In my past career in law enforcement, assuming that a protocol was followed without checking the data was a sure way to get someone hurt. In the business world, it is a sure way to go bankrupt. Too many founders hire a new manager, give them total autonomy and never check the metrics because they do not want to seem like a micromanager. If that manager slowly drifts off standard operating procedures and ruins your client retention, the fault is entirely yours. Whether you are running a sales floor or offshore logistics, delegating the task does not mean you delegate the accountability.

When your top operators know that the metrics will always reflect the truth, the elite players will push themselves harder to prove their worth, and the weak players will expose themselves instantly.
