They went on, they loved him too, but they were scared to travel. And I thought, you're wearing a Canadian jumper, would you?
It's ridiculous. Imagine if no one liked Alba and we're getting around a New Zealand jumper. It's ridiculous. Just wear a neutral jumper. A single colour would be fine. Just wear a yellow jumper. Actually, speaking of that, Kyle, can I just air a grievance about New Zealand and Australia? So you know in Australia how there's ANZ Bank? Yes. The Australian New Zealand Bank.
Yeah, that's what it stands for, right? Right. Hang on, do they not have ANZ Bank in New Zealand? You go over to New Zealand... Is it just... And it's called NZ Bank. No. But with the same logo. And it's like. Hang on. So they've just left Australia out of it. Yeah. And I'm like, what's going on here? Like, are you that embarrassed? And why do we have NZ? We should just be a bank.
No, but guys, we've got to take the upper road here. The higher ground. No good travel in the lower ground. They obviously have the funds to be ANZ because of the Australia thing. Oh, yeah. For sure. Just where's the love? You know, like we're Anzacs.
We fought together.
How long have you got to show the love over one? How long ago was that? To me, New Zealand is like a suburb of Australia. They should be cuddled in like a nice cousin. You know, like the cousin you used to make out with at the family barbecue. Remember those days? Yeah. Before you realised that you shouldn't be macking on with your cousin. But, like, we have no bad thoughts about New Zealand.
None. We just like them. A lot of the time we don't even think about you being there, but... You were like, oh, yeah. I did notice that on an old map, New Zealand looks more north of where it currently really sits.
Oh, really?

Chapter 4: What are the implications of dating in the workplace?
I know, exactly. And nothing wrong with Asians, but just not my type usually.
Oh, no, Pete's waving his hand around. Pete loves the Asians, right? Yes, they are. They're beautiful people. Shout out to them.
Definitely beautiful, but just not wanting to go in that way with people.
Plus, in a Chinese takeaway, the last thing you want to do is get into a relationship and then it goes south and then you've got to work. You can't get rid of it. Exactly, who's going to make my Mongolian beef perfect every night? Our good's Mongolian beef, in all honesty. Yeah, my favourite. You love that? I'm a big fan of the sweet and sour pork.
Chapter 5: What are the favorite dishes discussed in the podcast?
Yes, and the Kung Pao chicken, delightful. I love a honey chicken.
Yeah, thank you. Honey chicken.
That is one of the top sellers, if I have to say, honey chicken.
Of course. See, I buy the honey chicken and I don't think there's enough honey in it. It's too much chicken. Ask for extra honey. Oh, really?
Ask for your sauce separate. Separate? Yes, because it keeps the chicken crispy, and then you put the sauce in when you get it home, and then you're going to have as much sauce as you like.
That's a good tip. What's in the spring rolls, for real?

Chapter 6: How does the conversation shift to personal relationships and dating?
What do you mean? What is it? Like, what's in there? For realsies.
What's going on there? No, like proper stuff. It depends. You've got vegetarian or you've got pork, but it's mainly vegetables, even in pork ones.
Right.
Is that right? But they are real.
Okay. Yeah. No, I just heard some things.
No, no, no.
If you're a male listener to the show, since she can't date from work, because there's only a small group of folks there. Yeah, exactly. She's in a regional town. In what town are you in, Michelle? Where are you exactly? In Foster, New South Wales. In Foster in New South Wales. Yeah. So would you be open to maybe an interstate truckie that swings in every now and then?
Well, that's all right because it's been quite a while, so that's one thing I'm definitely needing.
Well, then the good thing about an interstate truckie is, hey, darling, I'm swinging through. Exactly. And you go, oh, yeah, I'll see you or I won't. And then they're gone for another two weeks. That's probably the best situation.

Chapter 7: What does David Genat keep from his TV appearances?
Because everything I've ever worn on Australian Idol or X Factor or Australia's Got to Any show I've ever done over the decades. I keep all the clothes. That's the deal I have. A lot of people borrow clothes and hand them back. This might blow you away, but mine have to be tailor-made for my body. So therefore, they're not straight off the rack samples like a model would wear.
They're bespoke.
Correct. Who are you lending your clothes to? No, I don't lend them to anyone. I'm saying a lot of people borrow the clothes for TV and then give them back to the shops.
Oh, okay.
Sorry. Yeah, yeah. But mine aren't like that. So... I've got hundreds and hundreds of suits and all weird looking jackets too that you'd never wear out.
Like that red jacket you're wearing on the latest season of Idol.
Yes, I look like Santa Claus's younger brother on that. I own that jacket. Do you think I'm ever going to wear it? Never. So my wife's like, can we get all of these hundreds and hundreds of outfits out of the wardrobe?
But that's different.
So she can hang at least one outfit in the wardrobe. If you're not wearing the clothes, then, yeah, get rid of them. Like, what's the point of having them? But this was his favourite shirt.

Chapter 8: How do the hosts feel about throwing out a partner's clothes?
No. Now, that's a real twist on words. Yeah.
I've had an outfit before where he said, what's that? And I've never worn it again.
Is it that one you're in now?
No. Oh, no. Oh, my apologies.
We'll be bidding this one when I get home too. A one-piece jumpsuit. Like, really? You're a grown woman. It's a top and skirt. Oh, my apologies.
The point is, is apparently I'm too harsh and this is not something that you should do to your partner and I'm a bully.
So that's why I just wanted to get your take on it. What do the other ladies here think? Now, girls, we'll go to the girls here first. What is your take on the throwing out the partner's ugly clothes? According to you, ugly.
Yeah, it's Chelsea here. I think Nat's doing him a favour. Thank you. You don't like the shirt either. I hate the shirt. And also, she's very much in her right to have that opinion.
But you being Indian background, surely you would appreciate the tigers. Don't tigers wander around India?
