Third, the country of Norway just announced a major commitment to oil and gas exploration. Environmentalists are outraged. Fourth, we’ve got a poll showing where South Africans would rather live — either the US, Russia, or China. The results tell us a lot about / not just South Africa, but why the US is still a pretty exceptional place. Later, we close out the podcast with a personal observation about the US Treasury Secretary’s visit to Africa. She’s making a lot of promises for aid.
