Texas Tech has positioned itself with the amount of money they're willing to put into football and the level they're playing to potentially be one of those schools to add. Unless everybody's like, no, no, you're the guys that cheat. So you ain't coming to this party. Yeah. So I think the idea and the fallout of having every school not want to be in a league with you.
When I think we all feel like there's changes coming in the next, you know, four to eight, eight, ten years. Do you really want to alienate everyone that you want to be your business partner moving forward? And so I think from that standpoint, they're going to cave and they're going to punt him.
That's what I think will happen. I saw the Big Ten was yesterday said that there was discussions ongoing this week about all of their schools saying they're not all of their teams not playing Texas Tech in any sport.

And Jeff Bassett said, well, what do you know about teams that win a bunch of games that have a low run differential? And I said, I don't know that the run differential is the better indicator of what they are. And he said, no, it means they have a good bullpen. And I think he's right about that.
Statistically, they have the best of the league.
I think he's right about that. But I also think I'm right, that the run differential is a better indicator of who you are than your wins and losses. And if you want to predict going forward, if you've got a bunch of wins and you're plus one, they don't get to take those away.
But if you want me to predict how you're going to go at plus one on your run differential, 60-plus games into it, I think you're going to play 500 ball the rest of the way.

Chapter 6: What challenges does the Royals' management face this season?
And that is the case with them. The Royals, if the Yankees hold on, the Royals will take the field tonight seven and a half out behind... The Guardians. They would take the field, because also the Red Sox are losing, and the Red Sox are basically tied with the Royals right now. They're down 5-4 to the Rays. I mean, it does feel like Rays and Yankees, go. Yeah, just go.
Win every game except for when you play the Royals, and that will be good news for the Royals. Because the teams that are attainable and catchable, you'll be dragging back to them. And so right now the Rays are up 5-4. Those are the only two games that are going right now. But so they'll enter the field of play, assuming the Yankees don't blow this. And they have now made it 8-3.
So, so far the jinx ain't working. And still have two on. They've added two more and are still batting in the top of the seventh. They'll take the field seven and a half back, which I don't love. And I don't love that they've got to pass everybody except Detroit, who they're tied with. But they're doing their damnedest to drag me back into going, well...
Because the rest of the American League, I mean, we talk about it, and it's intelligent, historically proven out reality that when you've got, okay, it's only three and a half games, it's only four and a half games, but there's five teams to pass, that's a problem. History has proven that time and time again.
Because you need too many other things you don't control to happen. It only takes one of those teams to not collapse. If you've got one team ahead of you, you just need one team to collapse and you catch fire.
Yeah. And I believe, I'm sure the Tigers probably have the tiebreaker as why they're listed ahead. Maybe not. Maybe it's just alphabetical Detroit over Kansas City as to why they're doing it. But it seems in my recollection like the Tigers stuck it to the Royals so far this year that they would probably have the better record. And if that's the case, then you've got seven teams still to clear.
But it is just four and a half. I mean, it was five and a half when J.J. Piccolo said, no, we're not talking about selling. I mean, yes, we have conversations of all kinds all the time. But no, we're focused on winning baseball games. We're not thinking about the trade deadline here in early June. Which, listen, I'm not going to lie to you. If that's true, I don't love it.
I would always be burning the phone. I would be the most annoying person. and used to be in fantasy sports when I had time. Offer somebody else. Let him talk his way into the guy that you know he's going to want and you're willing to give up. But don't start with that because he's never going to do it unless he gets more out of it.
It's the same thing. I've talked to numerous GMs for the Royals over the years. And even some guys that have gone on to other teams and like, oh, yeah, that guy's a pain in the ass. I mean, you're going to get offered nothing unless, you know, he's up against it and feels like his job is on the line. Then you might get a real offer out of him. It's all the same. But J.J.
sat there on Monday talking to reporters and said, we're not thinking about the deadline. It's only five and a half out. It's June 9th. Well, now it's four and a half out and it's June 10th. And we're, you know, like the White Sox are 66 games into this and they're four over and they're the number two wild card. And they've lost their best home run guy for like four to six weeks.
I know because I got him on my team too. The Blue Jays are now in front of the Rangers, but they're two under. They hold the third one. Like how many games in before somebody takes control of this? Yeah. I mean, at some point, we're 68 in. We're past the one-third mark. Next up is halfway.
