Chapter 1: What NBA Finals updates are discussed at the beginning?
Celebrate the holidays at Advent Health Sports Park December 20th. Start your day with brunch and bowling with Santa at 10 a.m. Then hit the ice for skating with the Grinch at 2 p.m. Festive fun, photos, and family memories all in one magical day. Don't miss it at Advent Health Sports Park.
You are listening live to the program. Your teams, your town, your program.
Box now passed to Wemby. Wemby rises. His shots go good. Rebound Knicks. Game's over. Lucky 13 for the Knicks. Their 13th straight win has given New York a two games to none lead in these NBA Finals. It hits the bottom of Brandon Bussey's foot. That's about as unlikely a way to lose in double overtime as you could imagine. Well, hit center field. It's a deep center field. Fragler is back. Gone!
Way up into the batter's eye.
And now, a man who's already scored three goals, Seren Petro.
Right you are, Petro on the program on Sports Radio 810 WHB as we are on the road and live at the FIFA Fan Festival right here, the beautiful Liberty Memorial. As the backdrop, they've got a massive stage. It is going to be the biggest party Kansas City has ever seen, and it's happening right here. You can get your tickets.
They don't cost nothing if you just want to get into the general admission. No cost. Go to kc2026.com. They've got the soft opening tonight that's going on, so maybe you've got some tickets. I don't know how I got in here. I'm going to tell you, I ain't on no A-list. But I'm in here, and it is going to be an electric atmosphere all throughout the World Cup. Get your tickets, kc2026.com.
Like I said, you can get free admission, but you do need to go get those tickets. So don't think you're just going to, like... Dial it up on your phone right before you walk in because once they're at capacity, that's it. Tickets are done. So three days in advance may be completely sold out. So if you're planning on coming down here, they've got a massive screen.
They're going to be having concerts. Flo Rida is going to be here. The Chainsmokers are going to be here. It's going to be a great, great time right down here in the middle, in the heart of the heartland, right by the Liberty Memorial, right here on the beautiful grounds of the Liberty Memorial. So hopefully everybody gets a chance to come on out. And enjoy it. It will be, I think, quite a party.

Chapter 2: How did the Knicks perform in their recent game?
Tech 9. You might hear a little Tech 9. Easton has been pumping his fist to Tech 9 throughout this process. He's all fired up. So, definitely. You know, I think everybody's going to enjoy coming down here. I don't know how you could not have a good time coming down here and checking out everything that's going to be going on. It looks beautiful. It's a great setup.
I'm going to tell you, like, I'm assuming this is going to be a great precursor to what the fans experience. I'm certainly hoping it. It was amazing. One of the easiest get-intos that I've ever dealt with in getting media stuff, I had to get a credential. I had to fill out a little form or something back a couple weeks ago online.
But, I mean, coming in and getting my credential, friendly people, everyone pointing me to where I needed to go. And then coming in here, and it looks beautiful. You come down that main walkway, or main driveway, I should say, which is all closed. The cars aren't going through here. But you might see some golf carts shuttling some people around.
But you come down, and there's all kinds of tents along the way. And we are here at the Legacy Center. Legacy Lounge. Legacy Lounge. Thank you. I need to commit that to memory. The Legacy Lounge. And it is... As great a setup as you've ever seen at, like, a golf tournament. Like, it's two levels, fans going TVs.
It is a truly, truly awesome place to be here to watch game highlights, to watch concerts, to watch shows. It is just a really, really cool setup. And so looking forward to being down here.

Chapter 3: What key moments defined the Knicks vs. Spurs game?
Today we're going to be back down here on Thursday for the big ā Blowout, the big opener for the games here in the U.S. We'll be back here on Thursday for that. And then I think we got another one. We're not even sure what day, but I get to come back here at least one more time. And it's spectacular. I'm going to tell you, you know, I heard people say, oh, parking, this and that and whatever.
I cannot give you a report on where to park if you're coming down here. I used... I used ā it's a new ride share app called Lynn. You know, it's better than Lyft, better than Uber. Starts with the same few letters. My wife drove me down.
Chapter 4: What insights are shared about the FIFA Fan Festival?
Yeah, drove me down here. And I'll either Uber back or catch a ride with Easton, so I'm not messing around with trying to park. So I can't give you any tip.
I can't give you any tip either. Those things happen when you go live, so we'll establish a connection relatively shortly. One thing he was mentioning, Tech N9ne, and anyone who's spent any time at all with Easton knows, he knows every lyric for every Tech N9ne song. He literally walks down the hallway just doing Tech N9ne songs all day.
It's a little distracting, and it's a little weird, but hey, we each... We each have our cross to bear, and that is his. I'm looking to you for some. Are we close? Should we break? I don't know. It's pretty early for a break. But if we don't think we're going to get any connection back, we'll maybe take a break and see if we can't reset this. Maybe I can go load the proper open.
What's the direction from FanFest? Just hang around, and we can set up the show. Let's just set up the show. Yeah, let's do that. So when we establish connection with Saran, of course, down at the Fabulous Fan Fest as everything gets rolling this week, 3 o'clock we'll have Frank Bull.
We'll be here, and we'll do Frank Opinions, and there'll be some pretty good mix of NBA, Royals, Chiefs, and other things. We'll play, of course, What in the World. Sam McDowell will join Saran at the Fan Fest. We'll talk about... Pretty eventful week in college sports and a fairly eventful week, I guess, in sports in general. But the college football thing keeps growing and growing and growing.
And now the Big Ten is on the board as saying that they're going to discuss not playing Texas Tech in any sports this coming scholastic year. And that's how much does that go on Texas Tech? How much does that go on the NCAA? It seems like every time you look at Twitter, there's a new story about that. So we'll talk about that.
Of course, we'll talk about the where the Royals are, what's happening in the NBA finals, which is. There's some stats out there that I think maybe are a little bit misleading, including one that I actually put out there. But it's the NBA. It's hard to beat a good team on any court. So we're back down at FanFest.
Yep, yep. And that's the key to living for 200 years. I hope everybody got that down. I hope you got it jotted down.
There was a scene in Forrest Gump where the mic goes out, and when I was in Vietnam, then it all goes out, and he comes back on, and that's all I have to say about that.

Chapter 5: How can fans get tickets to the FIFA Fan Festival?
It's a little bit like that. It's great. I mean, this is, they are still, you know, last-minute setup going on. And like I said, you're going to hear the mics testing and everything. So, you know, we might have a couple of challenges. But that's why we left the big guy, McLaren Simmons of Sports Talk Radio, Curtis Siebold, back at the studio for just moments like that.
By the way, for you to take control. I mentioned while you were down that if there's one person, if anyone knows Easton, we know that he's the biggest Tech N9ne fan in the world. And he just walks around the hallways reciting Tech N9ne lyrics. Is he doing that today, too, I assume?
Yes. He's pumping his fist at the right time during the songs. And, you know, apparently he's got the whole spiel. I was not aware of this. It's a sight. Yeah, but in fact, Tech N9ne is going to be down here tonight, right? And so I thought I had a ride home with Easton. He goes, Tech N9ne's flying out. I'm like, oh, does that mean you're not leaving right when we're done?
You know, I was kind of thinking in my head. I'm like, I'll get an Uber, buddy. It's all right. You're fine. It's all right. He had committed to giving me a ride, and then he's like, well, I kind of want to stay for, I'll give you a ride.
Yeah.
I'm like, why don't you stay? And that's exactly how he sounds, too. Yeah. When he's hemming and hawing. He has a mic on. He could just flip the mic in front of his face and click it on and actually defend himself here. You don't know? You don't want to sound exactly like I just made you sound. Is that it? Correct.
Or if he doesn't necessarily think he's being misrepresented. As I often say to people when they're on a rant, I'll just say, I'll stop you if I think you're veering off course. No, that's pretty much me.
No, but it is cool. It's really cool. And it's going to be a lot of fun down here. So I hope everybody gets down here. We've got a lot we're going to get to today. In one way, shape, or form, we are going to talk to Frank Bull, the godfather of Kansas City sports. We'll get some Frank opinions. Find out if Frank is more excited for the Chainsmokers or Flo Rida or Tech 9. Has all the albums.
All of them. Is Peter, Paul, and Mary playing tonight? Yeah, they're on a backstage. They're on the backstage. Yeah, they're on the backstage. So look for them. Are they even alive? I think one of them might be. Okay, okay.

Chapter 6: What are the final thoughts on the Royals' performance?
Yeah. I thought I saw after game two it was around 220 or 230, just going on memory. That's it? Something like that. Maybe that was after game one. I thought it was after game two that that happened, after they won on Friday. But I can't remember.
I would have thought that it would have been a lot higher. And I'm trying to find something where ā where I can see it. But anyway, still minus 178 for the Knicks.
And go ahead. The other thing is I think, and I kind of jumped on this too. We talked about I'm a stat guy and a history guy, and I like to try to find precedent. And I heard a couple of comments I didn't hear. I read one. Someone posted today, a national NBA writer, that no team ā
had I guess only one other time has the road team won the first three games and never has a road team won the first four. I'm like, well, it's only happened once that they won the first three. You know, there's only been one opportunity to win the first four and it didn't happen. And I think oftentimes and I try to be mindful of this when I come up with when I look at stats. what do they mean?
It's just numbers. How do you apply them? And what does it actually mean to put something out there? Because I see a lot of stats that get put out there that I'm like, so what?
You know, the going down to nothing on the road, you know, when that came out, it was like, well, only two players or only two teams have ever lost the first two games at home in the NBA series and championship finals, and neither one of them won. That seems to say more about what the Knicks did than what the Spurs are facing.
I mean, it's only happened twice, so there have only been two test subjects. And by the way, one of those teams, the Suns, took it to six and was the last second John Paxson three ball from taking it to seven. And the other team that didn't was facing the defending champion, the Orlando Magic facing the Rockets.
So I think being up 2-0 coming home wasn't necessarily the death knell for the Spurs that a lot of people painted it to be. You mean... Going down 2-0, going on the road. Yeah, that's what I mean. Going down 2-0, going on the road was like, well, this has never happened. They're toast. Not necessarily the case because there's not a lot of data on what happens there. They win one game.
Well, now it's 2-1.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of the recent NBA Finals results?
And you know, that's, that's something to keep in mind. If he's going to keep getting healthier and healthier as it goes, he's a premium player for that team. So we'll see. We talk about Mike Brown complaining about the officials. We can talk about, do you like all the celebrities there right up front in New York? It's,
I'm ambivalent about it. It's the same people every time.
It's the Jeff Passan seat. I read a story. I read a story about it. You know, they don't pay for those seats. The deal is... You know, you got to be an A-lister. You got to be a Knicks fan. You got to root for the Knicks. If you get the tickets, you can't give them away. You got to have your ass in your seat when the game starts.
They have this fancy, like I think it's called Club 200 or MSG 200 or something. That's the underneath club where all the celebs go to hobnob so that you're not with the general unwashed, that crossed bridges to come see the games. The proletariat.
Right?
They flash lights in that club to tell you that the game is about ready to go, and your ass is expected to be in those seats. Wow. And if not, you don't get invited back. So all those celebrities, they're not paying for it.
In fact, Spike Lee, I read in this story that I read about, Spike Lee said he's probably the dumbest guy on earth for paying millions of dollars over his lifetime for courtside Knicks season tickets. Mm-hmm. But he actually buys his tickets. So when you see Spike Lee, he's not over there.
But when you see that row of Timothee Chalamet and I don't know whoever he's dating, she looks like a starlet.
Who is it? It's one of the... Kylie Jenner. Yeah, one of the Jenner. Kylie Jenner. Kylie or Kendall Jenner. Kylie Jenner? Mm-hmm.

Chapter 8: What discussions arise regarding college athletics?
You know, doesn't want to defend himself, but he wants you to know that's Kylie Jenner. Who else was there? Tracy Morgan. Ben Stiller. Larry David was there, too. Yeah. Larry David was there. So all of them.
Benson and Stabler from Law & Order SVU, you know.
Are they on that network? Because I don't think they were in the celebrity row. I think they were sitting somewhere else, weren't they? No, they were. I thought they were front.
Yeah, Mariska Hargitay and Chris Maloney. But were they with the rest of that group? They were on the front row because I saw a shot of ā I know they were on the front row, but were they in there with the rest of the group?
Because there's that section that that group is in is like the spot where you're getting all the freebies. I don't know if that was just a plug for their ā I don't know. I might be wrong. They might have gotten it. But I didn't think they were sitting with, like, Ben Stiller and all that group. But anyway, they're expected to be in their seat. Wow. You cannot leave early.
You stay the whole game because they want to. And when you go on the Jumbotron, you smile and you wave. You're expected to do a PSA for Nick's charity. If they come by and say, hey, we want to get you a video for like, I don't know, I can't remember what their charity is called. You're expected to do it. You damn well have to cheer for the Knicks.
You have to show loyalty, and you cannot question ownership's decision-making. If you question, like, this is a bad coaching hire, this is a dumb move, you ain't getting invited back. No one's only inviting people. So you just either keep your mouth shut or say the guy's a great owner. But that's how it works for those courtside seats for all the celebs. That's amazing.
I had no idea that was the case. Yeah. That's crazy. So it's the Jeff Passon seat. Yep. Once you make all the money and you can afford it, you don't have to pay for it. They just give it to you.
Yep. And I'm looking at Jeff right now on television, so I'm thinking about that right now.
