What are the main themes of the Left Wing season preview introduction?
Hey there, we are Indo Sport with me, Joe Malloy, and we have things like this. Most people in the twenty-six counties, it's it's more divisive, obviously, in the north. But most people are on board with that. And it it let's be honest, I'm on Indo Sport, I can curse, it's not Indo Daily, right? Pissed off the Brits. Yeah. And so I think there was an element of he's endeared himself, he's come to our country. Team Arland.
He's Tim Arland. It does sound like a Trump to do list, doesn't it? Piss off Brits, watch golf. You're kinda like you've got you're halfway home.

Hello everybody and welcome to the Left Wing podcast. That noise you can hear in the background is the Left Wing season preview cranking into gear and we've so much to talk about. With all the four provinces heading into the new URC season, the Champions Cup season, the international season that we're splitting it across the next two weeks. It's going to be a Munster connoct focus this week, although there are some juicy Leo Cullen quotes that might sneak in just at the end. Uh but yeah, rugby fever very much alive and well here on the left-wing podcast. So I'd be joined, as always, by Luke Fitzstrell. Luke, how are you? Good Will. How are you? I'm doing very well. I'm doing very well. The new season coming into view.
Uh reminder that the left-wing podcast is. Podcast is sponsored by Energia. Tracy was actually going down the road to Limerick this afternoon to talk to some Munster people. Keen, how are you?
Good Will, my excitement levels are cranking up a notch. Definitely when you hear the whirl of the left wing season preview, you know it's the most wonderful time of the year, but um it seems like it's been a long enough sort of build-up, hasn't it? I know the season is starting later. Like you think back to the Ireland tour feels like just such a long time ago now. And the last couple of weeks have been a bit of a drag in terms of trying to get to that starting line. So we've another full week to go. Oh obviously, but I'm really looking forward to it, I have to say.
I probably say this every year, but I'm really looking forward to this season. I feel like there's been a nice actual break. I actually liked the little break. I felt like last year, maybe because it was a lions year, not that we're players, but I felt like it was almost straight in almost it felt like. Whereas this was a nice little bit of a break. This is African New Zealand year. Was it just it was freaking at the end, get some WD forty into the joints? I think last year because the break was when I was on paternity leave, so it was only a quasi break for me. I was pretty busy. So this you know this. This time I really got to relax and recharge the batteries. And says Africa New Zealand was just a kind of a nice amount of kind of appetite wetting ahead of the new uh season from an Irish perspective.
So uh yeah, as I said, we're gonna do Munster and Conock predominantly this week, Leinster and Ulster predominantly next week. The season starts on Friday week, Friday, September 25th. Um so yeah, we're it's very much coming into view. We'll start with Munster Key, and you are going there um later today just to give people the Brief overview of last season. They lost in the URC quarterfinals to the Bulls 45-14, a heavy defeat in Loftus first felt. They finished fifth in the table, eleven wins out of their 18 uh regular season games, but they started with five in a row. So I think everyone knows now the season kind of tailed off pretty substantially, kind of post that Leinster win in Crogue Park, which at that stage it looked like a you know the Clayton McMillan era was lifting off, but not to be and in that sense.
