We're addressing this question that CEOs quietly think, but rarely say out loud. Can a CEO be truly world class?
Think about it, just pause for a moment. Because you see, modern leadership Credibility is often associated with qualifications. But performance is measured by results, not certificates. Having said that, when I join conversations and I hear people saying, you don't need qualifications or certificates in the business world today, I feel very put out and tick-a-dent having studied for seven years. Is there a difference? Yes, I think there is. I think it affects your confidence and your credibility and how you can communicate with ease when you've got a qualification. But today let's look at what elite leadership standards might look like. I often think when I used to go the university and i'd see people doing mbas and i used to think what does that really mean how could we condense that and i realized what it actually meant it was the gold standard in business it was the gold standard of being a business leader and then i looked at if i could choose four areas that i would want to
have a gold standard myself or share a gold standard it would be academic excellence it would be strategic training when you look at academic excellence depending on your up your level and the organization you work for you might need to learn new skills which then leads us on to strategic training. The two skills that I think are very relevant right now is an always be ready to speak and chief exec and business executives are not always ready. They speak off the cuff and sometimes they can get away with it. But right now in the business world, you need to have a framework for the boardroom, a framework for winning angel investment, a framework for speaking to your joint ventures.

And that way will take us to the third one, which is your business credibility. And the fourth one is having a structured way to commercial viability. Yes, it can be incredibly valuable having the MBA certificate, but what I'm sharing with you is MBA material. that I discovered, that I learned and trained in. I want you to have the framework and the models and the intellectual discipline that supports individual leaders, that turns ordinary leaders into exceptional leaders to become that. class act you see I've now had to think and rethink that a qualification alone perhaps does not guarantee a world-class performance does it what's your thoughts on that what do we mean a world-class performance I use these words a lot speaking with class presence with class
And when I do my 90 day programme, it's filled with exceptional training and modules on leading with class, having that gravitas and becoming a class act. People sometimes say to me, you know, I don't know if I can become a class act. Yes, you can. And to be a class act and becoming a class act means Something I wrote about this morning. Are you mediocre? No. Are you ordinary? No. Have you added the extra onto ordinary to become extraordinary? Yes. Have you moved up into the fast track lane of being world class?
