No. And it wasn't Peter the Great either. No. Neither one of those. No, sir. I was just talking. We were just talking off the air. God, it's been... I started doing this in 74 over at WDEF right before the Golden Beacon, David Lawrence. And working for a guy named Dick Carlson who was the voice of the... Yes, he was. The voice of the Kings and the voice of the Chiefs at one time.
Chapter 2: Who are the main guests in this episode?
He was also the voice... He wasn't the voice at Arrowhead. I guess he was the voice of the Chiefs.
Yeah, he was. And a very knowledgeable guy. But I'll tell you, you're two, you're working with, well, in absentia right now with Saran, but you're working with two of the very best.
Oh, yeah. Carlson had the gig, and then it was not... Wayne Larravee. Then Larravee went to Green Bay and Kevin Harlan took over. There were some good voices in that booth.
Oh yeah, there were. There were some very good voices. I went from there over to BZ with Don Burley. And did that show for some time. Legend. A classic. So, I mean, really, Kansas City, but I think Kansas City right now, as far as sports talk goes with you guys, I think it's the best in the country. I might be a little prejudiced, but I think you guys that do this show are the best.
I think it's accurate.
I think it's accurate.
Too kind. Well, I think you know me well enough, Curtis. I don't think I'd say that, really. No. Unless I meant it. And I mean it. You guys are damn good at what you do. Thank you. And this young man right here, he's on his way. So he's on his way. Yes, he is.
You guys are too kind.
The next generation. Choked up. Well, you're learning from the bad end. You're going to be the best.

Chapter 3: What is the significance of Kansas City sports talk?
All good. Was it worth it?
Yeah, not bad. You've got some George Karloffis and Dan Frankel.
They're both very good. Those guys are both good.
Well, they're due for a comeback this year, Todd.
Yeah, they better.
And I think they're up for it. Number 15, everybody says, well, you know, he might be. No, he is not done. No. 15 minus 20% at 80% is still pretty damn good, and he's good in the National Football League. So I ain't betting against the Chiefs. I'm sorry. Anything to add?
No, I don't think many people in this town would. Well, Kyle, I know this is your segment. There can be only one. Finally said it correctly. I'm going to swing it to you. Let's get this thing started.
All right, guys. Jack, we'll start with you. Question number one. Who wins the Stanley Cup? Vegas, Carolina, Montreal.
I'm going to go with Vegas. Why not? Because they're a team that they won their first year.

Chapter 4: What predictions are made for the Stanley Cup winner?
I will take two myself also because I think Waka, with two more quality starts, which I think he'll have, I think he gets in.
Yeah, Waka definitely deserves it. I'll take two. Was I next or did I go out of turn?
No, you're right. I'm next, Todd. You're on the phone, so we're just going to have you go last every time. I'm going to be pessimistic here. I think it's only going to be Bobby Wood Jr. I'm sticking with one. Who you got, Todd?
Two. Walker deserves it for sure. And Bobby's going to go.
Yeah. Yeah.
I like it. I dig it. All right, moving on. Question number five. Bobby Wood Jr. finishes where in MVP voting this year? This is me first? Yes, Jack Leedonoff.
It's really hard to win the MVP if your team's not good. I mean, you have to be leading in damn near every single category. You have to be Ernie Banks. You do. And unfortunately, unless there's some miraculous turnaround, which would probably mean Bobby Witt Jr. does hit .330, I don't see him getting it this year. So I'll say that he finishes second for the second time in his career. Pete?
I think he's going to end up about number four. Fourth, all right. Can't tell you who's going to be ahead of him. I'm pretty sure, well, last year I would have said Cal. But, no, I think about third. Let's say third. Third. He'll finish third.
Yeah, I'm going to go third as well. You might see Munataka Murakami ahead of Bobby with the season he's having. So, give me third for Bob. It's unfortunate, but I think that's where he lands. Kato? Three.

Chapter 5: Which teams are discussed for the NBA Finals matchup?
Where will the Chiefs land in the pre-week one NFL power rankings? CSPNs? Whose is this? Yeah. Consensus power rankings? Yeah, consensus. Right before that Monday night against Denver. We had Todd lead off. Curtis, why don't you lead off this one?
I'm going to say eight.
Eighth in the power rankings.
Jack? I'll go 10 because I think that a lot of people are going to put last year into their minds and say all they added was Kenneth Walker. Therefore, you're not going to jump from a top 10 pick to top 10 in the power rankings. So I'll go with 10. Pete?
I'm looking a little bit more optimistic. I'm thinking six. Okay.
I meant inside the top ten, too. I almost contradicted myself there. I mean, a single-digit power ranking.
It all depends, obviously, on number 15. So 15's ready. Six is going to be higher than six.
Yeah, I'm right with you, Pete. I think before week one, Patrick Mahomes gets announced as the starter. Those power rankings are going to have him top ten. I'll go seventh.
So it's me. I'll go 11. Take it to 11. I think they're going to have to prove it. Because, listen, they weren't sitting in the one seed when he got hurt last year. They were terrible. And it only got worse after that. Terrible by chief standards. Great by some standards. But I think they're going to have to prove it. So I wouldn't even be surprised if it was worse than 11. But I'll take 11.

Chapter 6: How many All-Stars will the Royals have this year?
No.
Okay. It's two strikes.
Let's see. Third base. Center fielder. Shortstop. Catcher. Jack. Jack. Carlos Santana. No. Lebo. Three for me. Todd.
Fred Lynn?
Nope. I got two there. Harold Baines.
Ho Baines.
Sal Bando. Miguel Cabrera. Torrey Hunter.
Miggy. We always forget Miggy.
Derek Jeter. Never heard of him. Victor Martinez. Joe Maurer. Maglio Ordonez.

Chapter 7: What are the current playoff droughts in Major League Baseball?
The best of those that you didn't get was Grud, who hit 300. Again, the 1,000 plate appearances isn't many.
Are you guys ready?
Yep, we are.
National Basketball Association. The NBA. I'm looking at you, Pete. No, you're not. I am. I am. But should he be? I am looking at you because you know these answers. The New York Knicks are in the finals. Yes. Okay? I just want you to tell me someone from the New York Knicks, On their top 20 all-time scoring list. Enoch. Yeah. Willis-Reed. Willis-Reed's number three, correct. Enoch. Pete's in.
Curtis, then Pete. I'm going to say Patrick Ewing. He's number one. Pete. Dave DeBuscher. Curtis. Dave DeBuscher is number 19 on the list. Curtis, then Pete. Walt Frazier. Walt Frazier's number two.
Carmelo Anthony.
Carmelo's there. Pete. Jerry Lucas. Jerry Lucas is not on the list. Ooh, Curtis. Bill Bradley? Bill Bradley's on the list. Jack. Yeah. Amari Stoudmire. Not on the list. Move around too much. Curtis. There's some other old guys, Pete. Jalen Brunson? Brunson's on the list. Some older guys. One of these guys may have served his country in the upper house of the... That was Bradley. There you go.
You already got Bradley.
Sorry, I missed that.
