She's a world expert on violence. She taught at Yale School of Medicine and Yale Law School for 17 years before joining the Harvard program in psychiatry. and law. She earned her degrees at Yale, interned at Bellevue Medical Center, was the chief resident at Massachusetts General Hospital, the chief research fellow at Harvard Medical School. He will um Uh he will continue to be played by these leaders. He is ex extremely manipulable. The the flip side of uh individuals with mental impairments like like his uh n is that he not only manipulates and exploits and abuses uh individuals who are inferior to him, but he would be easily manipulated and exploited and abused by those who he sees as his superior. It is a kind of Um Very primitive, hierarchical domination subordination. uh model by which they live and and That I uh see in the have seen in in my entire clinical career of twenty five years of treating violent offenders in in maximum security prisons and and um uh individuals from street gangs or other um settings where uh the rule of the jungle uh reigns.
Um and Relationships are not based on equality, collaboration, and cooperation toward a productive goal. It is always strife. And uh who gets uh the dominant position versus the the subordinate one. And if you feel that you are not going to be dominant, the stronger one in that um In that pair, for example. then you would align yourself with the stronger individual so that they uh the assumption is that they will protect you. But of course uh such indiv individuals do not protect, they exploit.
