We got a lot to cover. College football, NFL draft wise. Um I mean first thing we we start the tape truths on a Monday with with my tape truth. After going back and watching all the tape you have since Saturday night's games, what's your tape truth, Steve?
Uh, Julian Sain is on fire and he's not gonna slow down against a very good Iowa defense. And I think that when you start to look at it, The the deck is really stacked against Iowa in this game. Julian Sane is completing 72 pr two percent of his passes right now. He leads the Big Ten in passing yards per game. We know what he's got in terms of weapons. I'm looking at the Iowa defense last week against Michigan, and as good as it is and as disciplined as it is, It doesn't have elite talent and Michigan and Bryce Underwood expose that a little bit. And I think that those little cracks that you saw in that game are gonna get blown wide open by this Iowa state attack. Look, it all Satan has to do is stay patient in this game.
I think that Phil Parker from the defense corner from Iowa is gonna try and get him to he's gonna play a lot of two high looks and force him to be patient and not force anything downfield. But like that's what Saiyan's built to do, man. He is great at making touch throws into pockets and zone looks outside the hashes. He has the timing and enough, you know, arm strength to throw into pockets over the middle. Their Arthur Smith is going to run all kinds of zone beaters. They're going to put stress on that coverage. And a big question here will be: and it's kind of bad on bad, to be honest with you, will Iowa be able to make him uncover? comfortable with the pass rush and my gut says no. I think that Ohio State's offensive line is their Achilles heel, but I was front four.
They don't have anyone really up front that could consistently apply pressure. And when you add the fact that Julian Sain is really underrated in terms of in terms of extending plays and moving around the pocket. And Ohio State did a good job against Texas of using max protect and using tight Ends and backs to widen edge rushers and slow down that Texas pass rush. I think Saiyan's going to have plenty of time. And one thing that I will add here at the end is when you look at this and you're Ryan Day and you're talking to Saiyan before this game, you're probably saying to him, hey man, we've got a pretty good defense on the other side of the ball. We don't need you to force anything. Just take what they give you, let your playmakers make plays and continue to be the most efficient quarterback, one of the most efficient quarterbacks.
